1992

January 11 : Janet is presented with the Chairman’s Award at 24th Annual NAACP Image Awards at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.

March 10 :  Janet is presented with the Sammy Davis Jr Heritage Award during the Sixth Annual Soul Train Music Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

March 28  :  Janet & Rene attend the Seventh Annual IFP/West Independent Spirit Awards at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.

April 14 : Janet begins to film the movie “Poetic Justice” directed by John Singleton in Los Angeles and featuring Tupac Shakur & Q-Tip. During the filming, she shares an appartment with her friends Tina Landon,  Tish Oliver & Jossie Harris.

July : “The Best Things In Life Are Free”, a duet between Janet & Luther Vandross is released and becomes a big hit even though Janet does not appear in the video.

July 4 : Last day of filming for the “Poetic Justice” movie.

September 18 : Janet and Rene Elizondo participate to “Earthwalk” in L.A.

October 2 : Alejandra Loaiza gives birth to Randy Jackson Jr in Colombia, South America.

November 15-18 : The Jacksons-An American Dream is aired on ABC. This mini series about the Jackson family produced by Jermaine & Margaret and becomes a huge success.

December : Janet & Rene arrive in Minneapolis so start the recording sessions of Janet’s next album. They stay at Jimmy Jam’s home.

While taping an Exotic Club Tour in Minneapolis Latoya visits Janet, also in town recording her album, to ask for help in escaping Gordon. Janet gets mad at La Toya, accusing her elder sister of recording their conversation.

December 24-31 : Janet & Rene leave Minneappolis and fly to Anguila for the holidays.

1993

Randy moves to Hayvenhurst with Alejandra and their children Genevieve and Randy Jr.

January : Janet returns to Minneapolis with Rene to resume the recording sessions of her new album with Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam.

February 24 : Janet attends the Grammy Awards where she presents Michael with the Grammy Legend Award.

March : Janet hires Tina London as new choreographer and they audition dancers for the new project. The “Kids” include Shawnette Heard, Tish Oliver, Kelly Konno & Nikki Panterpurg.

Together they shoot the videos for “That’s The Way Love Goes” (directed by Rene and featuring Jennifer Lopez) and “If” (directed by Dominic Sena).

March 10 :  Janet attends the unveiling of Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam’ star on the Hollywwood Walk Of Fame with Quincy Jones and Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

April : “That’s The Way Love Goes” is released as the 1st single released from “Janet”. It peaks at #1 on Hot 100 Billboard. Janet goes to Europe with Rene & the Kids to promote the album and perform the song in many TV shows including :

-Paris (France) : Les Années Tubes (aired on April 19), M6 Studios (aired on April 20), Studios des Buttes-Chaumont on Sacrée Soirée (aired on April 22).

-Olympiahalle, Innsbruck (Austria) : Wetten, dass..? aus Innsbruck aired on April 17.

-London (England) : Top Of The Pops aired on April 24.

May :  Janet is on the cover of Essence & Glamour magazines.

May 18 : The album Janet is released by Virgin. It peaks at #1 on Billboard 200.

June 9 : Janet and director John Singleton attend the Liberty Hill Foundation’s 11th Annual Upton Sinclair Awards in Beverly Hills, California.

July 13 : “If” is released as the 2nd single from “Janet” along with a video directed by Dominec Sena. It peaks at #4 on Hot 100 Billboard.

July 21 : In Hollywood , Janet attends the premiere of “Poetic Justice” with Rene, John Singleton & Tupac.

July 23 : “Poetic Justice’ is released in US theatres. According to Box Office Mojo, Poetic Justice made $27,515,786 in the domestic box office with the budget being $14,000,000. For its opening weekend it opened at #1 with over $11,000,000 in ticket sales. It ranked #20 for the year of 1993 openings and #21 for highest R-rated movies of 1993.

August : Janet is on the cover of US magazine, Young & Modern magazine & Jet (with Tupac).

August 1 : Janet makes a photoshoot with by George Holz for US Weekly in Los Angeles.

Late August : In L.A Janet & the kids start rehearsing for Janet’s world tour and her upcoming VMA’s performance.

