“Blue Powder” was written and performed by Michael’s driver, Gary Hearne. Brad Buxer, one of Jackson’s producers helped with some of the production, but Jackson himself had none in involving the song’s creation.
The 2009 song under the title “Cry” is actually “I Want You To Stay” by Marsha Ambrosius (from Floetry). The song was written for Jackson and submitted to him a few weeks before his passing, but it was never recorded by him.^[13]
“Do the Bartman” was never recorded by Jackson, but solely by Bryan Loren who just name-dropped him in the lyrics.
“Fly Girl” isn’t a collaboration between will.i.am and MJ. will.i.am only played the track to Jackson during the Access Hollywood interview in 2006, but Michael had no involvement with the creation of the track.
Despite fans believing this is a unreleased song, “Kreeton Overture” isn’t, as it was featured as the intro to the Victory Tour and is also known as “Sword In the Stone“.
The tracks “Angels Descend”, “Ashes to Ashes” or “Ceiling Dance” aren’t unreleased songs from Blood on the Dance Floor or even tracks Michael produced, they’re all pieces of music written by Nicholas Pike for and included in the Michael Jackson’s Ghosts short film.

Joe Jackson — the music manager and father of 11, has been hospitalized with terminal cancer, TMZ reports.

The 89-year-old Jackson family patriarch has been battling the illness “for some time,” the outlet says, but is “at the end stages” and “the cancer cannot be treated.”

Family, including wife Katherine, has been at his bedside, sources tell TMZ. Jackson’s children and grandchildren have also made visits.

On Wednesday, son Jermaine told the Daily Mail, “He’s very, very frail, he doesn’t have long. The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days.”

Janet is presented with the inaugural impact award during the Radio Disney Music Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate have won a case to remove themselves from liability in a lawsuit claiming that three tracks on Michael Jackson’s 2010 posthumous album, Michael, were recorded by an impersonator. The accusation was brought about by a fan, Vera Serova, who named Sony Music, the Michael Jackson Estate, MJJ Productions and the album’s production company, Angelikson Productions LLC, in a class action lawsuit.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson’s estate and IMAX are partnering to digitally remaster “Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D” into IMAX 3D. It will be released in IMAX theaters across the U.S. for one week, beginning Sept. 21. The remastered release precedes the launch of Amblin Entertainment’s fantasy film, “The House with a Clock in Its Walls,” starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett.

The Jackson family matriarch says she tried to fire her nephew and order him to move out of her guest house, but he has refused. Katherine is currently in London visiting her daughter, Janet Jackson, but is “afraid to go home with Trent there” and “fears he could physically harm her for terminating him.”

A judge granted Jackson’s request for a restraining order and ordered her nephew to move out of her home and return all keys, passwords and combinations to the property.

A hearing has been scheduled for March 1st.

Paris Jackson, the only daughter of music icon Michael Jackson, has separated from her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy. Jackson, 18, recently chose to end the relationship after less than a year, a source confirms to PEOPLE. February 23 : Katherine Jackson has filed legal paperwork to join a lawsuit against the executors of the King of Pop’s estate over a stake of ownership in the Michael Jackson Company.In the initial lawsuit, which has occupied the courts since 2013, former Jackson associates Broderick Morris, Qadree El-Amin, Adean King, and Raymone Bain claim that the singer promised them a combined 15-percent stake in his company. While Katherine Jackson has a 10-percent ownership and the role of officer in the Michael Jackson Company following her son’s 2009 death, in a motion filed to the California Superior Court in early-February, she asserts that important estate matters have been made without her input.

The defendants, John Branca and John McClain, are the executors of Jackson’s estate. Lawyers for Branca did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An April 19th hearing has been set in Los Angeles to determine whether Katherine Jackson can become involved with the lawsuit.

Katherine Jackson‘s nephew Trent Jackson has filed new court documents that dispute her recent allegations that he “manipulates” and “bullies” the Jackson family matriarch, and her claims of elder abuse.

