The first image above is especially valuable: it is a CBS Broadcasting publicity cast portrait explicitly identified as the Season 5 (1991–1992) cast. It shows the expanded ensemble after the original Caroline era and during the period dominated by Brooke, Ridge, Taylor, Stephanie and the Spectras.

Major plots

Stephanie’s homelessness and amnesia. Season 5 opens with Stephanie living anonymously on the streets of Los Angeles. She has apparently lost her memory and befriends homeless woman Ruthanne Owens. Sally recognizes Stephanie and tries to convince the Forresters that she has seen her, while the family initially doubts her. The official Season 5 synopsis specifically identifies Stephanie’s homelessness and memory loss as the story launching the season. (Les Bold et Belle)

Stephanie eventually returns to her family. Her memory gradually comes back — but she does not immediately admit it. By May 31, Ridge confronts her, and shortly afterward she acknowledges that she remembers her former life and still wants Eric. (Les Bold et Belle)

Ridge, Taylor, Brooke and Blake. Season 5 effectively creates the classic Ridge–Brooke–Taylor triangle. Ridge develops increasingly serious feelings for Taylor, but Taylor’s ex-husband Blake Hayes arrives determined to reclaim her. Blake is possessive and manipulative, and his obsession with keeping Ridge away from Taylor becomes one of the season’s major stories.

Ridge proposes to Taylor in S5 E66, and Taylor initially struggles to accept because she knows he still loves Brooke. Eventually she agrees to marry him only if he can promise that he will not abandon her should Brooke become available. (Les Bold et Belle)

But the engagement falls apart. On the anniversary of Caroline’s death, Taylor returns Ridge’s ring — and Brooke and Ridge immediately reconnect emotionally. (Les Bold et Belle)

Brooke and Ridge finally give in to their feelings. Brooke is still married to Eric, but her attraction to Ridge becomes overwhelming. Brooke’s scientific work at Forrester Creations provides the setting for the turning point: she successfully develops a wrinkle-free linen formula, and she and Ridge celebrate by kissing — then making love in the laboratory. The official archive places the breakthrough and their sexual reunion in S5 E94–95, July 1991. (Les Bold et Belle)

Their affair threatens Eric and Brooke’s marriage and becomes the emotional center of the second half of the season.

Stephanie spies on Brooke — and forges Eric’s letter. Stephanie wants Brooke out of Eric’s life so that she can reclaim him. She hires Conway Weston to bug Brooke’s research laboratory, secretly recording Brooke and Ridge. (Les Bold et Belle)

Her manipulation eventually becomes even more extreme. Stephanie has a handwriting expert create a false version of a letter from Eric to Brooke. Ridge discovers what happened, and Stephanie finally admits that she had the letter forged. (Les Bold et Belle)

The deception backfires spectacularly: Brooke admits to Eric that she loves Ridge.

Eric refuses to surrender Brooke. Eric is devastated when Brooke tells him the truth about Ridge, but instead of immediately granting her a divorce, he decides to fight for his marriage. Brooke temporarily moves back in with him under an agreement that he will eventually let her go. Eric repeatedly insists that he still loves her, while Stephanie waits for him to return to her. (Les Bold et Belle)

This triangle — Eric/Brooke/Ridge, with Stephanie and Taylor on opposite sides — drives the season toward its finale.

Sally’s pregnancy and Clarke’s betrayal. Sally discovers in May 1991 that she is pregnant with Clarke’s child. Clarke reacts terribly and encourages her to have an abortion. Sally goes to the doctor but ultimately does not terminate the pregnancy, initially keeping that decision from Clarke. (Les Bold et Belle)

Meanwhile Clarke continues his affair with Julie DeLorean. Sally’s pregnancy therefore unfolds alongside Clarke’s attempts to maintain his marriage for financial reasons while pursuing Julie.

Sally eventually realizes how badly Clarke has betrayed her, but her feelings for him remain complicated. Clarke later tries to convince her that he wants to become a genuine father to their baby.

