July : Michael and LaToya move together into a condo in Manhattan’s Sutton Place. Michael is in NYC to rehearse and film his first movie The Wiz, a black remake of The Wizard Of Oz. Michael got the part of the Scarecrow opposite good friend Diana Ross as Dorothy and Richard Pryor as The Wiz. The film is directed by Sydney Lumet.

June 29 : Birth of Sigmund Esco Jackson Jr (Siggy) : First child of Jackie & Enid.

August : Michael goes to the famous club Studio 54 in New York with LaToya & Janet. He meets a lot of people like Liza Minelli, Stephanie Mills, Tatum O’Neil or Andy Warhol.

October 05 : Birth of Yashi Brown : Second child of Rebbie & Nathaniel.

October 25 : The cast of The Wiz helds a party (“Goin’ Places with The Wiz) in Michael’s honor at Studio 54, in celebration of his acting debut and The Jackson’s 2nd album Goin’ Places release. Katherine, Jackie, Marlon, Tito, Randy, LaToya and Janet attend the party which is hosted by Epic Records. Invitations were in the form of airline tickets in keeping with the “Goin’ Places” theme.

December : Michael gives an interview to Steve Manning from his New York’s East Side appartment. Steve is greeted by LaToya who just finished preparing breakfast for Michael. The interview is published on the January 1978 issue of Black Stars magazine which features Michael on the cover.

June 16 : The Jacksons perform on The Dinah Show (taped in Burbank). They perform “De De Doo” with Dinah Shore, the host of the show. She interviews the brothers, who talk about their recent trip to the Philippines. Michael sings “One Day In Your Life” and “We’re Almost There,” then he is interviewed alone. He talks about his songs and vacations. Katherine, Rebbie, LaToya and Janet are in the audience and make a quick appearance.

CBS airs the first episode of The Jacksons Variety Show. The show based on their Las Vegas set features The Jacksons + The Jackson Sisters (Rebbie, LaToya & Janet).  Special guest star : Sonny Bono. Songs performed :”Forever Came Today”, “Love Will Keep Us Together”, “More Than You Know”/”Am I Blue?”/”For Once in My Life”/ “Try a Little Tenderness”, “Steppin’ Out with My Baby”, “Dancing Machine”.

November 5 : The Jacksons are on the cover of Rock & Soul Magazine including Rebbie, LaToya & Janet.

December : The Jacksons + Rebbie, LaToya & Janet give an interview at Hayvenhurst. This rare interview is aired in 2009 on the Swedish tribute program “As we remember Michael Jackson” (original title “Så minns vi Michael Jackson”).

December 18 : Birth of Valencia Jackson, first child of Marlon & Valencia.

June 30, 1975 : Joe Jackson calls a press conference at the Rainbow Grill in Manhattan with the whole family, except Jermaine, to announce that the Jackson 5 are leaving Motown for CBS Epic Records. Jermaine is officially replaced by Randy.

August 8, 1975 : Dee Dee gives birth to Taryll Jackson.

August 16, 1975 : Marlon gets married to Carol Ann Parker.

December : Concert in Mexico City, Mexico (unknown venue). Katherine, Janet & LaToya attend the concert. Jermaine is not on stage, Marlon takes over his parts. The concert is filmed and later air on mexican TV.

April 9 +10 +11 +12+13+14+15+16+17+18+19+20+21+22+23, 1974 : Joe Jackson arranges for the whole family , including sisters Rebbie, LaToya & Janet to perform twice a day a family show at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas ( Nevada ). Katherine attends every shows.

April 26+27+28, 1974 : The Jackson family moves their cabaret set to the Sahara Tahoe in Stateline.

August 1974 : The Jackson family is on the cover of Jet Magazine including Rebbie, LaToya & Janet.

August 21+22+23+24+25+26+27+28+30+31 +September 1+2+3, 1974 : The Jackson family return to the MGM Grand Hotel of Las Vegas for another series of shows.

August 30, 1974 : Cheryl Terrel, Joe’s lover, gives birth to a baby girl named Joh’ Vonnie.

September 8 : Tito Jackson throws a party for singer Al Green. Nearly five hundred guests attend, including David Bowie, to whom Michael shows the robot dance steps on the dance floor. Michael & LaToya pose for pictures with David Bowie.

