All dates below refer to the original US broadcasts, unless otherwise stated.
1. Season dates and episode numbers
| Boundary | US broadcast date | Episode |
|---|---|---|
| Season premiere | September 21, 2015 | #7,168 — S29 E1 |
| Season finale | September 16, 2016 | #7,421 — S29 E254 |
| Following season begins | September 19, 2016 | #7,422 |
Total: 254 episodes.
The programme’s official streaming archive identifies Season 29 as episodes #7,168–#7,421 and confirms the premiere date. However, its later “Original Air Date” metadata contains discrepancies: it dates #7,421 September 8, whereas contemporary broadcast records place it on September 16. CBS’s own press archive confirms that #7,417 aired on September 12, supporting the latter chronology. I have therefore used the official season numbering and contemporary US broadcast dates, while flagging this inconsistency. I could not retrieve official CBS or YouTube pages explicitly confirming both boundaries. The Bold and the Beautiful
2. Characters and actors — alphabetical by surname
The following roster covers the principal cast, children and identifiable recurring and guest characters. It is not a certified transcription of every end credit across all 254 episodes: some minor day-player and infant credits remain difficult to verify.
Characters retain their familiar surnames: Maya under Avant, Quinn under Fuller, and Caroline under Spencer. Zende is filed under Dominguez.

Characters without an established surname
| Character — actor | Identification |
|---|---|
| Charlotte portrayed by Camelia Somers | Forrester intern briefly involved with Thomas. |
| Emmy portrayed by Sheryl Underwood | Clerk consulted about the validity of Wyatt and Steffy’s marriage. |
| Eva portrayed by Kelly Kruger | Forrester’s international publicist. |
| Howard portrayed by Orson Bean | Liam’s fellow passenger on his return flight from Australia. |
| Joanne portrayed by Christina Carlisi | Birth-support professional involved in Caroline’s delivery. |
| Saz portrayed by Jai Rodriguez | Photographer working on a Forrester lingerie shoot. |
Infant-credit limitation: broader 2016 records also associate Kyes Bazart, Isabella Djale, Jaliyah Wilson and Janiyah Wilson with Lizzy. I could not establish each child’s first appearance relative to September 16, so I would not assign all those credits confidently to Season 29. These are infant casting changes, not SORAS. Fandom
3. Principal storylines
Ridge and Caroline conceal Douglas’s paternity
The season opens immediately after Ridge and Caroline’s wedding. Ridge learns that his vasectomy reversal has not restored his fertility, while Caroline discovers she is pregnant following her encounter with Thomas.
Caroline tells Ridge the truth, but they decide to raise the baby as Ridge’s child. Ridge sends Thomas to Paris, keeping him away from the pregnancy. After Douglas’s birth, Dr. Wolin threatens to expose Ridge’s infertility. Katie’s investigation eventually forces the truth into the open, allowing Thomas to claim his place as Douglas’s father. The Bold and the Beautiful
Quinn holds Liam captive — the “Adam and Eve” storyline
Following injuries and increasing disorientation, Liam loses his memory. Quinn takes him to her cabin and tells him that his name is Adam, hers is Eve, and they are husband and wife.
She intercepts communications and fabricates evidence that Liam has willingly abandoned Steffy. Their supposed marriage develops into a sexual relationship, while Quinn becomes emotionally attached to the man she is deceiving. Deacon discovers the situation and becomes involved; when he threatens her plans, Quinn pushes him from a cliff.
Wyatt eventually discovers Liam at the cabin. Liam’s memories return sufficiently for him to recognise his brother and seek out Steffy. IMDb
Steffy marries Wyatt while Liam is missing
Believing Liam has rejected her, Steffy grows closer to Wyatt and accepts his proposal. They marry on the beach while Liam remains captive.
His return leaves Steffy torn between her feelings for Liam and her commitment to Wyatt. Quinn’s involvement in their marriage becomes an increasingly destructive issue, particularly once she begins dating Eric. Fandom
Nicole’s surrogacy threatens her relationship with Zende
Rick and Maya ask Nicole to carry their child. She agrees, but Zende struggles with the implications for their relationship and ultimately breaks up with her.
