Rehearsals
Rehearsals for the Rhythm Nation Tour were held in Los Angeles in January 1990. While rehearsing in L.A , Janet got a surprise visit from comedian Arsenio Hall who was recording his TV Show in another studio and she agreed to do the Miss You Much chair routine for his audience!
Janet then rehearsed in Pensacola, Florida for two weeks before the tour kickoff. She surprised the people of Pensacola with a concert that was announced only one day ahead of time. The $10 tickets, limited to a four per person, didn’t go on sale until the morning of the concert. All 7,600 tickets were sold within three hours. Another 1,000 tickets were given to local charities.
