January 03 : Janet gives birth to a baby boy named Eissa Al Mana in London.

January 04 : Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana welcomed their first child, a son, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” her rep says in a statement. Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Jackson, 86, claims her nephew (through marriage) has accessed her bank accounts without her permission, used credit cards of hers for his own personal purchases without authorization, and subjected her to years of mental abuse that has left Jackson “in a constant state of fear and confusion.”

Jackson describes her nephew as “an abusive con-man” who has manipulated her in order to “assume control of her finances.”

The Jackson family matriarch says she tried to fire her nephew and order him to move out of her guest house, but he has refused. Katherine is currently in London visiting her daughter, Janet Jackson, but is “afraid to go home with Trent there” and “fears he could physically harm her for terminating him.”

A judge granted Jackson’s request for a restraining order and ordered her nephew to move out of her home and return all keys, passwords and combinations to the property.

A hearing has been scheduled for March 1st.

Paris Jackson, the only daughter of music icon Michael Jackson, has separated from her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy.

Jackson, 18, recently chose to end the relationship after less than a year, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

But, as can be the case with young love, the source cautions that “circumstances could change” and the couple could reunite.

In a new declaration — obtained by TMZ — Katherine says she’s in London because she’s scared to come home for fear Trent will now seek revenge on her. She says she’s now filled with stress and anxiety, and she’s now taking new meds to cope.

Katherine also says she’s had meeting with social workers from Adult Protective Services and they will vouch for the authenticity of her claims.

March 28 : Katherine Jackson must leave her daughter Janet Jackson’s London home and take the witness stand in California if she wants her voice heard in her elder abuse battle with nephew Trent Jackson, a judge ruled Tuesday.

April 25 : Janet attends Bruno Mars’ concert in Birmingham with brother Randy.

Katherine files a request to dismiss the case against Trent without prejudice, however, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Rolf Michael Treu grants the dismissal with prejudice, preventing her from filing the restraining order again with the same evidence and allegations in the future. The judge does note that future conduct can be litigated.

Katherine’s new lawyers, Nelson J. Handy and Vatche Zetjian, explained that Katherine didn’t understand the extent of the action brought about by the case when she initially filed the temporary restraining order request in February, and said that she was not prepared for a trial, or having to testify in court.

May 1 : Speaking to her fans in a video shared on her website, Janet noted that her son is “so healthy, so beautiful, so sweet, so loving, such a happy baby.” She also briefly addressed her separation from Wissam Al Mana, saying, “We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.”

Joe Jackson — the music manager and father of 11, has been hospitalized with terminal cancer, TMZ reports.

The 89-year-old Jackson family patriarch has been battling the illness “for some time,” the outlet says, but is “at the end stages” and “the cancer cannot be treated.”

Family, including wife Katherine, has been at his bedside, sources tell TMZ. Jackson’s children and grandchildren have also made visits.

On Wednesday, son Jermaine told the Daily Mail, “He’s very, very frail, he doesn’t have long. The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days.”

Janet is presented with the inaugural impact award during the Radio Disney Music Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The documentary, co-produced by Workerbee and Associated Entertainment Corporation, promises to offer unprecedented access to the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s life, and an intimate, honest and unfiltered look at the untold story of one of the highest-earning artists in music history.

Filming on “JANET” has been under way for three years. The doc follows Janet as her family is going through the loss of her father, Joseph, the patriarch of the Jackson dynasty who passed in 2018. Producers were granted exclusive access to archival footage and never-before-seen home videos while developing the documentary for the past three years. “JANET” will also detail the most talked-about moments of her life, including her 2004 Super Bowl appearance with Justin Timberlake in which she inadvertently exposed a portion of her breast, sparking controversy that would hover for more than a decade. The docu will also explore Jackson’s reaction to the death of her brother, the legendary and also controversial Michael Jackson, and her process of becoming a mother “JANET” is targeted for debut in early 2022 on Lifetime and A&E. The docu is executive produced by Janet Jackson and Randy Jackson. Executive producer for Workerbee is Rick Murray and Brie Miranda Bryant serves as executive producer for A+E Networks. “Gone Too Soon as the ninth and final single from the Dangerous album. Following its release—on World AIDS Day of 1993—”Gone Too Soon” became a moderate chart success in several countries: France, Germany, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland and the UK. The song was released as a cassette single in the US  and became a hit in Zimbabwe, where it charted at number 3.