September : Janet is on the cover of Rolling Stone & Ebony magazines.

September 2 : Janet performs “That’s The Way Love Goes” & “If” at the MTV Video Music Awards life from the Gibson Amphitheater in L.A. Many attendees at the MTV Video Music Awards express well wishes for Michael.

October : Janet continues rehearsing for her upcoming world tour.

October 12 : “Again” is released as the third single from “Janet” along with a video directed by Rene. It peaks at #1 on Hot 100 Billboard.

Janet, Rene & the Kids go to Hawaii to rehearse for the next tour.

October 31 : Joe’s father, Samuel Jackson dies at the age of 90.

ovember 24 : Janet kicks off the “Janet World Tour” at the Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, Ohio. Early in her performance she asks her audience to bow their heads and say a silent prayer “for my brother Michael”.

MTV interviews Janet and her team of dancers and musicians before the opening night of the tour. The interview airs a few days later along with the full performances of “If” and “Rhythm Nation”.

November 26 : Janet gives a concert at the Sky Dome in Toronto, Canada.

November 28 + 29 : Janet gives two concerts at the US Air Arena in Landover, US

Janet is on the cover of Jet magazine.

December 1 : Janet gives a concert at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, US.

December 02 : Janet gives a concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis, US.

 December 04 : Janet gives a concert at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, US.

December 08 : LaToya shocks the world by holding a midnight press conference in Tel Aviv, Istrael where she says that she “can no longer be a silent collaborator” to Michael’s ‘crimes against young innocent victims”. Her husband and manager Jack Gordon is by her side.
The Jackson family reacts immediately and holds a press conference at Hayvenhurst to refute LaToya’s claims. Katherine, Joe, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito & Randy tell CNN that LaToya has been brainwashed by her “money hungry” husband Jack Gordon.

December 11 : Margaret Maldonado leaves Jermaine & Hayvenhurst with Jeremy & Jourdyn.

December 17 + 18 + 22 + 23 : Janet gives 4 concerts at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, US.

December 28 : Janet gives a concert at the RI-Civic Center in Providence (which started an hour and a half late due to a technical problem).

December 30 : Janet gives a concert at the CT-Civic Center in Hartford.

December 31 : Janet celebrates New Year’s eve on stage with a concert and countdown at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

January 3 : Janet gives a concert at the Richfield Coliseum in Richfield.

January 5 + 6 : Janet gives two concerts at the Omni in Atlanta.

January 9 : Janet gives a concert at the Charlotte Coliseum in Charlotte, NC.

January 12 : Janet gives a concert at theBJCC Coliseum in Birmingham, AL.

January 14 : Janet gives a concert at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA.

January 16 : Janet gives a concert at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, TN.

January 22 : Janet & Rene attend the 51st Annual Golden Globe Awards at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills where “Again” is nominated for Best Song For A film.

January 24 : Janet gives a concert at the NY-Pepsi Center in Albany.

January 30 : Janet gives a concert at the MA-Centrum in Worcester.

January 31 : Janet gives a concert at the PA-Spectrum in Philadelphia.

February 4 : Janet gives a concert at the OH-Nutter Center in Dayton.

February 6 : Janet gives a concert at the Civic Center in Peoria, IL.

February 19 : The whole Jackson family (except LaToya) is reunited at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas to rehearse & tape The Jackson Family Honors TV Special which is broadcasted a few days later around the world.

February 24 : Janet gives the last concert of the first US leg of the tour at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, CA.

March 8 : Janet & Rene attend the 66th Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

March 21 : Janet & Rene attend the 66th Annual Academy Awards at Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles, where  “Again” is nominated for Best Song For A Film. Janet performs the song live but she does not win.

March 22 : Janet & Rene fly from LA to Tokyo, Japan.

March 24 : Janet gives a concert at the Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki, Japan.

March 27 : Janet gives a concert at the Osaka-jo Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan.

March 29 + 30 : Janet gives a concert at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.

April 7 : Janet attends the Party for Janet Jackson’s Sold-Out Concert Tour and Plaque Presentation for 10 Million Copies of “Janet” Album at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California.

