3. Main plots
Hope, Liam and Wyatt: the love triangle becomes a family rivalry
Hope’s relationship with Liam faces sustained competition from Wyatt, newly established as Bill’s son and Liam’s half-brother. Wyatt’s partnership with Hope through the Hope for the Future diamond gives him both romantic and professional opportunities.
Quinn repeatedly intervenes for her son. Her manipulation of Liam and Hope’s relationship includes using Steffy’s presence to undermine another planned wedding. Hope subsequently becomes involved with Wyatt, while Liam refuses to abandon the relationship. YouTube
Quinn’s interference escalates
Quinn’s determination to secure Hope for Wyatt becomes increasingly dangerous. She interferes with business, relationships and Liam’s safety, including trapping him in a steam room.
The decisive intervention comes in Paris: Quinn pushes Ivy into the Seine, forcing Liam to rescue her and preventing him from reaching Hope at their agreed rendezvous. Believing Liam has let her down again, Hope leaves with Wyatt and marries him in Monte Carlo. The Bold and the Beautiful
By September, Liam, Ivy, Pam and Charlie uncover what happened. The season ends with Wyatt pleading with Hope to preserve their marriage despite Quinn’s actions. The Bold and the Beautiful
Brooke, Katie, Bill and Ridge
Brooke and Bill’s relationship continues to damage Brooke’s bond with Katie. Their personal conflict also involves control of Spencer Publications and Bill’s relationship with his son Will.
Ridge returns from Paris and initially appears poised to reunite with Brooke. Learning about her involvement with Bill changes his view, while his friendship with Katie develops into love. Katie and Ridge become a couple, creating a new division between the Logan sisters. Brooke, in turn, moves back toward Bill. TV Source Magazine
The Abu Dhabi wedding and Ridge’s fall
Brooke and Bill travel to the United Arab Emirates to marry. Ridge arrives to stop the wedding after learning about Bill’s sexual encounter with Quinn.
The confrontation leads to Ridge being taken away by helicopter and falling into the water. He survives, but the aftermath includes a devastating professional problem: he can no longer draw his designs properly. His eventual collaboration with Caroline begins to restore his ability to create, while establishing a new source of tension with Rick. The Bold and the Beautiful
Rick, Caroline, Maya and Carter
Rick and Caroline reconcile and marry. Maya, although engaged to Carter, continues to have feelings for Rick.
At Forrester Creations, Rick’s authority comes under pressure after Ridge returns. Later, Caroline’s creative partnership with Ridge begins complicating both the business hierarchy and her marriage. The full fallout develops in the following season. Soap Opera Digest
Aly, Oliver and the legacy of Darla’s death
Aly returns as a young woman and joins Forrester Creations. She idealizes Hope and strongly disapproves of Wyatt and Quinn.
Her romance with Oliver initially raises concerns about whether he is using her to protect his position at the company. Maya records remarks that cast doubt on his intentions, but Oliver’s feelings develop beyond that initial calculation.
Aly’s unresolved grief also becomes central. Darla appears to her in visions, and Taylor’s relationship with Thorne forces Aly to confront the woman responsible for her mother’s fatal accident. en.wikipedia.org
Deacon returns
Deacon reappears in June 2014 and becomes involved with Quinn, while also seeking another chance with Brooke. He scrutinizes the circumstances surrounding Ricardo Montemayor’s death and Wyatt’s inheritance of the diamond, suspecting Quinn of engineering events for her son’s benefit. | Character | Change | Date | Explanation |

Thorsten Kaye’s debut date was announced in contemporary casting coverage. TV Source Magazine
Pearce’s casting was explicitly described as a SORAS. Episode records place her first appearance on November 19, rather than the earlier November dates sometimes repeated in summaries. soapoperanetwork.com
R.J.’s casting as Mace Coronel began in 2013, but it should not be described as a child-to-adult SORAS: he remains a child during this season. Will also remains a young child. Wikipedia
5. Births
No major continuing character is born during Season 27.
Will Spencer was already born before this season. Hope has a pregnancy scare in April 2014, but the test is negative. Her later pregnancy and miscarriage storyline should not be confused with a birth during this period; the miscarriage occurs in December 2014, during Season 28. The Bold and the Beautiful

10. Deaths
| Character | Date | Circumstances |
|---|---|---|
| Ricardo Montemayor | Summer 2014; exact death date not securely established | Dies off-screen. Wyatt inherits the diamond, and the circumstances prompt suspicion of murder and questions about Quinn’s involvement. |
By August 1, 2014, episode summaries explicitly describe the possibility that Ricardo’s death was murder. His later appearance range includes recorded material, so it should not be treated as his actual date of death. The Bold and the Beautiful
No central regular character dies during Season 27. Ridge survives the helicopter fall. Darla’s death occurred in 2006, and Stephanie’s in 2012; their continued influence does not represent a new death in this season.
11. Y&R / B&B Crossovers
Y&R characters appearing in B&B
No confirmed appearance by a Y&R character falls within September 23, 2013–September 19, 2014.
The nearby crossover that can cause confusion is:
| Character | Actor | Date | Season |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gloria Bardwell | portrayed by Judith Chapman | November 20, 2014 | B&B Season 28 |
Gloria attends a Forrester fashion show and reconnects with Eric. Her visit is outside Season 27. Michael Fairman TV
B&B characters appearing in Y&R
| Character | Actor | Confirmed date | Story |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rick Forrester | portrayed by Jacob Young | April 14, 2014 | Attends Chelsea’s fashion show in Genoa City. |
| Caroline Spencer Forrester | portrayed by Linsey Godfrey | April 14, 2014 | Accompanies Rick to Chelsea’s fashion show. |
Contemporary announcements place the fashion-show storyline across April 11–16. April 14 is the securely identified crossover date; although some histories describe a two-episode visit, I could not confirm a second individual broadcast date. www.tvguide.com
Jennifer Gareis’s August 19, 2014 appearance on Y&R is as Grace Turner, her former character on that soap. It is not a crossover by Donna Logan. Likewise, Kelly Kruger’s appearance as Eva on B&B is a separate role from Mackenzie Browning on Y&R. www.soapoperanetwork.com
