Season dates and scope
For this guide, the coverage period is September 1, 2011–August 31, 2012. This follows the September-to-September grouping used by some episode catalogues. However, I could not verify both dates in an accessible official CBS archive or on the soap’s official YouTube channel, so they should be treated as working boundaries rather than confirmed CBS season dates. The secondary catalogue listing these boundaries identifies 255 episodes. Originals for Paramount+
There is a genuine numbering discrepancy: TheTVDB starts Season 39 on August 29, 2011, whereas other catalogues start it on September 1. Sony’s July 2012 announcement does officially confirm that the programme was then in its 39th season, but does not establish its precise opening and closing dates. All dates below refer to the original US broadcasts. TheTVDB.com

Y&R / B&B Crossovers
| Direction | Character | Dates and significance |
|---|---|---|
| B&B → Y&R | Deacon Sharpe — portrayed by Sean Kanan | Continues his established Y&R run during late 2011 and January 2012, particularly through Nikki’s storyline. His original transfer to Y&R occurred in 2009. |
| Y&R → B&B — return of a B&B-origin character | Deacon Sharpe — portrayed by Sean Kanan | Returns to B&B on May 24, 2012, with that stint continuing through June 27, 2012. Bill Spencer uses him in a scheme involving Hope and Liam’s wedding in Italy. |
| Y&R-origin characters visiting B&B | — | I could not verify a new guest appearance by a Y&R-origin character within September 1, 2011–August 31, 2012. |
| Other B&B characters visiting Y&R | — | No additional new guest crossover was verified within these boundaries. |
Deacon is therefore the significant link during this period: a B&B-origin character completing a Y&R storyline and returning to B&B. Tim Reid also has a history on both programmes, but his B&B appearances were in 2001, so his 2012 Y&R return is not a new crossover. owiki.org