Trent claims in a court filing submitted on Monday, and obtained by PEOPLE, that he has “a serious concern” that the 86-year-old’s request is not “authentic or trustworthy,” and that even if she signed it herself, he does not believe it was drafted “under her own free will.” He further alleges that Katherine “may be the subject of undue influence perpetrated by some of her own children, who are keeping her secluded in London while they seek to separate her from people she is close with, like [Trent], who might resist their efforts to take control over her interest in Michael Jackson’s estate.” He later names Jermaine Jackson as one of the people involved in trying to keep him away from her.

Katherine Jackson’s lawyers and a rep have not responded to multiple requests from PEOPLE for comment.

Katherine files a request to dismiss the case against Trent without prejudice, however, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Rolf Michael Treu grants the dismissal with prejudice, preventing her from filing the restraining order again with the same evidence and allegations in the future. The judge does note that future conduct can be litigated. Katherine’s new lawyers, Nelson J. Handy and Vatche Zetjian, explained that Katherine didn’t understand the extent of the action brought about by the case when she initially filed the temporary restraining order request in February, and said that she was not prepared for a trial, or having to testify in court.

Katherine Jackson has started the process to legally resign as Blanket‘s guardian. Back in Sept. 2012, Katherine and TJ Jackson were appointed co-guardians of the late Michael Jackson‘s three children. Prince Jackson and Paris Jackson are now over 18, while Blanket (real name Prince Michael Jackson II) is still only 15. In court documents filed by Katherine’s attorneys and obtained by E! News, it’s stated that Katherine is “no longer needed to fulfill the duties” that were needed back in 2012. The documents also say that given Katherine’s age, 87, and that Blanket is now 15, she “feels that TJ is able to assume all necessary responsibilities of the guardianship” for him. Michael Jackson’s estate has filed a trademark application for the phrase “Neverland Ranch” for a number of entertainment services, including a museum. Executives at Triumph International, the company which handles intellectual property for the Michael Jackson estate, filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on 30 October (17) for “Neverland Ranch” – the name of the late King of Pop’s sprawling estate in California. August 14 : Anthony “James” Jackson II, has filed bombshell new court documents insisting that the singer’s will is invalid and executors have iced him out. Anthony’s dad, Tony Jackson, was Michael’s first cousin. “When I was seven years old my father Tony passed away,” Anthony writes in the court documents f “Soon after this, the Decedent Michael Jackson stepped in and offered to raise me as his son, as a co parent with my mother Debra Jackson.” Even after Michael’s own children — Prince, Paris, and Blanket — were born, Anthony says he “continued to raise me as his son.” According to Anthony, those intentions were “that I receive a living expense allowance, that all of my education would be paid for, that I would be able to purchase a home … and a vehicle, that I would receive enough funds to start my own business.” Anthony alleges that Michael “also said I was the only one he would allow to use the SONY/ATV music publishing catalogs for any of my projects, for free.” “I should have been receiving Decedent’s Michael Jackson’s intended inheritance for me. I request that I immediately receive [it],” he writes in the court documents, “and for them to be retroactive” from the singer’s death date, June 25, 2009. In the 128-page filing, Anthony lays out a complicated argument for why he has been denied what he says is rightfully his. Simply put, he claims that the will is invalid, and there is a major “conspiracy” in place. “I question if this will is authentic, especially since the Decedent Michael Jackson told me and my mother Debra Jackson in 2003, the will he was forced to sign in 2002, in my presence, no longer existed,” he alleges. “…I believe the will and the trust documents were never notarized and they have never been authenticated.” In addition, Anthony insists, “The executors violated my rights and proper legal procedure because I never received the notice of probate … I believe not noticing me was a tactic by the executors to gain control of the estate, because I believe they knew I would question the authenticity of the will and object to their being the executors…” “I believe the executors knowingly violated the trust laws,” the court documents claim, further alleging that they “… exploited the estate assets for personal profit, trustee compensation.” It’s not the first time that Anthony has faced off against the Jackson family in court. In December 2013, he petitioned for guardianship of Paris, Prince, and Blanket, but was denied.

