The Los Angeles Superior Court ruled against Wade Robson in case this morning in claims against corporations owned by Michael Jackson and/or the Estate of Michael Jackson and dismissed his case again. “As of today, a summary judgment AGAINST Wade Robson has been granted three different times by two different judges of the Superior Court.

May 7 : Michael Jackson’s son is joining the family business after executors of his famous father’s estate asked the court to allow them to hire him as a special consultant. According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the MJ estate is asking that Prince Jackson be brought in to work on “designated projects” working alongside the estate managing his father’s business.

The rumours have been going around since 2017 and after “Bohemian Rhapsody”, the Queen’s biopic, more rumours about a Michael Jackson Biopic surfaced. Few days ago, The Hits Daily Double interviewed David Lande, David Byrnes and John Branca from Ziffren Brittenham about being the best entertainment and corporate attorneys. During a very short interview of all 3, John Branca said: “As the co-producer of the Michael Jackson: ONE show in Las Vegas and the MJ biopic and Broadway play we have in development, the work has been ongoing. I’m looking forward to once again putting Michael’s music and the work done by the talented team of the producers, directors, choreographers, dancers, actors and other creators involved in these productions in front of his fans and the public. The Estate of Michael Jackson continues to develop projects that honor the life and music of, in the memorable words of Berry Gordy, “the greatest entertainer who ever lived.”

July 30 : Taj Jackson : “The past 2 years I have purposely not shared some things with you guys because I didn’t want my personal problems to interfere or question your confidence in me and this project.

First, I have never lied about this project being one of the most important projects in my life. Nor have I ever lied about my love and dedication to it and my uncle. However, there are some personal stuff behind the scenes that I have had to deal with and it has definitely affected both my mental and physical health. I am doing much better now but I want to finally share 2 examples.

Ok, where do I start…
Last year my wife and I came face to face with the horrors of a miscarriage. I didn’t reveal it back then because we had no idea how to handle this loss. The effects were absolutely devastating for us.
That day, we went to my wife’s OB/GYN(doctor) to finally find out the gender of our new baby. It was suppose to be an exciting day. Instead we found out that our little precious baby no longer had a heartbeat. Nothing prepared us for that shock. I hid this pain well from you guys and the public. I still did many interviews regarding my uncle and livestreams after that painful day. You would have never known what happened.

Which brings me to my next situation…
Well two months ago I went to my doctor for the first time in nearly a decade. I knew I hadn’t been taking good care of myself and the results clearly showed.
Not only was my blood pressure and blood sugar super high, I also had some other health complications. Not to mention I was already 60 pounds overweight. Luckily everything was still fixable and not permanent. But I had a pretty decent health scare for awhile. So if I wasn’t as active on social media as I had been in the past, or didn’t answer or respond to your messages or comments, now you know why. I really had to focus on getting better and healthier…For my family, for the project, and for me.

Why am I telling all this.
Because it felt weird and hypocritical to be working on a series that humanizes my uncle by showing all the external crap and struggles he had to deal with, while at the same time I am hiding my own personal struggles and crap from you guys. I am also telling you this because I want you to fully understand that through out all this drama, my commitment to this project has never faltered. I have been constantly working and pushing things forward since I first put this Go Fund Me page up. Even with my hardships these years, I have always made time to fight for and defend my uncle’s legacy. And I will never stop that fight until everyone learns and knows the truth.

Am I frustrated about the speed at which this series is moving, of course I am. But I could have never predicted that a world wide pandemic would slow down things everywhere and last this long. So unfortunately we have to be patient.

That being said…There is no doubt in my mind that this series will be finished and distributed globally . I’m ready to hit the ground running once it’s safe to do so. I want to thank everyone for their continued support. Whether monetary support or emotional support, I am so thankful for my uncle’s defenders and advocates. This series will be executed in a way that will forever vindicate my uncle Michael once and for all. It will cement his legacy as not only the greatest entertainer that ever lived, but one of the greatest and kindest human beings to ever walk this planet. My uncle, Michael Jackson, deserves that.

Yes this series is a huge undertaking, but as I said before, your support makes this possible. I truly thank you guys for believing in this project and me. We are going to make a difference for many generations to come.

