January 18 : Janet & Gil arrive at Heathrow International Airport in London after flying in from Los Angeles.

January 20 : Janet has dinner at Mayfair restaurant Cipriani  with Gil, supermodels Jerry Hall and Caprice, and Prince Azem of Brunei and then they go to nearby nightclub Mahiki for a party in celebration of President Obama’s inauguration.

January 21 : LaToya (who has just been evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house) and Tito visit Janet at her London hotel.

January 23 : Janet & Gil fly back to L.A.

January 26 : Janet has postponed her “Rock Witchu Tour” in Japan next month because of the global financial crisis. The tour will be rescheduled for later this year. New dates are expected to be announced in late March.

February 08 : Jimmy Jam reveals that he is currently working on a new project with Janet.

March 01 : Janet has lunch with Johnny Gil at a burrito restaurant in El Chavo, California.

March 21 : Janet flies from L.A to Atlanta.

March 24 : Janet & JD fly from Atlanta to NYC.

March 25 : Janet & JD visit the Waverly Inn in NYC.

April : Janet starts recording new tracks with Jimmy Jam in Los Angeles.

May 14 : Janet attend Katherine & Joe 60th wedding anniversary at an Indian restaurant in Beverly Hills with the whole family (Jackie, Rebbie, Tito, Jermaine, Latoya, Marlon, Michael and their children). Randy is the only one not attending. This is the last time Michael sees most of his family including Janet & LaToya.

May 16 : Janet celebrates her 43rd birthday with her nephew Austin.

May 25 : Janet and her brother Jermaine are spotted leaving Nice in France.

June 07 : Janet attends LaToya’s surprise birthday party in L.A with Joe, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Taj, Taryll, TJ, Auggie, Jermaine, Jr, Autumn, Jaimy, Jeremy, Jourdyn, Genevieve, Steveanna, Randy Jr, Donte and Jaafar. Michael does not attend the party.

June 11 : Janet arrives in London with Gil. She attends the launch of the MCM store and charity event held by Prince Azim of Brunei.

June 13 : Janet & Gil attend Prince Azim of Brunei’s birthday party at Stapleford Park in Leicestershire with many stars (Mariah Carey, Joan Collins etc.).

June 16 : Janet & Gil fly back to NYC.

June 22 : Filming has started on “Why Did I Get Married, Too” in Atlanta, Georgia. Janet’s character Patricia from the original film is being reprised along with the entire original cast. Janet is still in New York City preparing to leave soon to Atlanta.

June 25 : LaToya calls Janet and tells her the tragic news that Michael has just died from cardiac arrest! Her manager Kenneth Crear releases the following statement as reported live on CNN: “Janet Jackson is grief stricken and devastated at the sudden loss of her brother. She is in pre-production for a movie and is flying immediately to California to be with her family.”

Janet flies from NYC to L.A. At night Janet goes to Michael’s Carolwood home with LaToya, Jeffré Phillips, Ron Boud. Rebbie, Katherine & Trent.

June 27 : Janet sends moving trucks to Michael’s home in Beverly Hills.

June 28 : Janet makes a surprise appearance at the BET Awards where she gives a short speech on behalf of the Jackson family thanking everyone for their support following the death of her brother Michael. The previously scheduled awards show ends up turning into a tribute to the King of Pop, who is honored throughout the entire night.

July 05 : Janet and JD are spotted getting burgers and drinks in Malibu, California ((it’s the last time they are seen together before they break up)

July 06 : The Jackson family has a private open coffin viewing of Michael’s body at Forest Lawn cemetary with Karen Faye and Michael Bush’ s help to make Michael look beautiful for eternity.

July 07 : The whole Jackson family and friends attend a private memorial early in the morning at Forest Lawn cemetary. Then they go to the public memorial at the Staples Center in downtown L.A. The tribute show is aired live all around the world. At the end, the Jackson family and all the artist perform “We Are The World” and “Heal The World” with Prince, Paris and Blanket. Paris ends the tribute with a moving speech calling Michael “the best daddy you could ever imagine” before breaking in Janet’s arms. Following the memorial at Staples, the family has a lunch reception at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel ballroom with a couple hundred of their nearest and dearest friends.

July 8 : Janet flies to the Bahamas to start the filming of “Why Did I Get Married II”.

Late July : Janet completes the filming of Why Did I Get Married, Too? in Atlanta.

August 3 : Janet’s official website, janetjackson.com re-opens with a new look and new features. In addition, the site contains links to Janet’s official YouTube, Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook pages.

The website states: Later this year, Janet will publish her first book, providing an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with issues of self-esteem. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her uniquely successful career not only in music but in television and motion pictures. The next months and new year will also bring another film starring Janet as she joins Tyler Perry in his sequel, Why Did I Get Married Too, followed by a new album slated to released during the first quarter of 2010.

August 24 : The Foundation for AIDS Research, also known as amfAR, has officially announced in a press release that Janet will co-chair amfAR Milano on September 28, along with Asia Argento, Roberto Bolle, Dr. Hermann Buhlbecker, Andrea Castronovo, Dean and Dan Caten, Lapo Elkann, and Cristina Lucchini.

August 29 : Janet writes a message with a picture of her and Michael as children on her official websites.