October 01 : Sony Finalizes Acquisition of Michael Jackson Estate’s Stake in Sony/ATV Publishing

The completion of the previously announced deal “marks the start of an exciting new chapter in our proud history,” says Sony/ATV CEO Martin Bandier. The Sony Corp. has completed its acquisition of the Michael Jackson’s estate share of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, giving it sole ownership of the music publishing powerhouse. The deal was first announced in March, but it took a while to close because the transaction had to be scrutinized by the EU Commission and because the Jackson estate needed to do some house cleaning in preparation for cashing out, sources say. While the press release announcing the closing said that Sony paid $750 million for the Jackson’s estate 50% share in the company, Billboard estimates that the company’s valuation was anywhere from $2.2 billion to $2.4 billion when debt and an earlier agreed upon discount– for some other consideration previously given by Sony to the Jackson estate–are taken into account. “The payment also reflects certain contractual and accounting adjustments related to the Sony/ATV joint venture and other commercial opportunities involving Sony and the Estate,” the announcement said.

The case is to determine if Tohme Tohme was really Michael Jackson’s manager in mid-2008 and therefor claiming compensation for his work towards “This Is It” and also regarding securing a loan to prevent forclosure on Neverland Ranch. Blame it on the boogie? Reelz’s previously announced reality show Living with the Jacksons has been scrapped.

The cable channel originally planned to air the reality show, which featured Jackson members who left the family estate to live on their own, last November. The network even held a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour in July 2014 featuring family members Genevieve Jackson, Randy Jackson Jr., Alejandra Jackson, Jaafar Jackson and Jermajesty Jackson. But in October, Reelz announced that the show’s premiere date was moving to “early 2015 with a specific date TBA.” Early 2015 came and went, and according to an insider, the production on the show was not completed or delivered in a timely fashion and is no longer active.

The people who run Michael Jackson‘s Estate are considering opening up the family home in Encino, CA to tourists … the home where MJ recorded his biggest hits, including “Billie Jean.” Sources familiar with the situation tell us, the Estate is noodling the idea of Hollywood tour buses and individuals making the trek to the property and then taking a room-by-room tour. Our sources say nothing’s in cement … the Estate is currently exploring the idea and also checking to see if the zoning laws would allow it, and if not whether they could get a variance.

Believe it Or Not: A Michael Jackson Court Case Is Going on Right Now in Los Angeles. It’s hard to believe, but six and a half years after his tragic death, yet another court case involving Michael Jackson is going on right now in Los Angeles. The case is billed as Qadree El-Amin vs. Michael Jackson Estate (John Branca, John McClain). Although she’s not named as a plaintiff, the person lurking behind this effort to extrude money from the Estate is Michael’s former p.r. lady and “manager,” Miss Raymone Bain. Raymone Bain — one of four people claiming part ownership in a company created by Jackson — took the witness stand on the second day of a non-jury trial resulting from a petition filed by the Jackson estate, which is seeking to have the estate declared the sole owners of the Michael Jackson Co. LLC. Bain, Qadree El-Amin, Broderick Morris and Adean King say they collectively own about 15 percent of the company under a 3 a.m. deal to which Jackson agreed in a Tokyo hotel room on June 1, 2006. King was the only one of the four not present when the alleged accord was reached.

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say the executors of Michael Jackson’s will are causing harm by damaging “fundamental family relationships” and isolating matriarch Katherine Jackson “from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will.” The Jackson siblings released a statement late Friday through an attorney amid a fight over their brother’s will with the executors of his estate. On Thursday a judge named TJ Jackson, a cousin to Michael Jackson’s three children, as co-guardian with Katherine Jackson, who was named their sole caretaker in the disputed will. Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson accuse the executors of a “relentless” negative media campaign and say they have been barred from visiting their 82-year-old mother or Jackson’s children. “The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will,” reads the statement by Janet Jackson’s attorney, Blair G. Brown, released on behalf of Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson. They say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson’s will because “the executors have never explained how Michael could have signed his will in California on a date that irrefutable evidence establishes that he was in New York.”