December 06 : MJ the Musical is a jukebox musical based on the life of the American entertainer Michael Jackson. It features Jackson’s music, with a book by Lynn Nottage and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon. MJ was scheduled to premiere on Broadway in mid-2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City. In November 2019, Ephraim Sykes was cast as Jackson but in June 2021 it was announced that he had been replaced by Myles Frost. The production began previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on December 6, 2021, and officially opened on February 1, 2022. It opened in the London West End in 2024.

MJ received mixed reviews, but has been a success at the box office. It was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, with the musical winning four awards, including Best Actor in a Musical for Frost, as well as Best Choreography, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. The original cast recording was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. January 04 : Accusers can pursue lawsuits against Michael Jackson’s companies, court says.

A California appeals court ruled that Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who appeared in the movie “Leaving Neverland,” could pursue their claims because of a change in California law. A lower court had dismissed lawsuits brought by the two men in 2014 because California’s statute of limitations required that claims of childhood sexual abuse be filed before an accuser’s 26th birthday. However a new law, which came into effect on 1 January, extends the timeframe up to a person’s 40th birthday.

January 06 : The German TV channel SAT1 is airing the documentary Michael Jackson – Auf der Suche nach der Wahrheit (Michael Jackson: In Search of the Truth), featuring numerous previously unseen interviews with La Toya Jackson, Taj & Brandi Jackson, Tom Mesereau, Bill Whitfield, Dieter Wiesner, Aphrodite Jones, and most notably the Schleiter family — a German family speaking publicly for the first time on television about their relationship with Michael Jackson. January 10 : On the recommendation of counsel with respect to their obligation as fiduciaries, The MJ Estatate reluctantly enters into a Confidential Acquisition and Consulting Agreement with Frank Cascio and his family. December 15 : MJ Estate wins appeal against HBO

December 21 : Prince donates toys to 25 children from nine families at Mattel, an El Segundo, Los Angeles store for kids. He teamed up with his Heal LA Foundation and the LA Police Baseball Foundation to bring the youngsters to Mattel’s headquarters, where each child was gifted $150 to spend on a holiday shopping spree — just in time for the joyous day, he wrote on his Instagram.

December 24 : Michael Jackson’s onetime Neverland ranch has sold for $22 million to billionaire Ron Burkle, a onetime associate of the late pop star and co-founder of the investment firm Yucaipa Companies, according to public records and three people familiar with the deal.

The property, located about 40 miles from Santa Barbara, had been on and off the market for years, first listing for $100 million in 2015 and undergoing several price cuts. It was listed for $31 million last year, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Mr. Jackson’s estate co-owned the ranch with a fund managed by Colony Capital, a real-estate investment trust. Amid financial struggles, Mr. Jackson had defaulted on a loan backed by the ranch and Colony bought the note in 2008, putting the property’s title into a joint venture it formed with the pop star. Mr. Jackson originally paid about $19.5 million for the ranch in 1987.

January 10 : Statement from the Estate of Michael Jackson

Earlier today certain media ran an item relating to a film included in the lineup of the Sundance Film Festival. The Estate issued the following statement to media reporting the story:

“This is yet another lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson. Wade Robson and James Safechuck have both testified under oath that Michael never did anything inappropriate toward them. Safechuck and Robson, the latter a self-proclaimed ‘master of deception’, filed lawsuits against Michael’s Estate, asking for millions of dollars. Both lawsuits were dismissed. This so-called ‘documentary’ is just another rehash of dated and discredited allegations. It’s baffling why any credible filmmaker would involve himself with this project.”

Unfortunately, anyone can release a documentary and they do not have to secure permission to do so. The only time the Estate has any potential recourse is when a documentary or other film uses intellectual property such as music or video that is owned by the Estate and is not protected under “fair use” claims, which of course the Estate is monitoring. You may recall the Estate filed litigation against Disney earlier this year for violating its intellectual property rights. As the Estate said, the individuals featured in this documentary have had their claims rejected in court. Furthermore, Michael was declared innocent in the criminal case against him. No documentary can change that.