September 12 : The Jackson 5 land in Brazil at Viracopos Airport in Sao Paulo, the first stop of the tour in the country. They check into the Othon Palace Hotel with the 21 people accompanying them, including Joe, Katherine LaToya and Janet, along with Miss Rose Fine, the children’s tutor. Randy, the youngest boy in the family, also joins the group. A press conference is organized at the hotel. The Brazilian press, represented by Folha de S. Paulo, is somewhat suspicious of the group, and the questions are unsettling and somewhat aggressive.

September 13 : Concert at the Palácio das Convenções d’Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil.

September 14 : Concert at the Pavilhão de Exposições do Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil.

In addition to these two dates in Sao Paulo, the group tapes a TV show for Brazilian television, Tupi, in the Sumaré neighborhood. The recording lasts until dawn due to technical issues. The program is the only recording that exists of the Jackson 5’s visit to Brazil. Unfortunately, it was largely destroyed by the fire that struck the TV channel’s building. Only 1 minute and 40 seconds of the recording survived the fire and are now preserved at the Brazilian Cinematheque, along with the rest of the channel’s files. Rare footage of Michael performing “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “Ben” was broadcast in 2009.

September 17 : Concert at the Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

September 18 : Concert at the Belo Horizonte, Estádio Independência in in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

September 19 + 20 : Concert at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

During their visit to Rio de Janeiro for two dates, the group stops by the Globo radio studios. They are guests on the daily show hosted by Paulo Giovani, a renowned radio presenter.

The Jackson 5 give a press conference at the à Hotel Nacional in Rio.

September 21 : The Jackson 5 have to cancel their concert at the last minute at the Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil because their music material is still in Rio : ” The spectators were furious. We jumped outside, and when the bus driver saw us, he stopped immediately. We barely had time to jump into the bus, and inside, the enraged crowd was breaking everything. People surrounded the bus, pushing it and throwing anything they could get their hands on. “Quick, lie down and cover your heads with your hands,” I shouted to the boys. Shattered glass flew, and within minutes, all the windows were broken. The driver miraculously managed to navigate through the furious crowd without harming anyone, and afterwards, we were free on the road”. The concert is reschudeled for the daf after.

September 22 : Concert at the Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil.

The Jackson 5 perform “Life Of The Party” on the Sonny Comedy Revue.

September 23 : The Jackson family flies back to Los Angeles.

October 4+5+6, 1974 : New series of family shows at the Sahara Tahoe in Stateline.

November 24, 1974 : Jackie gets married to Enid Spann in Las Vegas. Soon after he leaves Hayvenhurst to move in hIs own place with Enid.

December 1974 : The whole Jackson family is on the cover of Ebony magazine.

May 29, 1956 : Katherine gives birth to LaToya Yvonne Jackson. LaToya is welcomed by her father Joe and her siblings Rebbie (aged 6), Jackie (aged 5), Tito (aged 4) and Jermaine (aged 2)

March 12, 1957 : Katherine gives birth to baby twins Marlon & Brandon Jackson but Brandon dies eight hours later.

August 29, 1958 : Katherine gives birth to Michael Joseph Jackson in Gary Indiana.

1960 : From Jermaine Jackson’s book in 2011 : “GOD WAS ALWAYS RESIDENT IN OUR house, but Jehovah moved in before Mother fell pregnant with Randy, when Michael was two. She had been raised a Christian with devoted family links to the Baptist Church, but two things happened in 1960 : a local pastor she respected at Gary’s Lutheran church turned out to be having an affair and therefore broke his covenant with God; and a practising Jehovah’s Witness, a friend named Beverly Brown, knocked on our door at the exact time of Mother’s spiritual disillu-sionment. That was when Christmas and birthdays moved out of our home. Mother says that I ‘must’ remember having a Christmas tree and presents until I was six, but I honestly can’t. After her conversion the only ‘special occasion’ was the bligatory visit with Mother to the local Kingdom Hall. It was her resnonsibility to show us the love of God.

October 29, 1961 : Katherine gives birth to Steven Randall Jackson (Randy).

May 16, 1966 : Katherine gives birth to Janet Damito Jo Jackson in Gary.

November 30, 1968 : While the Jackson 5 perform at the Regal Theater in Chicago, their sister Rebbie gets married to Nathaniel Brown at the Kingdom Hall of Gary. One month later they move to Kentucky. LaToya, aged 12, attends the ceremony.