Representatives for the executors of the will did not immediately respond to calls and emails requesting comment. However, representatives for executors John Branca and John McClain released a statement some weeks ago saying, “Any doubts about the validity of Michael’s will and his selection of Executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court.” Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson’s will, adding, “they stand nothing to gain financially by a finding that the will is invalid.” “The individuals who have the most to lose by a finding that the will is invalid are, of course, the executors and those on the executors’ payroll.” The siblings say they will “press forward in their search for the truth in order to carry out the wishes of their brother Michael.”

Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has been re-instated as guardian of his three children by a court in Los Angeles. She will share custody with their cousin TJ, who was made temporary guardian last week after the 82-year-old was reported missing. A hearing on 22 August will decide if the arrangement will be made permanent. Tito Jackson Jr, the 34-year-old son of Michael’s brother Tito, stepped in as guardian for Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14 and 10 year-old Blanket. However, his lawyer Charles Shultz said he “in no way was trying to displace his grandmother” as “they respect each other”. Under the new agreement, TJ Jackson remains as co-guardian, with control over the staff and day-to-day operations of the family home. The judge rules as a condition to bail, Murray cannot be in possession of (or prescribe) anesthetics and specifically mentioned Propofol. The next court date is determined to be April 5th.

TMZ reports that the investigators believe that Dr. Murray may have tried to cover up the fatal dose of propofol. They state that the amount that Dr. Murray told the cops that he gave to Michael Jackson versus the amount of propofol in Michael’s system does not match up. They also report that there was an empty bottle of propofol with a tear in the stopper in a hidden compartment in a closet.

We’re told Jackson left enough material for at least three albums of fresh material. AOL’s Black Voices is reporting that Janet will star in Tyler Perry next film, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.

The website says that last night at the New York City premiere of Why Did I Get Married Too?, Perry revealed the film’s cast, which, in addition to Janet, will include Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray.

The film is based on Ntozake Shange’s award-winning 1975 play consisting of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women. The poems deal with love, abandonment, rape, and abortion. It is scheduled to shoot in June in New York with a possible winter 2010/2011 release date.

March 25 : JD posts a behind the scenes video clip from the set of the music video for “Nothing” on his You Tube, Twitter and blog pages.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Janet says that although she had been in the studio recently to record new music, she is not recording an album at the moment.

She also reveals that she has not signed a deal with any record labels and is actually contemplating releasing music independently.

March 27 : Joe Jackson files for wrongful death lawsuit. In the documents that he has filed it is stated that a weak pulse was able to be triggered by the emergency efforts but it could not be sustained. In the lawsuit Joe argues that Michael Jackson could have been saved if Murray called the paramedics sooner and told them about the propofol.

March 29 : TMZ reports that Michael Jackson’s bodyguard Alberto Alvarez is fired by the Jackson family. Although it has been rumored that his past was the reason for the firing, there hasn’t been an official statement.

Why Did I Get Married Too? has debuted at the second spot on the box office charts, grossing an estimated $30.2 million in its opening weekend.

The film becomes the second highest opener for Tyler Perry after last year’s Madea Goes to Jail, which scored $41 million. The original Why Did I Get Married? opened at number one with $21.4 million in 2007.

April 6 : Ed Chernoff (Defense lawyer for Murray) gives a brief interview to Good Morning America saying that Murray is innocent and all the claims that he delayed to call the paramedics and hid propofol bottles are lies. Futhermore Chernoff claims that police rushed to blame Murray due to pressure from public. His statements also include that Dr. Murray did not know what Michael Jackson doing in his own time and although they do not plan to convey Michael Jackson in a bad light, the facts will have to come out.

TMZ reports that Murray will not plead to involuntary manslaughter or any other charge (in other words he will not take a plea bargain) as he’s adamant that he’s innocent. However TMZ states that Murray is afraid that the medical boards can pull his licence.

TMZ reports that Dr. Murray found Michael Jackson eyes open and pupils dilated. They state this could be a possible defense strategy/evidence that Michael woke up and injected himself (and therefore his eyes were open when he died).

In a news conference Attorney General Jerry Brown announced that California Medical Board will go ahead with their own investigation and proceedings to take Murray’s licence.