January 16 : After a one month break from social medias and public exposure Paris writes on Instagram : « I am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever ».

“MJ fam – here we are over 11 years since of my Uncle Michael’s passing. Instead of being able to mourn and properly celebrate and honor Michael Jackson, we are, again, being forced to educate the media and the general public with the evidence-based truth about him.
Once again, we have to defend Michael Jackson’s name and legacy from vicious and calculated lies. We can no longer sit back and wait for the ‘right thing’ to be reported or for someone else to step in and champion our cause. This is on us – fans, friends and family. I know that the unanimous acquittals and the FBI’s on and off 10-year investigation (resulting in my Uncle’s complete exoneration) should have been enough. The worst thing we can do is let this continued slander go unchallenged. Especially since my uncle is not here to defend himself.
I know that when we as a group are united, we are unstoppable.
So I am asking for your help.

This series will uncover the real Michael Jackson. The larger-than-life entertainer grew up in ways no other human could ever imagine. The viewer will have the opportunity to step inside Jackson’s world through the stories and recollections of the people that truly knew him best. Michael was human like the rest of us; flawed and imperfect. He was eccentric, uber talented, philanthropic, sensitive and traumatized. All of these things made Michael who he was. He was not weird, he was unique. He was a man who believed in the message of love, in a world that didn’t appreciate or understand him.

I am the oldest nephew of Michael Jackson. I had the privilege to have grown up extremely close to my uncle and was always a loyal friend and ally to him throughout his entire life. I also had a front seat to what the negative media and allegations put him through. I lived with him during the whole 2005 trial.

As a sexual abuse victim (from my uncle Chuck on my mom’s side of the family), I know what it means to be a survivor. I also know what kind of damage sexual misconduct leaves upon the victims. This unique position makes me even more determined and qualified to make the truth, the whole truth known about my uncle Michael’s false allegations.

My uncle’s last words to me were…
“After this, we’re doing films.”
Never did I think that a decade later necessity would require me to direct a film about his proven innocence.”

January 25 : The Michael Jackson estate has issued a statement on the film “Leaving Neverland,” which premiered at Sundance on Friday morning (Jan. 25). The documentary was screened at Park City, Utah’s Egyptian Theater. The Estate issued its statement about 12 hours after the film debuted, taking issue with what it calls “the kind of tabloid character assassination Michael Jackson endured in life, and now in death.”

Dan Reed’s film follows two accusers, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, as they describe intense and graphic acts they say Jackson committed against them, as well those they say the pop icon coached them to commit on him. Robson met Jackson through a dance competition at age 5, and alleges the sexual abuse began when he was 7. Safechuck was cast in a Pepsi commercial starring Jackson around age 8, and the alleged abuse began after months of close friendship.

Lawsuit filed by the Estate of Michael Jackson

This morning, The Estate of Michael Jackson filed a lawsuit against HBO. HBO is not just a distributor but a co-producer of this so-called documentary Leaving Neverland. As many of you know, in 1992 HBO entered into an agreement for the broadcast of “Live From Bucharest” which became HBO’s highest rated special. As part of that agreement, HBO agreed to non-disparagement provisions which remain in effect. This program is the epitome of disparagement. Therefore, HBO stands in breach of contract. Even though Michael is not here to defend himself and there is no claim for defamation, this is a contractual obligation.

March : The MJ Estate lawyers contact Frank Cascio and his family to ask them for support. Despite having a decades-long friendship with Michael Jackson, and after years of passionately defending Michael against false and scurrilous allegations made by third parties, Frank and his family decide to exploit the negative publicity following the release of Leaving Neverland in order to try to profit from making their own specious allegations against Michael. To do so,
Frank’ representative insist on meeting with MJ Estate representatives at the Sunset Marquis Hotel swimming pool wearing only bathing suits so that MJ Estate representatives could not wear a “wire” to record the conversation.

