3. Main plots
Hope’s pregnancy, miscarriage and departure
Hope remains married to Wyatt despite learning more about Quinn’s interference in Paris. Her pregnancy makes Quinn increasingly determined to remain involved in their lives, although Hope wants her kept away.
After another confrontation with Quinn, Hope falls down the stairs at Brooke’s house and loses the baby. Grieving and unable to continue her marriage, she leaves Los Angeles for Italy. The departure ends Kim Matula’s regular run as Hope. The Bold and the Beautiful
Caroline and Ridge’s creative partnership destroys her marriage to Rick
Ridge’s difficulty drawing brings him into a close working partnership with Caroline. Their collaboration develops into an attraction, and Maya exposes their kisses.
Rick turns to Maya and becomes increasingly vindictive toward Caroline, Ridge and the staff at Forrester Creations. His conduct includes intimidation, humiliating Aly and firing warning shots at Ridge and Caroline. The Bold and the Beautiful
Rick’s reign at Forrester—and the campaign to remove him
Rick secures the CEO position and behaves as though his authority is unassailable. His relationship with Maya becomes both personal and public: they occupy the Forrester mansion, and Maya’s portrait replaces Stephanie’s.
Liam, Ridge and Steffy work toward a change in control. The resulting corporate struggle eventually removes Rick from the CEO position and restores power to his rivals. soapcentral.com
Maya’s transgender identity becomes the season’s defining revelation
Nicole’s arrival threatens Maya’s relationship with Rick because she knows that Maya is transgender. The audience learns this on March 18, 2015.

During a roadside confrontation, Aly attacks Steffy. Steffy strikes her while defending herself, and Aly falls, suffers a fatal head injury and dies. Ivy records part of the encounter and subsequently uses the footage against Steffy. Soap Opera Digest
