All dates below refer to the original U.S. broadcasts on CBS.
1. Season dates
| Boundary | Date | Overall episode number |
|---|---|---|
| First episode in the September 2013–August 2014 season | September 3, 2013 | #10,236 |
| Last original episode before Season 42 | August 29, 2014 | #10,488 |
| Beginning of Season 42 | September 2, 2014 | #10,489 |
A qualification about the official records: CBS’s surviving press release confirms the September 3–4, 2013 broadcasts, devoted to Katherine Chancellor’s memorial. However, I could not retrieve a CBS or official YouTube archive explicitly identifying both Season 41 boundaries. September 3, 2013–August 29, 2014 is the September-to-September framework used here; the ending date is corroborated by episode records. Some third-party databases incorrectly or inconsistently place earlier 2013 episodes in Season 41. paramountpressexpress.com

It is not a verified transcription of every episode’s closing credits, so I cannot guarantee that every minor doctor, police officer or one-episode speaking role is included. Characters with no established surname appear separately.
For consistency, married characters are generally listed under their familiar character names.

The memorial returnees—Brock, Gina, Danny, Amber, Nina and Father Todd—are explicitly identified in CBS’s announcement. paramountpressexpress.com
Additional identified roles without an established surname:
- Clarence portrayed by J. Downing — an associate of Ian Ward.
- Esmeralda portrayed by Briana Nicole Henry — a model who becomes involved with Devon.
- Raven portrayed by Amanda Leighton — connected to the drug storyline involving Fen and Courtney.

3. Main plots
Katherine Chancellor’s memorial and legacy
The season opens with Genoa City gathering to celebrate Katherine’s life. Former residents return, Danny performs, and Katherine’s letters give several characters a final message. Her will reshapes the town’s balance of power: Devon inherits a fortune, Victor gains control of Chancellor Industries, and Jill becomes absorbed in deciphering Katherine’s cryptic bequest. Katherine’s influence continues throughout the season, particularly through Jill’s treasure hunt and the resulting conflict with Colin. TV Guide
Delia’s death, Connor’s transplant and Adam’s disappearance
Delia is struck by a car and dies on October 14, 2013. Her death devastates Billy and Chloe. Adam comes to believe he was responsible for the accident and conceals his involvement. Meanwhile, Delia’s donated corneas save Connor’s sight, linking Adam and Chelsea’s happiness to Billy and Chloe’s loss. Billy eventually confronts Adam; their confrontation culminates in the January 2014 car crash after which Adam is presumed dead. soapoperadigest.com
Billy and Victoria’s marriage collapses
Billy’s grief draws him toward Kelly, another bereaved parent. Their sexual encounter deepens the damage to his marriage, while Victoria becomes close to Stitch. Victoria’s pregnancy creates uncertainty over whether Billy or Stitch is the father. Kelly subsequently becomes romantically involved with Jack, while Billy and Chelsea grow closer. Fandom
Sharon’s secret and the “Cassie” mystery
Sharon struggles with her mental health, visions of Cassie and her concealed interference in Summer’s paternity test. Her relationship with Nick rekindles, but her secret remains a threat.
The apparent reappearance of Cassie develops into a separate deception: Victor has employed a lookalike, Mariah, to unsettle Sharon. Mariah also turns out to be Tyler’s former girlfriend and connected to Ian Ward. The story ultimately reveals that she is Cassie’s twin sister, stolen at birth, making her Sharon’s daughter. TV Guide
Nikki, Dylan, Paul and Ian Ward
Nikki reveals that Dylan is the son she gave up for adoption. She initially believes Ian Ward, the cult leader who abused her, is his father. Ian returns and exploits her fear and guilt.
The discovery that Ian cannot father children overturns that assumption: Paul is Dylan’s biological father. The revelation becomes particularly urgent when Paul is critically injured and Dylan can help save him. Ian’s manipulation later converges with Mariah’s story, culminating in her abduction and a coerced wedding ceremony. en.wikipedia.org
Hilary, Neil and Devon
After the exposure of her revenge campaign against the Winters family, Hilary begins rebuilding her life. She becomes involved with Neil and marries him, despite her growing attraction to Devon. Devon’s inherited wealth also affects his relationships, including his involvement with Esmeralda. Neil’s loss of sight intensifies the emotional stakes as Hilary and Devon struggle with their feelings. Résumé et réactions| Soap-Passion
Carmine’s supposed murder and Fen’s imprisonment
Carmine’s obsession with Lauren brings further turmoil to the Baldwin family. After he is apparently killed, Michael initially takes responsibility to protect Fen. Fen’s imprisonment exposes him to Womack’s intimidation. Michael eventually discovers Carmine alive in witness protection, securing Fen’s exoneration. Womack later brings violence to the Valentine’s gala. en.wikipedia.org
Summer and Austin
Austin arrives as the cameraman for Avery’s online cooking show. His hidden grievance against Avery develops into a kidnapping and shooting storyline in which Paul is injured. Summer nevertheless falls in love with him and stands by him. Their rapid marriage alarms her family, while Phyllis remains in a coma. Wikipedia
4. Births
No major continuing character is born during the September 3, 2013–August 29, 2014 period.
Two births close to this season’s boundaries are easy to misplace:
| Child | Birth date | Placement |
|---|---|---|
| Connor Newman | August 12, 2013 | Before this season’s September opening |
| Katherine “Katie” Abbott | November 17, 2014 | Season 42 |
Victoria’s pregnancy belongs to Season 41, but Katie’s birth does not. Wikipedia