April 7 + 8 + 9 : Janet gives two concerts at the Forum in Inglewood. Many members of the Jackson family attend the concerts.

April 14 : Janet gives a concert at the San Jose Arena in San Jose, CA.

April 16 : Janet gives a concert at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

April 26 + 27 : Janet gives two concerts at the UT-Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

May 26 : Michael & Lisa Marie secretly get married in a 12 minutes ceremony only attended by Eva Darling & Thomas Keough!

June 4 : Janet accepts two MTV Movie Awards for her part in “Poetic Justice” live from the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California.

June 10 : Janet kicks off her summer US tour at the Merriwether Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD.

June 11 : Janet gives a concert at the MD-Merriwether Post Pavilion in Columbia.

August 27 : Dee Dee Jackson (Tito’s ex wife and mother of the 3T) is found dead in her swimming pool by her boyfriend Donald Bohana. The Jackson family gathers at Hayvenhurst to support Tito and his kids the 3T.

Late August/Early September : Janet invites her nephews to spend a few days at her Malibu beach home to rest and prepare for the funerals. The whole family (except LaToya) attends Dee Dee’s funerals.

September 8 : Michael & Lisa Marie open the MTV Video Music Awards Ceremony with a big kiss live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Janet attends the ceremony where she accepts an award for “If”.

October : Janet is on the cover of VIBE Magazine.

October 8 : Michael & Lisa attend an Elvis Presley tribute gala in Memphis with Janet & Rene and Lisa’s mother Priscillia Presley

Michael starts recording a duet with Janet.

October 11 : “You Want This” is released as the 7th single from “Janet” along with a video in black & white. It peaks at #8 on Hot 100 Billboard.

November 1 : Janet attends her makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin’s benefit toasting his new book “THE ART OF MAKEUP”.

1995

January 16 : Janet is honored by the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award, during its CORE  ‘Living The Dream’ Ambassadorial Reception Awards Dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City.

Janet is on the cover of Ebony Magazine.

January 31 : Whoops Now”/”What’ll Do” are released as “Janet” ‘ eighth and ninth single, respectively. The songs reached number one in New Zealand and peaked within the top 20 in several countries. This double single is not released in the US.

The video for “Whoops Now” Is directed by Yuri Elizondo, the younger brother of René Elizondo, Jr., and depicts Janet and “The Kids” having fun in Jackson’s favorite vacation spot, Anguilla.

The video for “What’ll I Do” is a concert performance taken from the Janet. Tour.

February 6 + 7 : Janet kicks off the Australian/Asia leg of the Janet Tour with two concerts at the Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

February 10 + 11 + 12 + 15 : Janet gives 4 concerts at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia.

February 17 + 18 + 20 : Janet gives 3 concerts at the Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia.

February 21 : Janet gives a concert at the Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia.

February 23 : Janet gives the last concert of the Australian leg at the Burswood Dome in Perth.

February 27 + 28 : Janet gives two concerts at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore

March 3 : Janet gives a concert at the Folk Arts Theater in Pasay, Philippines.

March 5 + 6 : Janet gives two concerts at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok Thailand.

March 8 : Janet kicks off the European leg of the tour at the Oslo Spektrum in Oslo, Norway.

March 21 + 22 : Janet gives two concerts at the Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

March 24 : Janet performs “Whoops Now” at Théâtre de l’Empire in Paris, France for French TV Show on TF1.

March 25 : Janet gives a concert at the Palais des Sports in Toulouse, France.

April 19 + 20 + 22  : Janet gives the last 3 concerts of the Janet World Tour at the Wembley Arena in London.

May 12 : Janet & Rene attend the Eighth Annual Essence Awards at Paramount Theatre, Madison Square Garden in New York City where Janet is presented with an award.

May 15-20 : Michael & Janet shoot the “Scream” short film, directed by Mark Romanek.

May 19 : “Scream”, The first single from the album History is officially launched on radios worldwide.

May 31 : “Scream”/”Childhood” is released worldwide. It peaks at #5 on Hot 100 Billboard.