July 1969 : Motown headquarters move from Detroit to California and so do the J5! Joe, Tito, Jack Richardson, drummer Johnny Jackson & keyboards players Ronnie Rancifer drive to Los Angeles while Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon & Michael fly out a few days later. The group is accommodated at the Motel Tropicana on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Katherine remains in Gary with LaToya, Randy and Janet.

November 1969 : Katherine, LaToya, Janet & Randy join Joe and the Jackson 5 in California and the whole family moves into a house rented by Motown on 1601 Queens Roads in the Hollywood Hills.

The family celebrates their new life by driving up to San Francisco for the weekend.

November 1970 : The Jackson family moves in a new house rented by Motown at
Bowmont Drive, in Beverly Hills.

May 5, 1971 : The Jackson family moves into a new house that they just purchased for 250 000 dollars at 4641 Hayvenhurst avenue in Encino, California. They call their new home Hayvenhurst. They share 6 rooms  : Katherine/Joe, Jackie/Ronny Rancifer, Tito/Johnny Jackson, Jermaine/Marlon, Michael/Randy, LaToya/Janet) + a guest room for Jack Richardson (the group road manager since 1968).

Rebbie gives birth to a baby girl named Stacee Brown.

September 24, 1971 : The Jackson 5 are on the cover of Life magazine with Katherine & Joe. The photoshoot took place at Hayvenhurst and features Rebbie, baby Stacee, LaToya & 5 years old Janet.

June 17, 1972 : Tito leaves Hayvenhurst and gets married to Delores “Dee Dee” Martes in a small chapel in Inglewood California. The whole family attends the wedding including Michael, LaToya & Janet.

September 1972 : Michael starts to attend Montclair Prep High School, a private school in Van Nuys. He and LaToya meet and become lifelong friends with Kathy Hilton.

November 18, 1972 : The Jackson family (including Joseph, Katherine and 16 years old LaToya) attend the 6th annual NAACP Image Award ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The Jackson 5 perform and for the third consecutive year, the group is presented with the NAACP’s Image Award for Male Group Of The Year. Michael poses for pictures with Coretta Scott King (Martin Luther King’s widow) and Redd Foxx.

March 9, 1973 : Katherine files for divorce after finding out about Joe’s affair but she withdraws her demand a couple of months later.

August 4, 1973 : Dee Dee gives birth to Toriano Jackson 2 (Taj), Tito’s first son and Katherine and Joe’s first grandson. Since Tito is on tour, LaToya acts as Dee Dee’s Lamaze labour coach.

December 15, 1973 : Jermaine leaves Hayvenhurst and gets married to Hazel Gordy, daughter of Berry Gordy. The whole family attends the wedding including Michael, LaToya & Janet.

Paris, Prince and Bigi, and Katherine make plans to put together a documentary film entitled “Remembering Michael” in remembrance of her deceased father. It had been hoped that costs associated with the making of the project were to be funded via contributing fans through the crowdfunding site FundAnything. However, due to the uproar from the fans and media sparked by this method, Katherine decides to shut down the campaign. In a sneak peek of the documentary, Paris remarked that her father had promised to teach her his famous dance move, the Moonwalk, but never had the chance. Since the shutdown of the online campaign, no further updates have been reported concerning this project.

January 25 : Jackie takes his nephew Prince to the basketball game of his Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz in the Staples Center in L.A.

February 13 : Prince celebrates his 14th birthday with family & friends.

February 17 : Birth of Adren Michael Jackson, second child of  Taryll Jackson & Breana Cabral.

February 21 : Blanket celebrates his 9th birthday with family & friends.

March 23 : Prince’s Godmother, Elizabeth Taylor, the legendary actress famed for her beauty, her jet-set lifestyle, her charitable endeavors and her many marriages, has died, her publicist told CNN Wednesday. She was 79. Taylor died “peacefully today in Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles,” said a statement from her publicist. She was hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure, “a condition with which she had struggled for many years. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be.”

March 24 : Elizabeth Taylor is buried in a private ceremony, the day after she died, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Taylor is entombed in the Great Mausoleum, where public access to her tomb is restricted.

March 31 : Blanket, Paris, Latoya and Prince Jackson support Japan Relief for the American Red Cross at the GBK Gift Lounge at SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

April 03 : Paris celebrates her 13th birthday with family & friends.

