Sheila engineers Brooke’s relapse
Angered by Brooke’s opposition to her involvement with Finn and Hayes, Sheila switches the champagne intended for Brooke’s New Year’s Eve celebration.
Brooke unknowingly drinks alcohol, kisses Deacon and later struggles to understand why she relapsed. Douglas witnesses the kiss and eventually reveals what he saw.
The resulting crisis damages Brooke and Ridge’s marriage. Thomas learns that Sheila engineered the relapse and initially conceals her involvement, hoping that his parents will reunite. soaphub.com

4. Recasts and SORAS
| Character | Casting change | Date | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taylor Hayes | Hunter Tylo → Krista Allen | December 10, 2021 | Adult-to-adult recast accompanying Taylor’s return. |
| Kelly Spencer | Avalon and Colette Gray → Sophia Paras McKinlay | April 21, 2022, securely documented appearance | Child-to-child recast. |

| Hayes Finnegan | Earlier infant performers → Cooper and Miles Kilian | August 24–25, 2022 | Infant recast. |
| Hayes Finnegan | Kilian twins → Iliana and Vienna Norris | September 7, 2022 | Infant recast, continuing on September 8–9. |
Krista Allen’s debut is confirmed by contemporary interviews and CBS’s talent biography. The children’s changes are documented in contemporary casting coverage. Soap Opera Digest
No child-to-adult SORAS occurs during Season 35. Kelly’s and Douglas’s changes retain them as young children, while Hayes remains an infant.
Two qualifications are useful:
- Some retrospective accounts place McKinlay’s first Kelly appearance in March. April 21 is the date directly supported by contemporary recaps and casting notices.
- Ferri was initially described as a permanent replacement, but Samiri returned on October 10, 2022, making the substitution temporary in practice. That return falls in Season 36. soaphub.com
5. Births
No new on-screen birth involving the principal families was identified during Season 35.
Hayes was born on July 1, 2021, during Season 34. His appearances and several infant casting changes continue here, but his birth should not be repeated as a Season 35 event. soaphub.com
6. New characters
| Character | First appearance | Introduction |
|---|---|---|
| James | November 8, 2021 | Forrester Creations professional contact. |
| Petra | November 11, 2021 | Forrester model. |
| Paul | December 9, 2021 | Il Giardino employee played by Hollis W. Chambers. |
| Malcolm | December 29, 2021 | Bartender involved, unwittingly, in the champagne delivery. |

| Nurse D. Christy | April 2022 | Appears during Steffy’s hospitalization. |
| Cecile | August 1, 2022 | Guest character in the Monaco episodes. |
| Jordan | August 19, 2022 | Deacon’s parole officer. |
Grace is the season’s most substantial newly introduced family character. The other additions are principally supporting or guest roles. Daytime Royalty
Deacon, Taylor, Mike, Bridget, Thorne, Nick and Dr. Armstrong are returning characters. Sheila’s Lina identity is a disguise, not a separate character.
7. Departures
| Character | Date or period | Circumstances |
|---|---|---|
| Shauna Fulton | Last identified appearance: November 2, 2021 | Gradually disappears from the canvas without a major farewell. |
| Bridget Forrester | June 29, 2022 | Her guest run concludes after she and Quinn discover Eric and Donna together. |
| Grace Buckingham | July 2022 | Her initial storyline concludes following Paris’s failed wedding. |
| Quinn Fuller | August 29, 2022 | Rena Sofer’s final episode. |
Quinn’s final appearance is firmly documented. Her last episode does not immediately provide a substantial departure scene; the explanation for her separation from Carter comes later. Daytime Royalty
Other absences require distinction:
- Finn’s apparent April exit is reversed in May.
- Li’s apparent death is reversed in July.
- Steffy’s European stay accommodates a temporary absence, followed by the Monaco reunion.
- Henry Joseph Samiri’s absence is a performer substitution; Douglas remains in the story.

Deacon and Taylor’s return dates are independently documented. Contemporary casting reports establish the anniversary guests and Mike’s return, while the official episode archive confirms Li’s July 21 reappearance. tvline.com
Finn and Li are returns after apparent deaths, not resurrections from deaths that remain established in the story.
9. Weddings
Carter Walton and Paris Buckingham — June 30–July 1, 2022
Their wedding ceremony takes place at Il Giardino, with Charlie officiating. Quinn interrupts after discovering Eric’s affair with Donna and ending their marriage.
Carter and Paris do not complete the marriage. Carter chooses Quinn, leaving Paris at the altar. The interrupted ceremony spans the June 30 and July 1 episodes. soaphub.com
No completed new marriage between principal characters was identified during Season 35.
Steffy and Finn’s wedding occurred on August 6, 2021, in Season 34. Ridge and Taylor’s later attempted wedding belongs to Season 36.
10. Deaths
No principal-character death remains established as genuine by the end of Season 35. The season instead contains several apparent or fabricated deaths.
| Character | Apparent death | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Finn Finnegan | Shot April 1, 2022, then pronounced dead | Revealed alive May 23, 2022, secretly receiving treatment from Li. |
| Li Finnegan | Car crash into the water, June 22, 2022 | Found alive by Bill, July 21, 2022. |
| Sheila Carter | Police report an apparent fatal bear attack, August 11, 2022 | Alive and disguised in the August storyline; her supposed death is a deception. |
These should be recorded as presumed deaths or a faked death, rather than permanent fatalities. cheatsheet.com
11. Y&R / B&B Crossovers
Y&R characters appearing in B&B
No new appearance by a visiting Y&R character was verified within Season 35’s September 23, 2021–September 23, 2022 boundaries.
The nearby crossover most easily misplaced is:
| Character | Performer | B&B date | Season placement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nikki Newman | Melody Thomas Scott | September 26, 2022 | Season 36 premiere, outside Season 35. |
CBS specifically announced the crossover as part of B&B’s Season 36 opening. www.paramountpressexpress.com
B&B characters appearing in Y&R
| Character | Performer | Y&R broadcast dates | Story |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deacon Sharpe | Sean Kanan | September 20 and 21, 2022 | Meets Nikki, who seeks information about his involvement in helping Diane Jenkins fake her death. |
These Y&R appearances occur during B&B Season 35, although Nikki’s B&B continuation airs after Season 36 begins. daytimeroyaltyonline.com
Deacon’s October 2021 return to B&B is a return to his original soap; the September 2022 Y&R visit is the season’s newly broadcast crossover event.