Following this bizarre meeting, Frank’s lawyer informs MJ Estate lawyers that the Cascios intend to repudiate their prior support of Michael and manufacture false and specious allegations against him unless they were paid money, as well as to counter the negative press surrounding the film, MJ Estate sought to make a life rights and consulting deal to acquire content that the Respondents and other parties to the Agreement had accumulated during their decades-long close friendship with Michael, including home movies showing Michael’s warm and happy interactions over the years with his “second family” during
Christmas, holidays, and other occasions. However, Respondents used the negative media frenzy as an opportunity to enrich themselves.

Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate have won a case to remove themselves from liability in a lawsuit claiming that three tracks on Michael Jackson’s 2010 posthumous album, Michael, were recorded by an impersonator. The accusation was brought about by a fan, Vera Serova, who named Sony Music, the Michael Jackson Estate, MJJ Productions and the album’s production company, Angelikson Productions LLC, in a class action lawsuit.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson’s estate and IMAX are partnering to digitally remaster “Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D” into IMAX 3D. It will be released in IMAX theaters across the U.S. for one week, beginning Sept. 21. The remastered release precedes the launch of Amblin Entertainment’s fantasy film, “The House with a Clock in Its Walls,” starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett.

It is titled Of Children, Castles & Kings. Inside the studio, a mural covers an entire wall, featuring sketches of Michael in the corner, holding a green book titled The Secret of Life and gazing out of a window at blooming flowers—each flower’s center is adorned with the face of a rosy-cheeked little girl. Paris’s personal decor is quite different. There’s a photo of Kurt Cobain in the bathroom, a Smashing Pumpkins poster on the wall, a laptop adorned with stickers of Against Me! and Never Ending Story, psychedelic wall decals, numerous fake candles, and vinyl records (Alice Cooper, The Rolling Stones) used as wall art. In the kitchen, sitting on a counter, is a framed platinum record signed by Quincy Jones for Michael Jackson (“I found it in the attic,” Paris says with a shrug).

Above an adjacent garage is a mini-museum Michael created as a surprise gift for his family, with walls and even ceilings covered in photos of their history. Michael used to rehearse his dance moves in this room. Now, Paris’s boyfriend has set up his drum kit there.”

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Jackson, 86, claims her nephew (through marriage) has accessed her bank accounts without her permission, used credit cards of hers for his own personal purchases without authorization, and subjected her to years of mental abuse that has left Jackson “in a constant state of fear and confusion.”

Jackson describes her nephew as “an abusive con-man” who has manipulated her in order to “assume control of her finances.”

The Jackson family matriarch says she tried to fire her nephew and order him to move out of her guest house, but he has refused. Katherine is currently in London visiting her daughter, Janet Jackson, but is “afraid to go home with Trent there” and “fears he could physically harm her for terminating him.”

A judge granted Jackson’s request for a restraining order and ordered her nephew to move out of her home and return all keys, passwords and combinations to the property.

A hearing has been scheduled for March 1st.

Paris Jackson, the only daughter of music icon Michael Jackson, has separated from her boyfriend, Michael Snoddy.

Jackson, 18, recently chose to end the relationship after less than a year, a source confirms to PEOPLE. But, as can be the case with young love, the source cautions that “circumstances could change” and the couple could reunite. The breakup was first reported by Us Weekly.

Trent Jackson says his aunt Katherine flew to London on January 22 to see her youngest daughter, Janet Jackson, and her newborn son and he has not been in contact with her since she left.
He also said he’s never been served with the restraining order and is still at the house.

February 23 :  Katherine Jackson has filed legal paperwork to join a lawsuit against the executors of the King of Pop’s estate over a stake of ownership in the Michael Jackson Company.In the initial lawsuit, which has occupied the courts since 2013, former Jackson associates Broderick Morris, Qadree El-Amin, Adean King, and Raymone Bain claim that the singer promised them a combined 15-percent stake in his company.

While Katherine Jackson has a 10-percent ownership and the role of officer in the Michael Jackson Company following her son’s 2009 death, in a motion filed to the California Superior Court in early-February, she asserts that important estate matters have been made without her input.

The defendants, John Branca and John McClain, are the executors of Jackson’s estate. Lawyers for Branca did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An April 19th hearing has been set in Los Angeles to determine whether Katherine Jackson can become involved with the lawsuit.