Arnold Klein (long time Michael Jackson dermatologist) on twitter refutes a possible defense strategy by saying “As Michael Jackson’s physician for 25 years i can assure the world he could never self-inject. He was needle phobic.”

April 20 : TMZ has learned the executors for Michael’s estate have signed a huge deal with Cirque du Soleil. Co-executor John Branca tells TMZ, the first show will open in fall of 2011 — and will travel throughout North America including the Staples Center in L.A. … the same venue where MJ’s memorial was held. The show will be heavily focused on dancing — honoring the legendary moves of MJ. May 02 : Exclusive: Michael Jackson Recorded A New Album in 2007

Michael Jackson recorded a whole new album of material in the fall of 2007. The information about the album was only recently revealed by sources close to the late pop star. Readers of my old column will recall that I reported on November 19, 2007 that Jackson spent three months with the Cascio family in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey after decamping from a Northern Virginia home he’d been renting courtesy of then manager Raymone Bain. Jackson, his kids, nanny and tutor landed on the Cascio doorstep at the end of the summer of 2007 and stayed until November 7th. During that time Michael was not idle, as some thought. He recorded at least a dozen tracks with Eddie Cascio, who is also known as Angel.

June 14 : Attorney General Brown ask Judge Pastor to revoke Dr. Murray’s medical licence. Murray’s defense team brings up the plane incident where Dr. Murray helped a patient, adding that there’s no need to suspend his licence. Judge Pastor doesn’t suspend Dr. Murray’s medical license refuses to overturn the decision made by the last judge to hear the case Judge Pastor says “I don’t have ability to revisit the actions of one of my colleagues. I do not have jurisdiction to revisit this matter. It doesn’t have anything to do with how I feel or what I think. It has to do with the law and this court’s ability to follow the law”.

June 21 : “Live at the Forum” , a live album by the Jackson 5 is released by Motown The live tracks contains in the album were mostly recorded on June 20, 1970 and August 26, 1972, during concerts at The Forum, in Inglewood, California.

The 1970 concert was a record-breaking show of nearly 19,000 attending, with the group only having released two studio albums and a couple of singles out up to that point. This concert is an example of the group’s very early part of their career, on their first tour.

By the second show in 1972, the Jackson 5 were established icons and had seven albums on the Motown label, not including Michael or Jermaine’s solo albums, which play a considerable part in the 1972 setlist. Michael’s voice shows early signs of changing (as this concert was three days before his 14th birthday); he’s still singing in a high-pitched voice but throughout most of this set he’s straining to do so, at times screeching to hit the notes he could easily sing the years prior. Some songs were transposed to a lower key and Michael sang alternate phrasings to prevent his voice from cracking.

August 23 : A short hearing happens. The prosecutor is arguing there have been issues with witness availability. The judge sets preliminary hearing date for January 4, 2011. Also Murray is due back in court on Oct. 26 for another status hearing.

Murray’s defense team reportedly asked for access to three fluids collected by the coroner’s office, including ones taken from syringes and an IV tube to re-examine test results. Pastor ruled that the coroner’s office must preserve the samples, and if defense attorneys and prosecutors cannot agree on the request, he will schedule a hearing on the matter.

September 1 :Lionsgate announces that the theatrical release date in the U.S. and Canada for Tyler Perry’s new film For Colored Girlshas been moved up to November 5.

The film had originally been scheduled for release on January 14, 2011.

Variety is reporting that the move better positions the film for year-end awards consideration and is meant to bolster the company’s remaining 2010 slate.

More than a month and a half after announcing Janet Jackson as the newest Legend to grace the “What Becomes a Legend Most?” campaign, the media coverage and awareness continues to build.

On Wednesday, September 1, the “What Becomes a Legend Most?” billboard containing Janet Jackson was unveiled in Manhattan’s Times Square. Katherine, Prince, Paris & Blanket are suing AEG Live — claiming the company breached its agreement to provide physical care for Michael — and that AEG was negligent in their hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray as MJ’s physician.

