Frank Brummett remembers : “During a break, I approached the young performers, inquiring if they had a manager. They guided me to a table where their father, Joe Jackson, age 40, was seated. Having never heard of them before, I poured out my troubles about the lack of a venue and bands, tears streaming down my face. As I finished my tale of woe, Joe shared his own struggles – working at US Steel, raising six boys and three girls, and keeping his boys interested in their music while still having a minute to enjoy their childhood”

February 28 : The Jackson 5 perform at St. John’s Baptist Panel Room in Whiting, Indiana. Frank Brummett remembers : “The Jacksons performed their first COBRA PRODUCTIONS show on Friday, February 28th. It felt like a triumphant return, although Joe could only manage a later show due to his day shift at the steel mill. To fill the void, Dick Biondi offered to DJ the beginning of the evening. Dick enjoyed playing the game and was willing to mention us now and then on his show. We gathered a modest crowd of about twenty to thirty people that night. When the time came to settle the accounts, I found myself without sufficient funds to pay the band. Joe, ever supportive, told me not to sweat it; he assured me that “things will get better.”

1960 : From Jermaine Jackson’s book in 2011 : “GOD WAS ALWAYS RESIDENT IN OUR house, but Jehovah moved in before Mother fell pregnant with Randy, when Michael was two. She had been raised a Christian with devoted family links to the Baptist Church, but two things happened in 1960 : a local pastor she respected at Gary’s Lutheran church turned out to be having an affair and therefore broke his covenant with God; and a practising Jehovah’s Witness, a friend named Beverly Brown, knocked on our door at the exact time of Mother’s spiritual disillu-sionment. That was when Christmas and birthdays moved out of our home. Mother says that I ‘must’ remember having a Christmas tree and presents until I was six, but I honestly can’t. After her conversion the only ‘special occasion’ was the bligatory visit with Mother to the local Kingdom Hall. It was her resnonsibility to show us the love of God.

August 29, 1965  : The brother’s first invitation to perform comes courtesy of a children’s s fashion show in Glen Park. Having until then performed as the Jackson Family and The Jackson Brothers, it is here that the name The Jackson 5 is born, in preference to the Jackson Brothers Five suggested by show organizer Evelyn LaHaie. They perform three numbers, one being a current hit by The Larks, ‘Doin’ The Jerk.’

After a suggestion from Joe’s sister-in-law, Bobbie Rose Jackson, The Jackson 5, comprising Michael, Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie and Tito, enter and win the Rossevelt High School talent show where they perform “My Girl” and “Barefootin'”.

Two months later, The Jackson 5 win the Annual talent Search at Gilroy Stadium. The Jackson 5 also receive their first ever press in the Gary Post Tribune.

AEG Live lawyers played short video clips from the depositions of Michael Jackson’s oldest children in court to counter testimony from their chef. The first clip shown to jurors was an answer to a question by AEG Live lawyer Marvin Putnam about former Jackson nanny Grace Rwaramba, who was fired two months before Jackson’s death.
“My dad didn’t like her, so he tried to, like, keep her away from us,” Paris said. “So he sent her on errands a lot.”
Her father was reluctant to fire Rwaramba because “he felt bad because she didn’t really have a lot of money,” she testified.
“He said she was sneaky and she wasn’t an honest person and she lied a lot,” Paris said.
Paris related an incident that happened when she was “really young.” She prefaced the story by saying it was “real creepy” and “this is going to freak you out.”
The nanny would sneak into a doctor’s hotel room and “he’d wake up and she’d be in his bed,” Paris said. “So, yeah, it’s kind of creepy.” It was unclear whose bed Paris was referring to since it was an isolated clip played without context.

July : Paris is transferred from the UCLA Medical Center to the Diamond Ranch Academy boarding school in Hurricane, Utah.

October 2 : A Los Angeles jury on Wednesday found that concert promoter AEG Live was not liable for the death of Michael Jackson, capping a marathon civil trial that laid bare the troubled singer’s health problems, struggles with drugs and fateful attempt at a comeback tour.

Jackson’s family filed the lawsuit, claiming that AEG’s was to blame for the King of Pop’s death because it was negligent in the hiring and supervising of the doctor, Conrad Murray. AEG argued that Jackson had a history of abusing drugs, including the anesthetic, and was responsible for his own death.

The outcome marked a decisive victory for AEG. The jury was left with five questions that it had to answer affirmatively in order to find AEG liable. The jury agreed with the first question, that AEG hired Murray. But it rejected the second question, which asked whether Murray was unfit or incompetent. That finding made the rest of the questionnaire moot.

The Jacksons wanted AEG to pay his children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, $85 million each and his mother, Katherine, at least $35 million.

Katherine Jackson stared ahead stoically as the verdict was read. She was quickly whisked into another courtroom, where she exited at the back of the downtown L.A. courthouse.

At night she goes back home and is finally reunited with Prince, Paris & Blanket.

Randy Jackson on Twitter : “I was on the phone at 9pm in Los Angeles, with my sister Rebbie, when my mother FIRED Trent and Security. My mom told TJ that she was coming home tomorrow (which is today). He asked for temporary guardianship & she said -“NO its not necessary, I’ll be home tomorrow.” He asked again, and she said “NO TJ” I heard the conversation. His performance in court today breaks my heart. He knows his Aunts and Uncles would never hold their mother against her will. That’s ABSURD.He insisted upon knowing what time she was arriving today & now I know why. Trust me – the Executors are behind this. The “powers that be” use tabloid media to spin their lies and divide our family. Again.. WHY would it be necessary for TJ to take guardianship of the children away from my mother when they were already in his care?

July 26 : Prince Jackson on Twitter :

I would first like to start off this tweet by thanking the fans that have always stood by me and my family, my dad really appreciated your support and I still treasure it to this day. As I am sure everyone is well aware of the events that have been going on. I have not been backing up my sister and her tweets avidly because I was waiting for the time to reveal my side. As long as I can remember my dad had repeatedly warned me of certain people and their ways. Although I am happy my grandma was returned, after speaking with her I realized how misguided and how badly she was lied to. I’m really angry and hurt. The following image is of a group chat I had started to several family members. This group text message I had initially sent was replied to but they didn’t know that I could see the responses. For this whole time, we were denied contact to our grandmother. “If you continue with your lies I will continue with the truth”

-Michael Jackson Jr.
please RT this so it doesn’t leave twitter as well as the attached image

July 27 : Randy Jackson on Twitter :

1) When TJ asked my mother if he should ask for temporary guardianship, my Mother told TJ NO – twice.

2) The Estate denied Rebbie, Janet and Jermaine access to the house when they returned to home to Calabasas with a letter written by Howard Weitzman, attorney for the Estate, who is not a resident of the home.

3) The Estate is trying to isolate my Mother from her family JUST LIKE THEY DID TO MICHAEL, in order to propagate their lies, financial agendas and to protect a fraudulent will.

4) The same people that are trying to manipulate my mother are the same people that were involved with my brother when he died.

5) In order to obtain temporary guardianship, TJ lied to the court. Rebbie, Janet, Jermaine and I would never harm our mother and we are doing our best to protect her and the Estate knows that. I want to know why Perry Sanders would consider a negotiation based on lies.

6) It is clear that anyone who stands up against the Executors of the Estate – John Branca, John McClain and their attorney Howard Weitzman – is denied access to my mother.

7) It is my fear and belief, that they are trying to take my mother’s life.
