2. Main storylines
Katherine’s “death,” Marge’s identity and the Chancellor family
Katherine’s memory problems lead to a major identity mystery involving her lookalike, Marge Cotrooke. Following a car crash, Marge dies and is mistaken for Katherine, while Katherine survives with amnesia. Murphy takes her in, believing she is Marge.
Amber becomes central to proving Katherine’s identity. DNA tests initially appear to discredit Katherine because they show no biological relationship with Jill. The eventual explanation overturns an earlier revelation: Katherine and Jill are not mother and daughter. That also means Billy and Mackenzie are not cousins, reopening their romantic possibilities. Fandom
Clint Radison returns with Roger and Annie Wilkes. Their schemes involve Esther, Katherine’s fortune and Katherine’s captivity. Clint subsequently terrorizes Kevin, whose childhood trauma resurfaces as he is forced into criminal activity. Katherine eventually regains her life and marries Murphy. en.wikipedia.org
Billy, Chloe, Cane and Mackenzie
Billy returns to Genoa City and discovers that Chloe’s baby, supposedly Cane’s, is actually his. Delia’s birth exposes the paternity deception, allowing Cane and Lily to reunite.
Billy and Chloe marry, but Mackenzie’s return complicates their relationship immediately. Once the supposed blood relationship between Billy and Mac is disproved, their unfinished love story becomes a major obstacle to Billy’s marriage. Soap Opera Digest
Phillip is alive—and Cane is an impostor
The season rewrites Chancellor history again when Phillip Chancellor III is revealed to be alive. Cane is not Jill’s long-lost son: he has participated in a deception connected to Phillip.
Phillip’s return forces him to confront Jill, Nina and his son, Chance. He explains that he is gay and fled the life expected of him. Chance returns as a young adult, bringing another generation of the family into the story. TVmaze
Victor, Ashley and Adam’s manipulation
Still grieving Sabrina, Victor reconnects with Ashley in Paris. Their reunion develops into another marriage.
Adam’s revenge against Victor increasingly targets Ashley. He manipulates her surroundings and exploits Sabrina’s memory to undermine her mental stability. Ashley loses her pregnancy, but Adam conceals what has happened, allowing her to continue believing she is pregnant. He also uses Rafe’s attraction to him to divert suspicion from his activities. soapcentral.com
Sharon, Nick, Phyllis and Jack
Nick and Sharon’s unresolved feelings destabilize their marriages. Their Paris reunion deepens the conflict with Phyllis and Jack.
Sharon’s emotional deterioration includes stealing and increasingly erratic choices. Her pregnancy creates a paternity mystery involving Nick, Jack and Billy. Summer’s medical crisis further complicates Nick’s attempt to choose between Sharon and his family with Phyllis. soapcentral.com
Mary Jane Benson is Patty Williams
Victor brings “Mary Jane Benson” into Jack’s orbit as part of his campaign against him. She is eventually revealed as Patty Williams, Jack’s former wife and Paul’s sister.
Patty’s obsession with Jack becomes dangerous. Her actions include harming Summer, while her increasingly unstable behavior creates a crisis that continues beyond this season’s early-September endpoint. en.wikipedia.org
Brad’s death
During the winter storm storyline, Brad saves Noah after he falls through the ice. Brad dies following the rescue, leaving Colleen and Abby grieving and changing the balance of the Carlton, Abbott and Newman families. wiki.sizzltek.com
Neil, Karen, Tyra and Ana
Neil and Karen marry, but their efforts to care for Ana become entangled with Tyra’s custody battle and her attraction to Neil. Karen’s wish to adopt Ana intensifies the conflict.
Neil’s involvement with Tyra destroys his marriage. Later revelations about Tyra’s family background also complicate her relationship with Devon. kiwix.scoggi.net
Lily’s cancer diagnosis
After marrying Cane, Lily discovers that his identity is a lie. Their relationship faces another major test when she is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, raising fears about her survival and her ability to have children. Fandom
Daniel, Amber and Deacon
Daniel becomes entangled in an art-related criminal investigation involving an impostor posing as federal agent Howard Aucker. Deacon’s arrival brings Amber’s B&B history directly into her Genoa City life, and he uses Daniel’s predicament to exert pressure on her. Daytime Confidential