“Gone Too Soon” was promoted with a music video directed by Bill DiCicco, which showed footage of Jackson and White together, as well as scenes from the latter’s funeral.

The 24-year-old singer, songwriter and actress signed an exclusive contract with Virgin Records. LaToya hires Jack Gordon as her new manager. She signs a new recording contract with RCA Records and starts recording a new album with produced by the European trio Stock Aitken Waterman.

“(Ain’t Nobody Loves You) Like I Do” is the first single taken from her fifth album “La Toya”.  The single is released throughout Europe, excluding the United Kingdom. LaToya shoots a music video for the song. The B-side of the single, “(Tell Me) She Means Nothing To You At All”, is released as its own single in France. The 12″ singles include a longer version of the song.

March 17 : Hazel gives birth to Jermaine’s son, Jaimy Jackson.

May 19 : LaToya attends the Premiere of “Beverly Hills Cop II” at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.

May 29 : On her 31st birthday, LaToya flies to Japan with her new manager Jack Gordon. Later they go to Germany.

March 27 : The single “You’re Gonna Get Rocked!” is  released throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada. It will peak at #103, barely missing the Billboard Hot 100. Latoya shoots a music video for this song.

March 29 : LaToya gives her very first full concert at Donald Trump’s Castle Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City before a sold-out audience. Katherine, Rebbie, Janet & Rene attend the performance and visit her backstage with Donald Trump.

Mid May : Michael moves out of Hayvenhurst to his recently purchased ranch in the Santa Ynez Vallez. He bought the Sycamore Ranch for $17 millions dollars and soon renames it Neverland Valley Ranch.

LONDON — LaToya Jackson, sister of pop superstar Michael Jackson, was beaten by a gang armed with metal pipes who broke into her Rome hotel suite, her manager said today.
Jackson, 31, was badly bruised in the attack and is resting at her London home, where she returned after the incident, said her manager, Jack Gordon.

Gordon said by telephone from the star’s apartment he believed the attackers had been trying to abduct her.

February 15 : LaToya and Jack Gordon tape an “In Depth Interview With Joan Rivers” at CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

March 1 : LaToya performs in Copenhagen, Denmark.

April 20 : In their New York home, Gordon beat LaToya repeatedly with a heavy brass dining room chair, leaving Jackson with black eyes, swollen lip and chin “the size of a clenched fist”, cuts requiring 12 mouth stitches and contusions on her face, arms, legs and back. LaToya lost consciousness during the beating, leading Gordon to believe she was dead. She recalled, “He called his friends and said, ‘She’s dead. I killed her,’ because I was lying in a puddle of blood and I was out.

Gordon is arrested but then released, claiming he beat LaToya in self-defense.

Katherine flies to New York in order to reconnect with LaTota but it fails. LaToya refuses to speak to her and refuses to press charge against Gordon.

January 11 : At the first annual Black Gold Awards, produced by Dick Clark, Michael wins four awards (but does not attend). Janet is presented with the hottest female newcomer of the year award at the Black Gold Awards in Los Angeles (with a video congratulations from Michael).

January 16 : Michael, Janet & LaToya attend the American Music Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles with Brooke Schields and Emmanuel Lewis.

February 7 : Michael goes to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Natural History to receive awards from CBS & The Guineess Book Of World Records to celebrates Thriller as the largest-selling album of all time (25 millions at the time) Among the many guest are Michael’s date for the evening Brooke Schields, & the whole Jackson family (including LaToya, Rebbie & Janet).

February 26 : Katherine, LaToya, Janet & Michael attend the premiere of Pepsi’s Jacksons commercial at a black-tie event for 1000 bottlers at New York City ’s Lincoln Center.