The birth of C.J. Garrison. Sally goes into labor in late October. In S5 E168, the doctor announces that she has delivered a small but healthy son. (Les Bold et Belle)

The child is Clarke “C.J.” Garrison Jr., son of Sally Spectra and Clarke Garrison. Character records give his first appearance/birth as October 29, 1991. (WikiZero)

Thorne, Macy, Jake and Felicia. Thorne and Macy’s marriage begins to disintegrate. Macy becomes attracted to Jake Maclaine, while Jake’s relationship with Felicia is also unstable. Macy and Jake become lovers, but Macy remains emotionally tied to Thorne.

Eventually Macy realizes that she still loves her husband. In October she ends her affair with Jake and moves back toward Thorne. (Les Bold et Belle)

The repercussions continue into early 1992, however, with Thorne blaming Jake for destroying his marriage. (Les Bold et Belle)

Brooke’s Belief formula changes Forrester Creations. Brooke’s wrinkle-free linen discovery is not merely a romantic plot device. It becomes a major corporate storyline. Forrester Creations prepares the formula for commercial exploitation, while rival Spectra Fashions becomes involved in attempts to obtain it. In February 1992, Eric publicly introduces Brooke as the person behind the breakthrough. (Les Bold et Belle)

This story is important historically because it begins Brooke’s transformation from merely a Logan romantic heroine into a genuine business and scientific power within Forrester Creations.

Births

Clarke “C.J.” Garrison Jr. — October 29, 1991

Parents: Sally Spectra and Clarke Garrison

C.J. is the one major live birth of Season 5. Sally learns she may be pregnant in May; the pregnancy is confirmed the following episode. Clarke wants her to have an abortion, but Sally chooses to continue the pregnancy. (Les Bold et Belle)

By September, Sally and Macy are already discussing names for her baby boy. (Les Bold et Belle) She gives birth in S5 E168, and character chronology places C.J.’s birth/first appearance on October 29, 1991. (WikiZero)

Season 5 births: 1 — C.J. Garrison.

Marriages

Unlike Seasons 3 and 4, Season 5 contains no major wedding involving one of the central Forrester/Spectra couples.

Several relationships move toward marriage without reaching the altar during the season. Ridge proposes to Taylor, but the engagement collapses; Blake repeatedly talks about remarrying Taylor, but they do not; Brooke wants a divorce from Eric so that she can eventually marry Ridge, but Eric initially refuses. (Les Bold et Belle)

There is one secondary reconciliation worth recording: Ruthanne and her estranged husband Mitch decide to reunite and remarry after Ruthanne is reunited with Mitch and their children. By S5 E99, Ruthanne explicitly tells Stephanie that she and Mitch are going to remarry. (Les Bold et Belle) The archive evidence I found establishes their intention to remarry, but not a major on-screen wedding ceremony, so I would not count it as a documented Season 5 wedding without further episode evidence.

Also important: Ridge and Taylor do not marry in Season 5. Their famous first wedding occurs in May 1992, Season 6. (Les Bold et Belle)

Documented major on-screen marriages: 0.

Deaths

No major character dies during Season 5

The official B&B death/miscarriage archive identifies major deaths such as Caroline’s death in Season 4, but Season 5 does not contain an equivalent major character death. (Les Bold et Belle)

Therefore, for a strict March 8, 1991–March 13, 1992 chronology:

Major deaths: 0.

That distinction matters because Season 5 contains considerable emotional turmoil — Stephanie’s apparent disappearance, Blake’s instability, Sally’s difficult pregnancy and several relationship collapses — but none should be misclassified as a death.

Season 5 is especially important because it establishes the basic romantic structure that will define B&B for decades. Caroline is gone, Taylor is now Brooke’s principal rival for Ridge, Stephanie is actively trying to reclaim Eric, Brooke and Ridge finally become lovers again, and Eric refuses to give Brooke up. At the same time, Sally gives birth to C.J., Clarke’s betrayals intensify the Spectra drama, and Brooke’s scientific discovery makes her increasingly important to Forrester Creations. The official Season 5 synopsis appropriately describes the year as one in which Stephanie returns from homelessness, Ridge and Brooke’s forbidden feelings reach a breaking point, and deception increasingly drives the characters’ lives.
