Main plots

Brooke’s recovery and Stephanie’s responsibility

The season opens with the aftermath of Brooke’s sexual assault by Andy Johnson. Brooke struggles with trauma, while Ridge supports her recovery. Stephanie’s actions before the assault become a major source of conflict: Brooke and her family confront her over having enabled Andy to gain access to Brooke.

Ridge becomes engaged to Ashley but ultimately chooses Brooke. Stephanie’s involvement in Brooke’s ordeal also contributes to the breakdown of her marriage to Eric. The Bold and the Beautiful

Jack’s birth and the embryo mix-up

Taylor gives birth to Nick’s son, Jack, on October 15, 2007. When the baby develops a serious medical condition, tests reveal that Brooke is his biological mother, because her egg was mistakenly used during Taylor’s fertility treatment.

Brooke helps save Jack through a bone-marrow donation. Taylor struggles with the discovery and with bonding with the baby; Brooke’s attachment to Jack creates further conflict among Brooke, Taylor, Nick and Ridge. The Bold and the Beautiful

Taylor and Nick separate

Taylor’s distress over Jack’s biological parentage intensifies. Her drinking and emotional instability lead to concerns about the baby’s care. Nick seeks James Warwick’s help, but his marriage to Taylor breaks down. Taylor subsequently becomes involved with Rick, a relationship that provokes strong reactions from Brooke and Phoebe. The Bold and the Beautiful

Who shot Stephanie?

Stephanie is shot at Forrester Creations on November 21, 2007. Several members of the Logan family fall under suspicion, and Stephen is arrested after evidence is found in his hotel room.

Storm eventually admits that he shot Stephanie and framed his father. Stephanie uses this knowledge to pressure Donna into abandoning Eric, offering to help protect Storm and clear Stephen. The Bold and the Beautiful

Eric, Donna and Stephanie

Eric pursues a relationship with Donna despite Stephanie’s opposition and the objections of his children. Stephanie attempts to break them apart through pressure and blackmail.

Eric and Stephanie divorce, and Eric marries Donna in May 2008. The marriage shifts the family balance and deepens the hostility between Donna and several Forresters. The Bold and the Beautiful

Storm’s death and Katie’s heart transplant

Katie is accidentally shot during a confrontation involving Storm and Ashley. Her condition becomes critical, and she needs a heart transplant.

On April 28, 2008, Storm dies by suicide, intending for his heart to save Katie. Katie receives the transplant but struggles with grief, anger and survivor’s guilt. Her body subsequently shows signs of rejecting the organ, creating another medical crisis. The Bold and the Beautiful

Katie, Nick and Bridget

Nick supports Katie during her illness and takes her to Catalina Island. Believing that she may be dying, Katie becomes intimate with him. Bridget’s experimental treatment helps Katie recover.

Nick then remarries Bridget, but Katie discovers that she is pregnant with his child. This sets up the next major crisis in their relationships. The Bold and the Beautiful

Donna’s secret son

Marcus arrives and asks Donna whether she is his biological mother. Donna admits that she gave him up for adoption when she was young.

She tries to bring him into her life while fearing the reaction of Eric and his children. Steffy befriends Marcus, and their relationship develops as the truth about his parentage emerges. The Bold and the Beautiful

Beth Logan returns

Beth’s absence during Storm’s death and Katie’s medical crisis raises questions. Nick travels to Paris and encourages her to reconnect with her daughters. Her return exposes difficulties that go beyond a simple family estrangement. daytimedial.blogspot.com

Owen, Eric’s poisoning and Pam’s escalation

Owen arrives in Los Angeles and becomes involved with Donna. When Eric falls into a coma, suspicion surrounds Owen, but Pam’s actions become central to the poisoning storyline.

Pam’s hostility toward Donna escalates into physical danger, while Owen becomes her protector. Eric’s recovery and the consequences for Donna’s marriage continue into September, beyond this guide’s cutoff. Fandom

Recasts and SORAS

CharacterChangeDateClassification
Steffy ForresterAlex Hoover → Jacqueline MacInnes WoodJune 4, 2008Return with an older actress and a young-adult presentation. Steffy had already undergone earlier aging, so this is not her first SORAS.
Beth LoganNancy Burnett → Robin RikerJune 18, 2008Adult character recast on her return.
Jack MaroneCameron and McKenzie Carr → Edward and Jake NigborMay 2008, according to historical child-cast recordsInfant recast; no adult SORAS.
Dominick “Dino” DamianoEric and Jacob Steinberger → Andrew and Jacob Scotto2008, exact date uncertainChild recast; no major aging established.

Steffy’s casting also changes the presentation of the twins: Steffy and Phoebe are treated as fraternal rather than identical twins. en.wikipedia.org

Two important changes happened before this season’s September boundary:

  • Rick: Kyle Lowder had already replaced Justin Torkildsen earlier in 2007.
  • Katie: Heather Tom had taken over the role in late August 2007.

They are therefore the established actors at the beginning of this guide, rather than recasts occurring within it. Wikipedia