September 03 : Michael is finally buried in The Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA. The service is attended by approximately 200 family and close friends. The pallbearers are Michael’s five brothers : Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy Jackson. At the beginning of the ceremony, Prince, Paris & Blanket put a crown on their father’s coffin to signify the final resting place of the King of Pop. The opening prayer is delivered by Pastor Lucius Smith. Gladys Knight sings the gospel hymn “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” accompanied by Greg Phillinganes. Songwriter Clifton Davis sings The Jackson 5 song “Never Can Say Goodbye,” Following the funerals the family and the guests go to Villa Sorriso Ristorante — an Italian restaurant in Pasadena.

September 07 : Janet starts rehearsing for a Michael Jackson tribute at the MTV Video Awards in a L.A studio with Wade Robsin, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Cris Judd, Travis Payne, Tina Landon, Dave Scott, Tyce Diorio, Jerry Slaughter, Laurie Ann Gibson & Gil Duldulao.

The title of her new book “True You” is also confirmed and will be released next year. The article also states that her new album will come out next spring and that she will go on tour next year, however it does not explain whether the tour simply means a promotional tour or a concert tour.

September 11 : Janet arrives in NYC.

September 12 : Janet makes her dress rehearsals at the Radio City Music Hall.

September 13 : Janet opens the MTV Video Music Awards with a special performance of Scream in tribute to Michael. Gil Duldulao & Tina Landon are among the dancers with her.

September 16 : Janet joins Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Baily and a group of editors and designers for dinner at Indochine to celebrate Janet’s cover of the October issue of the magazine.

The release confirms the previously announced November 17 release date in the US and reveals a November 23 international release date. The international edition of the album will be titled Janet Jackson: The Best. The press release spells the album’s title as “Number Ones” and not “#1’s” as it was previously being referred to.

Janet’s voice can be heard in this episode during a phone conversation between her and The Jacksons on her last birthday.

Most of the singers participating in the song, which included Barbara Streisand, Kanye West, Celine Dion, Tony Bennett, LL Cool J, will.i.am, and Josh Groban, recorded their vocals together on February 1 at the same Hollywood studio where the original version of the song was made.

Janet, however, records her lines from a studio in Atlanta.

The song and video for the 25th anniversary recording of “We Are the World”  have its world premiere during NBC’s live broadcast of the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Vancouver.

Immediately following the televised premiere, both the song and video are made available to purchase on iTunes. Proceeds of each download go to the We Are the World Foundation, a non-profit organization whose funds will be directed to worthwhile charities, hand-selected by the board of directors, which include Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie. The artists have agreed to forego payment, so the Foundation can receive a greater share of the proceeds. iTunes has even waived its share of the proceeds for downloads for the first months of the Foundation’s campaign. Additional donations to the Foundation can be made on its official website at www.world25.org.

AOL’s Black Voices is reporting that Janet will star in Tyler Perry next film, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.

The website says that last night at the New York City premiere of Why Did I Get Married Too?, Perry revealed the film’s cast, which, in addition to Janet, will include Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray.

The film is based on Ntozake Shange’s award-winning 1975 play consisting of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women. The poems deal with love, abandonment, rape, and abortion. It is scheduled to shoot in June in New York with a possible winter 2010/2011 release date.

Janet’s interview on The Tyler Perry Show (taped in Atlanta on February 1) is aired on TBS.

March 25 : JD posts a behind the scenes video clip from the set of the music video for “Nothing” on his You Tube, Twitter and blog pages.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Janet says that although she had been in the studio recently to record new music, she is not recording an album at the moment.

She also reveals that she has not signed a deal with any record labels and is actually contemplating releasing music independently.

The soundtrack for Why Did I Get Married Too? will hit stores in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, April 27 and can now be pre-ordered on Amazon.com.

Why Did I Get Married Too? has debuted at the second spot on the box office charts, grossing an estimated $30.2 million in its opening weekend.

The film becomes the second highest opener for Tyler Perry after last year’s Madea Goes to Jail, which scored $41 million. The original Why Did I Get Married? opened at number one with $21.4 million in 2007.

Janet was photographed by Rocco Laspata of Laspata DeCaro, at the Milk Studios in New York. The campaign, which begins in September, will span print, online and outdoor outlets. The ads will appear in Vanity Fair, W, Vogue, T Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as WWD and Style.com, in addition to the international editions of Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. Blackglama will also mount a Times Square billboard at Broadway and 45th Street in September.

September 1 : Lionsgate announces that the theatrical release date in the U.S. and Canada for Tyler Perry’s new film For Colored Girlshas been moved up to November 5.

The film had originally been scheduled  for release on January 14, 2011.

Variety is reporting that the move better positions the film for year-end awards consideration and is meant to bolster the company’s remaining 2010 slate.

AOL’s The Boombox this afternoon posted a Q&A with Janet Jackson comprised of questions submitted by fans via Twitter and Facebook.

In the Q&A, Janet reveals for the first time that she is currently working on a “box set” with Universal Music, but does not give any indication concerning what it will contain.

Project Angel Food, a charity that provides daily meals for people homebound or disabled by HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses, is auctioning off a custom-made Janet Jackson Barbie doll.

The unique doll was made by Mattel to resemble Janet as she performed during the 2010 American Idol finale. Proceeds from the auction, which ends on December 15, will benefit Project Angel Food