In the suit, Katherine claims AEG’s contract with Michael “created a legal duty for AEG to act reasonably toward the physical well-being of Michael Jackson.” In the document, Katherine also blames AEG for hiring Dr. Murray without a proper background check — claiming, “AEG did not provide a doctor who was truly looking out for Jackson’s well-being and did not provide equipment.”

The suit also alleges AEG caused emotional distress to Michael’s son Prince because he witnessed Michael suffering and dying, and “he was put in a position as bystander to these tragic events.”

Kenny Ortega, who produced the planned London concerts for Michael, is also named as a defendant.

The attorney who filed the suit, Brian J. Panish, released a statement saying, “The purpose of this lawsuit is to prove to the world the truth about what happened to Michael Jackson, once and for all.”

October 13 : NEW YORK – Michael Jackson’s complete library of videos is being restored and rereleased, as well as a never-released clip for his song “One More Chance.”

The “Michael Jackson’s Vision” boxed set is due out on Nov. 22 and includes 4 1/2 hours worth of material, including the full version of “Black or White,” which was cut short after its initial release due to violent imagery and Jackson’s gyrations.

Jackson made a short film for the song “One More Chance,” but it was never released. He was charged with sexual molestation in 2003, right around the time the single was released. He was acquitted in that case.

October 14 : Michael Prince delivers the track “Hollywood Tonight” to Teddy Riley to remix it. When Prince first hears the songs “Breaking News” , “Monster”, “Keep Your Head Up”, he has concerns over Michael’s voice…

October 15 : The tracklisting for the “Michael” album is selected during a meeting at Sony’s NYC headquarters. John McClain doesn’t want the Cascio tracks to be included beacause they are fake.

Michael’s name once again is on display at Gardner Street Elementary School after the boards covering his name were removed. The sign is unveiled, where a member of the Los Angeles Board of Education said, “It’s important for the district to value the artistic impact and humanitarian contribution that will be the lasting legacy of Michael Jackson.”

October 16 : In Los Angeles, Taryll Jackson starts working on the song “Hollywood Tonight” with Teddy Riley. During a meeting at the MJ Estate’s office, Taryll tells John Branca & Howard Weitzman that he Cascio songs are fake and asks for a listening session with Michael’s close music collaborators.

October 17 : In Los Angeles, a listening session of the Cascio tracks takes place at Encore’s Recording studio with 12 close collaborators of Michael including Teddy Riley, Jean-Marie Horvat, Matt Forger, Michael Prince, Dr Freeze, Harrison Funk, Taryll and Cory Rooney.

Janet & Wissam leave Paris and fly back to NYC.

October 19 : Eddie Cascio and James Porte fly from New Jersey to LA to attend a meeting at the MJ Estate’s office with their attorney, Taryll Jackson, Michael Prince, John Branca and Howard Weitzmann. Cascio and Porte claim they have no other hard drives because MJ asked them to destroy “all of the outtakes”.

October 20 : The catalog of the auction of never-before-seen Michael Jackson by Arno Bani shot in 1999 in Paris is released in French bookstores for €45 ($63) and, in a rare auction-house nod to the masses, a €19.90 ($28) edition is sold in supermarkets. Co-editors around the world signed up for translated versions without seeing any of the Bani pictures.

November 8 : The song “Breaking News” is premiered on michaeljackson.com, members of the Jackson family took to Twitter to raise their voice against the track.

Sony Music issues a statement over “Breaking News” controversy : “We have complete confidence in the results of our extensive research as well as the accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael that the vocals on the new album are his own.”

Teddy Riley on Twitter :“ The truth of this of it all [is that] no one knows [but] MJ and God knows. I have nothing more to say and I can’t prove anything. I did not original produce his vocals nor these songs. I’ve answered all that I can answer for MJ fans. The Cascios have a [Twitter] page. They have your answers.”