Katherine Jackson‘s nephew Trent Jackson has filed new court documents that dispute her recent allegations that he “manipulates” and “bullies” the Jackson family matriarch, and her claims of elder abuse.

Trent claims in a court filing submitted on Monday, and obtained by PEOPLE, that he has “a serious concern” that the 86-year-old’s request is not “authentic or trustworthy,” and that even if she signed it herself, he does not believe it was drafted “under her own free will.”

He further alleges that Katherine “may be the subject of undue influence perpetrated by some of her own children, who are keeping her secluded in London while they seek to separate her from people she is close with, like [Trent], who might resist their efforts to take control over her interest in Michael Jackson’s estate.”

He later names Jermaine Jackson as one of the people involved in trying to keep him away from her.

Katherine Jackson’s lawyers and a rep have not responded to multiple requests from PEOPLE for comment.

March 24 : In a new declaration — obtained by TMZ — Katherine says she’s in London because she’s scared to come home for fear Trent will now seek revenge on her. She says she’s now filled with stress and anxiety, and she’s now taking new meds to cope. Katherine also says she’s had meeting with social workers from Adult Protective Services and they will vouch for the authenticity of her claims.

March 28 : Katherine Jackson must leave her daughter Janet Jackson’s London home and take the witness stand in California if she wants her voice heard in her elder abuse battle with nephew Trent Jackson, a judge ruled Tuesday. It was the first day of testimony in her restraining order trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and Judge Rolf Treu said he wouldn’t accept a sworn statement from the King of Pop’s 86-year-old mom in place of her live appearance and cross-examination.

March 30 : Katherine flies from London to L.A with Rebbie. She is taken to Rebbie’s house in order to avoid Trent & TJ at her Calabasas home.

April 09 : Janet Jackson and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, are splitting, a source told ABC News. A source noted that the two are not divorcing, but separating. “Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways,” a source tells the British publication. “They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.”

April 16 : Austin & Genevieve spend Easter sunday with Rebbie & Katherine.

April 25 : Katherine files a request to dismiss the case against Trent without prejudice, however, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Rolf Michael Treu grants the dismissal with prejudice, preventing her from filing the restraining order again with the same evidence and allegations in the future. The judge does note that future conduct can be litigated.

Katherine’s new lawyers, Nelson J. Handy and Vatche Zetjian, explained that Katherine didn’t understand the extent of the action brought about by the case when she initially filed the temporary restraining order request in February, and said that she was not prepared for a trial, or having to testify in court.

The Estate of Michael Jackson has announced an Animated TV Special coming this fall. It will be broadcast on CBS in the US and there are deals with local broadcasters in other countries around the world. The special will feature the music of the late pop star, as well as the voices of Christine Baranski and Alan Cumming.

A California jury on Wednesday ordered Michael Jackson’s production company to pay mega-producer Quincy Jones more than $9.4 million in royalty damages for his work on the blockbuster albums “Thriller,” Bad” and “Off the Wall,” agreeing that the company shorted him while declining to award the full $30 million Jones sought.

The hotly anticipated 3D version of the 1983 game-changing “Thriller” short directed by John Landis world-premiered Monday at the Venice Film Festival where Landis and Michael Jackson estate co-executor John Branca said it is a preamble to bigger announcements regarding Jackson legacy projects to be unveiled soon.
“Now we have ‘Thriller’ 3-D and two more announcements are coming up in the next couple of weeks,” Branca said in an interview, declining to elaborate further.

September 14 : Evvy Tavasci gives a videotaped deposition in the Wade Robson vs MJJ Productions case. In the deposition, she reveals that she has been working for MJ Estate since Michael’s death in June 2009.

September 29 : Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate release “Scream” , a compilation album of Michael Jackson songs. The album compiles songs around a Halloween theme. It is the eleventh release by Sony and/or Motown since Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009.