Janet appears in Diff’rent Strokes episode titled “The Wedding Part 2”

February 28 : In the company of Brooke Schields & Emmanuel Lewis, Michael attends the Grammy Awards ceremony broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium of Los Angeles. He wins an unprecedented 8 awards. On stage he shares his triumph with producer Quincy Jones and invites Janet, LaToya & Rebbie to joins him.

May 4 : The whole Jackson family gather to host a surprise party to honour Katherine at the Bistro Garden in Beverly Hills . Michael offers her a Rolls Royce!

Janet appears in Diff’rent Strokes episode titled “The Houseguest”.

May 28 : Janet & LaToya appear on the cover of Jet magazine.

June : Janet graduates from high school and decides not to go to College.

July : Janet joins the cast of musical TV show “Fame” on NBC. She plays the part of Cleo Hewitt. She also starts recording a second album for A&M.

July 23 : Janet appears on the cover of Jet Magazine.

July 29+30+31 : The Jacksons perform concerts at the Giants stadium in East Rutherford (New Jersey) attended by Katherine, Janet, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon among others.

August 13 : “Don’t Stand Another Chance” is released at the 1st single from “Dream Street”. Janet does not shoot a video for this song.

August 31 : Janet performs Don’t Stand Another Chance on Much More Music in Toronto, Canada.

September 7 : While the Jackson family is on tour, Janet & her boyfriend James DeBarge secretly elope in Grand Rapids (Michigan). Janet only reveals her secret marriage to LaToya but soon the press reveals the wedding. James moves into Hayvenhurst in Janet’s bedroom.

September 15 : In Los Angeles, Janet performs her new single “Don’t Stand Another Chance” + “Dream Street”  on American Bandstand.

“Two To The Power Of Love” is released at the 2nd single from “Dream Street”. Janet does not shoot a video for this song.

September 29 : Season 4 premiere of “Fame” featuring Janet is aired on NBC.In the first episode Janet/Cleo performs  her new single “Two To The Power Of Love” with Jesse Borrego taking Cliff Richard’s place.

October 23 : Janet’s second album titled “Dream Street” is released by A&M Records. It will peak at #147 on Billboard 200. “Fast Girls” is released at the 3rd single from “Dream Street”. Janet does not shoot a video for this song.

Janet gives an interview on the Bryant Gumbel show.

October 27 :  In Fame new episode “The Heart Of Rock N Roll”, Janet/Cleo performs “Don’t Stand Another Chance”.

November : Janet & James move in a condo in Brentwood.

November 20 : “Dream Street” is released to radios as the 4th & final single from “Dream Street’. Due to low sales of the album A&M cancel the released of the single. A music video is shot later as part of “Fame” storyline but it was never played on MTV or used as promotional video for the single.

December 7+8+9 : The Jacksons play their last Victory Tour concerts at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles . During the last song of the last concert, Janet, LaToya & Rebbie join the group on stage with all the nieces and nephews to dance all together.

1985

Michael hosts a family day at Hayvenhurst to open the « Memory Room » with family pictures and history.

Janet, Latoya & Rebbie attend the Princess Grace Foundation Gala + a party hosted by Essence Magazine in honour of her mother Katherine Jackson.

January : Janet presents an award with sister Rebbie at the Black Gold Awards at the Cocoanut Grove, Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

January 26 : In Fame’s new episode “The Heart Of Rock N Roll II”, Janet/Cleo performs a rendition of Jackson 5 hit “I Want You Back”.

January 28 : Janet attends the American Music Awards with James & LaToya. She and LaToya presents an award to Kenny Rogers. Rebbie also attends and she presents an award.

February 2 : Janet is a guest star on a two part episode of  ABS series “Love Boat”. She plays the character Della. The episodes were shot on location in Scandinavia & Russia.

March 28 : Janet attends the premiere of “The Last Dragon” with James.

April : Janet leaves Fame & she decides to annul her marriage to James DeBarge because of his drug addiction among other things. She goes back to Hayvenhurst and suffers from depression.

May 25 : In Fame’s season 4th finale, Janet/Cleo performs “Dream Street”. This is Janet first ever promotional music video and also her last appearance on the show.