November 11 : Michael Jackson Estate issues a report: “Six of Michael’s former producers and engineers who had worked with Michael over the past 30 years – Bruce Swedien, Matt Forger, Stewart Brawley, Michael Prince, Dr. Freeze and Teddy Riley – were all invited to a listening session to hear the raw vocals of the Cascio tracks in question. All of these persons listened to the a cappella versions of the vocals on the Cascio tracks being considered for inclusion on the album, so they could give an opinion as to whether or not the lead vocals were sung by Michael. They all confirmed that the vocal was definitely Michael.”

Cory Rooney on Twitter : “I have read the statement from the MJ estate and I have to say that it’s just more bullshit! I was in that room, and the majority of the people mentioned did NOT agree that it was MJ! Some felt it sounded like him but all agree that there was nothing there that was consistent with any MJ habits like finger snaps, headphone bleeding, foot stomping or just simple things like his voice asking for another take. Both Dr. Freeze and Teddy Riley sat with Taryll Jackson and myself and stated that they felt what we felt.”

The song becomes an international top 10 hit in nations such as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

November 18 : Randy Jackson on Twitter : “Obviously there has been a lot of questions concerning the vocals on the new album that I want to address. Me and my nephew were the first to say that it wasn’t his voice on some of the tracks. The family and the executers of the Estate, Branca and Mclain are not on the same page. John McClain insisted that no family members were allowed at his studio where the project was being completed. Teddy Riley was brought in just to mix and insisted on switching studios. At which he called me to come down and hear my brothers music, may he rest in peace. I heard the music and I immediately said it wasn’t his voice. Now McClain points the finger at Sony, when he got the tracks before it even went to Sony. I invited McClain to the burial, Ironically, he didn’t show up. Neither of the executors didn’t show up to pay their respects. Maybe they were too busy getting deals done. Some of the songs are him, and some aren’t. I would be my life on that. I will miss his laughter. I will miss his silly jokes. I even miss our arguments.

December 1 : Janet has partnered with the Trevor Project to film a PSA sending a message to LGBT youth who have been bullied that “It Gets Better.”

Janet speaks via telephone with CNN Headline News anchor Richelle Carey to discuss World AIDS Day, which is recognzied worldwide every December 1:

Project Angel Food, a charity that provides daily meals for people homebound or disabled by HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses, is auctioning off a custom-made Janet Jackson Barbie doll.

The unique doll was made by Mattel to resemble Janet as she performed during the 2010 American Idol finale. Proceeds from the auction, which ends on December 15, will benefit Project Angel Food

December 6 : The entire Cascio Family, which has been called “Michael’s second family,” appears on the Oprah Winfrey’s talk show, to speak of their long-lasting relationship with Michael.

Teddy Riley also appears to refute the controversy over the fake songs. Riley claims that Michael would be loving the controversy regarding the album, while attempting to convince Oprah, and the world, that vocals on the Cascio tracks are authentic.

“This is Michael’s voice,” he said nervously.

The only problem with Riley’s statement, that ‘no one can do a strong scream like Michael Jackson’, was that the screams heard on the Cascio tracks, i.e. “aow!” and “hoo!” were actually stolen from previously released Jackson recordings – something that Jackson’s nephew TJ has addressed in an earlier statement:

“Deceptively merging shady vocals with MJ samples (from prior MJ records) will never fool me.”

“I’ve always admired the talent of Teddy Riley,” stated Taryll Jackson after the Oprah interview aired on television. “But after hearing him lie on Oprah I am terribly disappointed.”. I remember when Teddy and I were at Encore listening to ‘Keep Your Head Up’,” . We both knew it wasn’t my Uncle. [Teddy] stopped working on it because (and I quote) ‘it didn’t sound enough like Michael. Michael doesn’t swing like that.’ He also said he was only working on the Cascio records in hopes that he would eventually be given a ‘real Michael Jackson song.’ As he knows, I never agreed with that logic.”

December 10 : “Michael” a compilation album and first posthumous album of previously unreleased tracks by American singer Michael Jackson is released by Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment. It was produced by Teddy Riley, Theron “Neff-U” Feemster, C. “Tricky” Stewart, and Eddie Cascio, among others, and features guest performances by Akon, 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz.

“Michael” debuts at number three on the Billboard 200 and reached number one in six countries.