The Billy changes, Kelly’s replacement and Tognoni’s debut are documented in contemporary casting reports. TV Guide
There is no major child-to-teenager or child-to-adult SORAS during this season. Faith’s change of actress is a child-to-child recast. Mariah’s introduction is a new role for Camryn Grimes, rather than a recast or resurrection of Cassie. Soap Opera Digest

Tyler Michaelson’s final appearance is September 30, 2014, so his departure belongs to Season 42, despite the reduction in his role earlier in 2014. soapcentral.com
8. Returns of former characters

| Phyllis Summers | August 11, 2014 | Returns to the screen with Gina Tognoni in the role. |
| Grace Turner | August 19, 2014 | Nick seeks information relevant to the Mariah mystery. |
CBS confirms the memorial guests; contemporary reports establish Ashley’s visits, Colin’s return and Grace’s August appearance. paramountpressexpress.com
Phyllis’s August 11 actor debut should be distinguished from her later awakening and eventual return to Genoa City.
9. Weddings and marriages
| Couple | Date | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Paul Williams and Christine Blair | September 2013 | Remarry around the time of Katherine’s memorial. |
| Adam Newman and Chelsea Lawson | January 24, 2014 | Remarry shortly before Adam’s confrontation with Billy. |
| Jill Foster Abbott and Colin Atkinson | February 5, 2014 | Their remarriage is revealed when they return. |
| Kevin Fisher and Chloe Mitchell | March 2014 | Remarry after Chloe’s abduction of Connor; their marriage also has legal implications for her case. |
| Leslie Michaelson and Barton Shelby | Spring 2014, off-screen | Leslie announces that she has married Barton after ending her engagement to Neil. |
| Neil Winters and Hilary Curtis | June 24–25, 2014 | Their wedding takes place in Chancellor Park. |

| Summer Newman and Austin Travers | July 14, 2014 | Church ceremony following the civil marriage. |
| Ian Ward and Mariah Copeland | August 29, 2014 | Coerced ceremony while Mariah is drugged and held captive; it should not be treated as a consensual wedding. |
Adam and Chelsea’s January ceremony, Jill’s remarriage, Leslie’s off-screen marriage and Summer’s two ceremonies are documented in episode summaries and character histories. I have retained month-level dating where the exact ceremony date was not securely established. Plex
10. Deaths
| Character | Date | Circumstances |
|---|---|---|
| Delia Abbott | October 14, 2013 | Dies after being struck by a car. |
| Richard Womack | February 19, 2014 | Fatally shot during a struggle with Colin in the Valentine’s gala storyline. |
Delia’s death is confirmed in retrospective soap histories; Womack’s death concludes his prison-and-gala storyline. soapoperadigest.com
Important distinctions:
- Katherine Chancellor: her death is announced in August 2013, before the period covered here; her memorial opens this season.
- Carmine Basco: apparently murdered in October 2013, but revealed alive in February 2014.
- Adam Newman: presumed dead after the January 2014 crash; his subsequent return with Justin Hartley belongs to Season 42. paramountpressexpress.com
11. Y&R / B&B Crossovers
B&B characters appearing on Y&R
| Character | Actor | Date | Story |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rick Forrester | portrayed by Jacob Young | April 14, 2014 | Visits Genoa City for Chelsea’s fashion show. |
| Caroline Spencer Forrester | portrayed by Linsey Godfrey | April 14, 2014 | Accompanies Rick to the fashion show. |
The fashion-show storyline runs across April 11–16, but that broader window should not be confused with the characters’ individual appearance dates. April 14 is the date clearly identified for the crossover; I could not securely verify a second broadcast date, despite some summaries describing a two-episode visit. TV Guide
Y&R characters appearing on B&B
I found no confirmed crossover appearance by a Y&R character on B&B during September 3, 2013–August 29, 2014.
Two related appearances require a distinction:
- Amber Moore’s September 2013 return to Y&R concerns a character shared by both soaps, attending Katherine’s memorial.
- Jennifer Gareis’s August 19, 2014 appearance is as Grace Turner, her former Y&R character. She does not appear as B&B’s Donna Logan, so this is an actor returning to another role rather than a Donna Logan crossover. paramountpressexpress.com
