
February 10, 2020 : Janet on her social medias : “Hey U Guys! I’ve heard all your wishes and now from my lips to your ears. I’m working on my new album and going on a brand new World Tour this summer! Both titled “Black Diamond”. I love u guys so much and I’m so excited to share this new era with you. See u soon!”.
September 14, 2021 : US medias like Rolling Stone or People report that “Janet Jackson’s new album will be released in 2022…For the album, she has worked with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Darrel Randle, Ralph Johnson, Siedah Garrett and Marcel East.”Those reports are removed a few hours later without any explanation from Janet’s team.
January 29, 2022 : Parts 3 and 4 of Janet’s documentary air on Lifetime and A&E. In Part 4, Janet reveals that she has forgiven Justin Timberlake and that they are friends. During the ending credits, a short snipped of a new song titled “Luv I Luv” is played. The song is not released on digital platforms.
October 15, 2022 : UK’s tabloid The Sun : “Janet Jackson is set to return with a huge world tour and her first London performance in more than a decade. She will perform a re-worked show after cancelling her Black Diamond tour in 2020 and will tease some new material. It will focus on the reissue of her 1997 album The Velvet Rope as well as some brand new material. It’s a massive deal”.
December 12, 2022 : During a live video chat on Instagram from her London home, Janet announces a new tour titled “Together Again” with dates in Nort America in April-June 2023 and she promises “new music”. The annoncement comes with two brand new pictures.
April 26, 2023 : Janet & the Kids perform the 7th concert of the Together Again Tour at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. During the concert, Janet performs a snippet of an unheard/new song and she brings Jermaine Dupri on stage during the song “Do It To Me”.