Back in Sept. 2012, Katherine and TJ Jackson were appointed co-guardians of the late Michael Jackson‘s three children. Prince Jackson and Paris Jackson are now over 18, while Blanket (real name Prince Michael Jackson II) is still only 15. In court documents filed by Katherine’s attorneys and obtained by E! News, it’s stated that Katherine is “no longer needed to fulfill the duties” that were needed back in 2012. The documents also say that given Katherine’s age, 87, and that Blanket is now 15, she “feels that TJ is able to assume all necessary responsibilities of the guardianship” for him. Katherine wants to resign, so long as TJ is sole guardian of Blanket. Documents also state that TJ wants to remain the sole guardian of Michael’s youngest child.

Michael Jackson’s estate has filed a trademark application for the phrase “Neverland Ranch” for a number of entertainment services, including a museum. Executives at Triumph International, the company which handles intellectual property for the Michael Jackson estate, filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on 30 October (17) for “Neverland Ranch” – the name of the late King of Pop’s sprawling estate in California. [note: “Neverland Ranch” trademarks have been filled back in 2012 and they are just renewed this year but the ones about tours and museum are new]

Weitzman says it’s laughable that the person on the deed changing the title is Michael Jackson … who is utterly incapable of giving anything to anyone anymore. Weitzman says, “Michael’s estate owns the property for the benefit of his children and Mrs. Jackson has no ownership interest.” As we reported, although Katherine signed a document attached to the deed, she may not be the mastermind, but Weitzman vows to hunt down the culprit.

May 03 : Paris shares a new picture of her with Dominic & Connie Cascio holding a framed photograph of Paris when she was a baby. This picture shows that Paris has remained in contact with the Cascio family.

June 23 : From TMZ : Jermaine Jackson’s wife is filing to divorce him and predictably … she says the trouble started the day she got busted for attacking him. Halima Rashid filed the divorce petition on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences, and listing November 28, 2015 as the date of separation. If that date sounds familiar it’s because TMZ broke the story … Halima was arrested for felony corporal injury that day. During a fight on Thanksgiving weekend, Jermaine allegedly spit on her and she allegedly bit him on the leg. Halima is seeking spousal support. They got married in 2004, but don’t have any kids together … so no child support issues. She was wife #3 for Jermaine. Her domestic violence case was tossed because prosecutors couldn’t determine who was the aggressor in the fig.

August 14  : Anthony “James” Jackson II, has filed bombshell new court documents insisting that the singer’s will is invalid and executors have iced him out.

Anthony’s dad, Tony Jackson, was Michael’s first cousin. “When I was seven years old my father Tony passed away,” Anthony writes in the court documents f “Soon after this, the Decedent Michael Jackson stepped in and offered to raise me as his son, as a co parent with my mother Debra Jackson.” Even after Michael’s own children — Prince, Paris, and Blanket — were born, Anthony says he “continued to raise me as his son.” According to Anthony, those intentions were “that I receive a living expense allowance, that all of my education would be paid for, that I would be able to purchase a home … and a vehicle, that I would receive enough funds to start my own business.” Anthony alleges that Michael “also said I was the only one he would allow to use the SONY/ATV music publishing catalogs for any of my projects, for free.” “I should have been receiving Decedent’s Michael Jackson’s intended inheritance for me. I request that I immediately receive [it],” he writes in the court documents, “and for them to be retroactive” from the singer’s death date, June 25, 2009. In the 128-page filing, Anthony lays out a complicated argument for why he has been denied what he says is rightfully his. Simply put, he claims that the will is invalid, and there is a major “conspiracy” in place. “I question if this will is authentic, especially since the Decedent Michael Jackson told me and my mother Debra Jackson in 2003, the will he was forced to sign in 2002, in my presence, no longer existed,” he alleges. “…I believe the will and the trust documents were never notarized and they have never been authenticated.” In addition, Anthony insists, “The executors violated my rights and proper legal procedure because I never received the notice of probate … I believe not noticing me was a tactic by the executors to gain control of the estate, because I believe they knew I would question the authenticity of the will and object to their being the executors…” “I believe the executors knowingly violated the trust laws,” the court documents claim, further alleging that they “… exploited the estate assets for personal profit, trustee compensation.” It’s not the first time that Anthony has faced off against the Jackson family in court. In December 2013, he petitioned for guardianship of Paris, Prince, and Blanket, but was denied.

