October 5 : Janet starts to film the movie Nutty Professor II in Los Angeles with Eddie Murphy.

October 8 : Debbie officially files for divorce and sign a confidentiality agreement.

October 23 : Birth of Royal Jackson, first child of TJ with Frances Casey, first grandchild of Tito and first great grandchild of Joe & Katherine.

2000

February :  Janet completes the filming of “Nutty Professor 2” (NP2) and she goes to Flyte Time Studios to record “Doesn’t Really Matter” for the NP2 soundtrack.

May 16 : Janet celebrates her 34th birthday with friends in NYC.

May 21 : “Doesn’t Really Matter” is released as the 1st single from the Nutty Professor II Soundtrack. It peaks at #1 on Hot 100 Billboard.

May 22 : Janet & Eddie Murphy are guests on the Oprah Winfrey Show (in Chicago) to promote NP2.

May 31 : Rene Elizondo reveals during a press conference that he & Janet secretly got married on March 31, 1991 and that they are filing for divorce.

June 3 : Janet presents an award to Keanu Reeves at the MTV Movie Awards at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City.

June 4/5 : Janet shoots the video for “Doesn’t Really Matter” in L.A.
The video is directed by Joseph Khan and choreographed by Swawnette.

June 10 : Janet & Rene are on the cover of Jet Magazine.

June 15 : Janet gives an interview to Ed Gordon on BET.

Janet starts working on a new album with Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam.

June 28 : The video for “Doesn’t Really Matter” is premiered on MTV’s Making The Video.

July 7 : Janet goes to NYC to promote NP2.

September 7 : Janet opens the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony with a performance of “Doesn’t Really Matter” at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

October 07 : Alejandra gives birth to Jermajesty and takes him home to Hayvenhurst to live with Genevieve, Randy Jr, Donte, Jaafar, Jermaine, Katherine & Joe.

November : Janet is on the cover of Ebony magazine.

December 10 : Janet attends the premiere of “The Emperor’s New Groove” movie in Los Angeles.

Late december  : Rene Elizondo sues Janet for 10 millions dollars claiming that she manipulated him into signing a pre-nuptial agreement back in 1990. He also threatens her to write a tell all book about her…

2001

January 8 : Janet is presented with the Merit Award at the American Music Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angele.

Later she shows up at the Arista Records After Party at St. Regis Hotel in Century City with Jimmy Jam.

Late January : Janet is on the cover of Jer magazine.

Early February : Janet completes the recording of her new album in L.A.
She attends Lisa Marie Presley birthday party.

February 10-20 : Janet rehearses and shoot the video for her new single “All For You” directed by Dave Meyers and featuring a new group of dancers (The Kids) including Shawnette Heard, Gil Duldulao & Kelly Konno.

February 28 : The “All For You” single is released to radios around the world.

March 5 : Janet is on the cover of TV Guide magazine with an interview and new photos.

The video for” All For You” is premiered on MTV;

March 10 : Janet is the first artist to be honored with the MTV Icon Award during a TV Special on MTV.

Janet attends the show taping in L.A along with Terry Lewis, Jimmy Jam, Katherine & Joe, Missy Elliot, Britney Spears and many others at Sony Studios in Culver City, California.

Several artist pay tribute to Janet with speeches by Stevie Wonder, Aaliya and performaces by Macy Gray, The Destiny’s Child, Usher, Pink, Mya & Nsync.

At the end, Jermaine, Jackie, Marlin & Tito go on stage to congratulate Janet and Michael appears via a pre recorded video.

Janet & The Kids perform All For You for the first time.

March 12 : Janet is a guest on Late Show With David Letterman at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City.

March 13 : Janet is a guest on the Rosie O’Donnell Show in NYC

MTV Icon honoring Janet Jackson is aired on MTV.

“All For You” is released as the 1st single from “All For You”. It peaks at #1 on Hot 100 Billboard.