Sasha pursues Zende and becomes his lover. Nicole gives birth to Lizzy, and the emotional circumstances of the delivery help bring her and Zende back together. Sasha subsequently claims she is pregnant in an attempt to retain him, but the deception is exposed. The Bold and the Beautiful
Sasha is revealed as Julius’s daughter
Sasha initially arrives as Nicole’s childhood friend. Julius’s determination to send her away conceals a family secret: she is his daughter from an affair with Lucy Thompson.
The revelation makes Sasha Maya and Nicole’s half-sister and exposes Julius’s longstanding betrayal of Vivienne. It also gives a different meaning to Sasha’s resentment of Nicole’s apparently secure family life. newikis.com
Katie’s drinking and Bill’s renewed affair with Brooke
Brooke’s confession that she still loves Bill revives Katie’s fears about their past betrayal. Katie begins drinking heavily and hiding her alcohol consumption.
Bill and Brooke eventually resume their affair, confirming the betrayal Katie feared. The resulting marital breakdown involves their son Will, financial negotiations and Bill’s Forrester shares. By the closing weeks, Brooke’s proposed marriage to Bill has become entangled with Ridge’s plans to regain control of Forrester. The Bold and the Beautiful
Eric and Quinn’s relationship divides the Forresters
Eric and Quinn begin a secret relationship. During the Monte Carlo storyline, Steffy discovers them together and demands that Eric end it.
Eric refuses to let his family dictate his private life. His support for Quinn creates a widening division within Forrester Creations and intensifies Steffy’s conflict with Wyatt. The season ends with the family trying to stop the relationship; Eric and Quinn’s wedding belongs to Season 30. The Bold and the Beautiful
R.J. returns and challenges Brooke’s wedding plans
R.J. returns from boarding school as a teenager. He strongly opposes Brooke marrying Bill and wants his parents together. His arrival adds another obstacle to a marriage already entangled with the battle over Forrester Creations. Michael Fairman TV
4. Recasts and SORAS
| Character | Casting change | Date | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ridge “R.J.” Forrester Jr. | Previously Mace Coronel; returns played by Anthony Turpel | September 14, 2016 | SORAS: child character returns as a teenager. |
| Douglas Forrester | Multiple infant performers | From March 2016 | Infant casting rotation; not SORAS. |
| Lizzy Forrester | Multiple infant performers | From May 2016 | Infant casting rotation; not SORAS. |
Contemporary casting coverage explicitly announced R.J.’s return as a teenager and Turpel’s September 14 debut. Coronel had already stopped appearing before this season; this is a recast following an absence, rather than an immediate handover. Soap Opera Digest
Thomas’s recast with Pierson Fodé and Zende’s return with Rome Flynn occurred in summer 2015, during Season 28. Both actors continue in Season 29; their introductions should not be counted again here.
5. Births
| Child | US broadcast date | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Douglas Forrester | March 8, 2016 — #7,285 | Caroline gives birth at the Forrester estate. Thomas is the biological father, although Ridge initially claims paternity. |
| Elizabeth Nicole “Lizzy” Forrester | May 17, 2016 — #7,333 | Nicole gives birth to the child she has carried for Rick and Maya. Rick and Nicole are the biological parents; Rick and Maya raise her. |
The contemporary episode records establish March 8 and May 17. The official archive’s episode numbers agree, but its displayed dates for these episodes are earlier, another example of the metadata discrepancy noted above. IMDb
Sasha’s claimed pregnancy does not result in a birth: it is a deception.
6. New characters
| Character | First appearance | Introduction |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Wolin | September 21, 2015 | Ridge’s fertility specialist. |
| Sasha Thompson | December 14, 2015 | Arrives as Nicole’s friend; later revealed as Julius’s daughter. |
| Howard | January 8, 2016 | Liam’s fellow airline passenger; also appears January 11. |
| Douglas Forrester | March 8, 2016 | Born onscreen. |
| Reverend Rydale | March 31, 2016 | Introduced for Wyatt and Steffy’s wedding. |
| Lizzy Forrester | May 17, 2016 | Born onscreen. |
| Saz | June 2016 | Photographer involved in a lingerie shoot. |
| Emmy | June 13, 2016 | Helps investigate whether Wyatt’s marriage is legally valid. |
Kiké Hernández appears as himself on September 12, 2016, rather than playing a newly created fictional character. CBS confirms both the date and episode #7,417. Photos
7. Departures
This season contains several temporary exits and completed guest appearances, rather than a wholesale departure of the principal cast.