February 17 : Birth of Adren Michael Jackson, second child of  Taryll Jackson & Breana Cabral.

March-May : LaToya takes part in NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, which air from March through May 2011 and raises $65,000 for her chosen charity, AIDS Project Los Angeles. La Toya is “fired” from Celebrity Apprentice in episode 8 during season 11, which aired on April 24, 2011 on NBC. In an Apprentice first, LaToya is rehired in the following episode, as she felt she couldn’t defend her case. La Toya is fired for the second time on May 8, 2011 and becomes the first person to be fired from The Apprentice twice within the same season. She is also the first guest judge to appear in two episodes of season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She also serves as guest judge on the 17th season of America’s Next Top Model.

To promote Celebrity Apprentice, LaToya gives several interviews including the Today Show, “Live With Regis & Kathie Lee” (March 4) , the Mo’Nique Show (May 18) and the Wendy Williams Show.

March 16 : LaToya will publish her second memoir, tentatively titled Starting Over and set to be released in the United States on September 13, 2011 through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

LaToya attends La Toya Jackson’s Book Launch Party at 230 Fifth Avenue in New York City. 

June 21 : LaToya is a guest on Today Show on NBC where she defends Michael : “I never had a change heart. I always knew that he never did that”.

LaToya releases her new book “Starting Over” and gives many interviews to promote it including Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN.

April 4 : (Vienna, Austria) Janet Jackson will attend this year’s Life Ball, it has emerged.

Organisers of the HIV and AIDS awareness event – which is set to take place at the City Hall of Vienna on 21 May – announced today  that the pop star will stay in the Austrian capital for three days.

Life Ball officials said Jackson will arrive in Vienna from Cannes in southern France on 20 May. The singer will attend the AIDS Solidarity Gala at the Hofburg Palace in the city centre the following day before joining the partying crowds at the 19th Life Ball later on.

Jackson will come to Austria as ambassador of the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).

Paris is living quarantine life in the single lane now … she’s broken up with her BF, singer Gabriel Glenn. Sources close to Paris tell TMZ … she decided it was time for her to go solo. The breakup, we’re told, was amicable as neither holds any anger or ill will. Our sources say the relationship just ran its course and it was something that just needed to happen.

“Earlier this year, Jackson was one half of acoustic duo “The Soundflowers” with boyfriend Gabriel Glenn, until the two split. She describes nursing a broken heart as a literal “aching in your chest,” but Jackson turned her pain into art. “You were my all/And now I fall to the ground,” she sings on her new single “Let Down,” which drops Friday. The time in her bedroom resulted in 11 songs on the concept album, “Wilted,” released by Republic Records, and out on Nov. 13. All the stages of grief are represented in her lyrics: anger, denial, bargaining and acceptance, but the last song, the upbeat “Another Spring,” reveals a stronger woman who lets her “wounds shine through.”.

On the eve of Halloween, Omarion will take us on a special trip for the launch of his new studio album The Kinection, Billboard can exclusively reveal. The Grammy-nominated singer and rapper will present the LP with a release event beaming live from Michael Jackson’s Hayvenhurst Estate, and hosted by the late King of Pop’s son Prince Jackson. Also, viewers will get insights into the new album and enjoy a virtual tour through areas of the estate where Omarion’s hero lived and worked.

December 21 : Prince donates toys to 25 children from nine families at Mattel, an El Segundo, Los Angeles store for kids. He teamed up with his Heal LA Foundation and the LA Police Baseball Foundation to bring the youngsters to Mattel’s headquarters, where each child was gifted $150 to spend on a holiday shopping spree — just in time for the joyous day, he wrote on his Instagram.

December 24 : Michael Jackson’s onetime Neverland ranch has sold for $22 million to billionaire Ron Burkle, a onetime associate of the late pop star and co-founder of the investment firm Yucaipa Companies, according to public records and three people familiar with the deal.

The property, located about 40 miles from Santa Barbara, had been on and off the market for years, first listing for $100 million in 2015 and undergoing several price cuts. It was listed for $31 million last year, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Mr. Jackson’s estate co-owned the ranch with a fund managed by Colony Capital, a real-estate investment trust. Amid financial struggles, Mr. Jackson had defaulted on a loan backed by the ranch and Colony bought the note in 2008, putting the property’s title into a joint venture it formed with the pop star. Mr. Jackson originally paid about $19.5 million for the ranch in 1987.