March 14 : Janet & the Kids arrive in Berlin, Germany.

March 15 : Janet performs “All For You” at the Echo Awards at the ICC in Berlin.

March 17 : Janet performs “All For You” on Wetten Dass at the Messehalle in Dornbirn, Austria.

January 9 : Janet gives a press conference in Tokyo, Japan and then she accepts an American Music Awards via satellite.

January 12+13 : Janet gives two concerts at the Osaka Dome in Osaka, Japan.

January 16 : Janet appears at an album signing at an HMV store in Tokyo . While at the signing, Janet is interviewed by the radio station J-Wave 81.3 FM and is presented with an award for having the best selling album of 2001 at HMV stores

January 17+18 : Janet gives two concerts at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.

January 25 : Janet gives a concert at the Freedom Hall in Louisville.

January 26 : Janet gives a concert at the Assembly Hall in Champaign.

January 29 : Janet gives a concert at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Canada.

February 21 : Birth of Michael’s new son Prince Michael II at the Grossmont Hospital in San Diego, California. Michael soon nicknames him Blanket!

February 27 : Janet, along with singer Gloria Estefan and actor Matthew McConaughey, presents the Album of the Year award to the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” soundtrack during the Grammy Awards Ceremony held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

March 8 : Jimmy Jam presents Janet with the Entertainer Of  The Year Award at the NABOB Awards in Washington DC.

March 24 : Janet attends the Vanity Fair Oscar Party at Morton’s in West Hollywood, California where she gets to see Diana Ross.

April 14 : Janet opens the MTV Icon ceremony with a speech in tribute of Aerosmith held at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California.

April 20 : Janet is presented with the “Wannabe Award” at the Nickoldeon Kids Choice Awards held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

April 27 : Janet attends an N’SYNC concert in Fl Lauderdale (Florida).

May :  Katherine, Jackie, LaToya, Tito, Janet, Rebbie & Randy stage an intervention at Neverland to help Michael on his prescription-drug dependency. Michael & LaToya are reunited 14 years after their last meeting during the 1988 Bad Tour. Michael introduces them to Blanket.

May 2 : Janet joins her friend Jermaine Dupri (JD)  in Atlanta at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA to pay respects to Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes who just died in a car accident.

Soon after, Janet & JD start dating.

May 19 : JD throws a birthday bash for Janet’ s 36th birthday. The party is held in the private room at the popular South Beach dance club Kiss Steakhouse with several celebrity friends including Jay-Z, Ashanti & Missy Elliot.

May 31 : Janet is presented  with the first ever Essence Awards Reader’s Choice Entertainer of the Year Award at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles .  Later in the evening she also presents producing team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with the Excellence in Music Award.

June 20 : Janet is presented with the Recording Academy’s Governors Award at the annual National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Luncheon at Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills. Katherine, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy, Rebbie, Yashi and Jimmy Jam attend the event.

June 23/24 : Janet shoots the video for “Feel It Boy” (a duet she recently recorded with Beenie Man), at a beach in southern California.

June 24 : Janet’s HBO concert in Hawai is released on DVD.

June 25 : Janet presents the Video Of The Year Award to Puff Daddy at the BET Awards at The Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California. Rebbie and Austin Brown attend the ceremony.

“Feel It Boy” is released as a single.

June 28 : Janet inducts Kathleen Battle into the Hollywood Bowl Hall Of Fame.

July 5 : Janet & JD attend Missy Elliot birthday party in Miami with Justin Timberlake among others.

July 18 : Janet presents JD with an award at the Atlanta Heroes Awards Presented by The Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA,

July 24 : World premiere of the “Feel It Boy” on BET.

September 19 : Janet has completed vocals for the song “(And She Said) Take Me Now” which will appear on Justin Timberlake first solo album “Justified” to be released on november 5.

Late september : Janet takes JD to the Carribean Island of Mustique for a two week vacation celebrating his 30th birthday.  They officially become an item.