| Character / actor | Date or period | Nature of departure |
|---|---|---|
| Ivy Forrester — Ashleigh Brewer | January 2016 | Returns to Australia after the conflict with Steffy. Appears again later in the season. |
| Bridget Forrester — Ashley Jones | February 19, 2016 | Her February guest stint ends. |
| Hope Logan — Kim Matula | March 16, 2016 | One-episode return concludes; this is Matula’s final original appearance as Hope. |
| Dr. Wolin — Mark Damon Espinoza | April 18, 2016 | Dies after being struck by a vehicle. |
| Caroline Spencer — Linsey Godfrey | Summer 2016 | A temporary absence follows the breakdown of her marriage; she returns in the following season. |
Ivy’s departure is followed by a March visit and a more substantial return in August. Bridget’s February run and Hope’s one-day appearance are documented separately from permanent character exits. inquisitr.com
Deacon does not die after Quinn pushes him from the cliff. His appearances become intermittent, but the incident should not be treated as a definitive character departure.
8. Returns of former characters
| Character | Date or period | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Bridget Forrester — Ashley Jones | February 16–19, 2016 | Visits Brooke and discusses the family’s current difficulties. |
| Ivy Forrester — Ashleigh Brewer | March 15, 2016 | Briefly returns from Australia, helping expose how little anyone knows about Liam’s whereabouts. |
| Hope Logan — Kim Matula | March 16, 2016 | One-episode guest return. |
| Eva — Kelly Kruger | July 27–August 4, 2016 | Returns for the international/Monte Carlo episodes. |
| Ivy Forrester — Ashleigh Brewer | August 31, 2016 | Returns after a longer absence and becomes involved in Quinn’s plans. |
| R.J. Forrester — Anthony Turpel | September 14, 2016 | Returns as a teenager, combining a character return with a recast and SORAS. |
Returns outside this season: Thorne returns on September 21, 2016, Felicia on September 22, and Donna on October 20. These belong to Season 30 and should not be included in Season 29’s active cast. soapoperadigest.com
9. Weddings
| Couple | Date | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Steffy Forrester and Wyatt Spencer | April 1, 2016 — #7,301 | Marry on the beach in Malibu, with Reverend Rydale officiating. Wedding preparations and the beginning of the ceremony appear on March 31. |
The April 1 date is supported by contemporary wedding coverage and the production photograph’s original US airdate. Résumé et réactions| Soap-Passion
Other marriages require a boundary distinction:
- Ridge and Caroline’s wedding takes place in September 2015 before the September 21 premiere. Season 29 begins with them already married.
- Rick and Maya’s wedding occurs in August 2015, during Season 28.
- Eric and Quinn’s wedding occurs in late September 2016, during Season 30.
- Brooke and Bill’s proposed wedding does not take place within Season 29. The Bold and the Beautiful
10. Deaths
| Character | Date | Circumstances |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Wolin | April 18, 2016 | Struck by a vehicle while attempting to blackmail Ridge over his infertility and Douglas’s paternity. |
His final appearance is listed on April 18, and subsequent episodes explicitly discuss his death. TVmaze
There is no principal regular-character death during this season. In particular:
- Deacon survives Quinn’s attempt to kill him.
- Liam survives his injuries and captivity.
- Ivy survives her accidents.
- Aly’s death occurred in July 2015, during Season 28.
- Caroline is alive throughout this season; her death occurs years later. Fandom
11. Y&R / B&B Crossovers
| Direction | Character crossovers during Season 29 |
|---|---|
| Y&R characters appearing in B&B | No character crossover identified during September 21, 2015–September 16, 2016. |
| B&B characters appearing in Y&R | No character crossover identified during the same period. |
The available crossover chronology lists activity in 2014 and then again from 2017, with no character crossover recorded for this season. theboldandthebeautiful.fandom.com
Sheryl Underwood’s appearance is not a character crossover. She plays Emmy in B&B, having previously appeared in Y&R as a justice of the peace. Similarly, Deacon’s established history in both soaps does not mean he makes a new Y&R crossover during this season. Soap Opera Digest