August 27 : On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Estate of Michael Jackson teamed up with Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil to launch a three-day birthday celebration for the King of Pop, who would have been 58 years old, Aug. 29. We’re told the family had security concerns about her living just anywhere, so it was suggested she use MJ’s old compound. Michael’s estate controls all of his properties, meaning … technically, Paris needed permission to live there. We’re told she went to them, and pointed out she basically owns the crib as part of her trust — and the estate didn’t fight her. As for why she’s in the guesthouse — the main house is being remodeled. We’re also told Paris is living there completely on her own. She and bf Michael Snoddy recently posted pics from the backyard — he comes and goes, but does NOT live there.

October 01 : Sony Finalizes Acquisition of Michael Jackson Estate’s Stake in Sony/ATV Publishing

The completion of the previously announced deal “marks the start of an exciting new chapter in our proud history,” says Sony/ATV CEO Martin Bandier. The Sony Corp. has completed its acquisition of the Michael Jackson’s estate share of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, giving it sole ownership of the music publishing powerhouse. The deal was first announced in March, but it took a while to close because the transaction had to be scrutinized by the EU Commission and because the Jackson estate needed to do some house cleaning in preparation for cashing out, sources say. While the press release announcing the closing said that Sony paid $750 million for the Jackson’s estate 50% share in the company, Billboard estimates that the company’s valuation was anywhere from $2.2 billion to $2.4 billion when debt and an earlier agreed upon discount– for some other consideration previously given by Sony to the Jackson estate–are taken into account. “The payment also reflects certain contractual and accounting adjustments related to the Sony/ATV joint venture and other commercial opportunities involving Sony and the Estate,” the announcement said.

October 17 : Michael Jackson fans are to be thrilled all over again with a ‘spectacular’ new top secret Thriller project, original director John Landis has revealed during a visit to Sheffield. The Hollywood legend says he has just finished work on it but details won’t be out until next year. The 66-year-old revealed: “I can tell you something about Thriller that you are going to find out about in 2017. I just finished that and it’s pretty spectacular. It’s a surprise. It involves’s Michael Jackson’s Thriller.”I’d tell you more but the Michael Jackson estate would kill me.”

How he’s still following in his father’s footsteps. Providing a rare tour of his father’s Encino compound Hayvenhurst, he is, at 19, a young man prepared to set his own course, one that honors his father but does not imitate him. “Everyone thinks I’m going to do music and dance,” he says, laughing wryly because, as he is the first to admit, he cannot do either. Jackson is interested in producing entertainment but from behind the scenes. After nearly two years, Tohme Tohme and The Estate are back in court after the latest filed a lawsuits against John McClain & John Branca in 2012. The case is to determine if Tohme Tohme was really Michael Jackson’s manager in mid-2008 and therefor claiming compensation for his work towards “This Is It” and also regarding securing a loan to prevent forclosure on Neverland Ranch. Tohme says he is entitled to a 15% commission on Michael Jackson’s revenue during that time plus a finder’s fee for the Neverland deal.

August 04 : Blame it on the boogie? Reelz’s previously announced reality show Living with the Jacksons has been scrapped.

The cable channel originally planned to air the reality show, which featured Jackson members who left the family estate to live on their own, last November. The network even held a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour in July 2014 featuring family members Genevieve Jackson, Randy Jackson Jr., Alejandra Jackson, Jaafar Jackson and Jermajesty Jackson. But in October, Reelz announced that the show’s premiere date was moving to “early 2015 with a specific date TBA.” Early 2015 came and went, and according to an insider, the production on the show was not completed or delivered in a timely fashion and is no longer active.

The people who run Michael Jackson’s Estate are considering opening up the family home in Encino, CA to tourists … the home where MJ recorded his biggest hits, including “Billie Jean.”

Sources familiar with the situation tell us, the Estate is noodling the idea of Hollywood tour buses and individuals making the trek to the property and then taking a room-by-room tour. Our sources say nothing’s in cement … the Estate is currently exploring the idea and also checking to see if the zoning laws would allow it, and if not whether they could get a variance.

Believe it Or Not: A Michael Jackson Court Case Is Going on Right Now in Los Angeles. It’s hard to believe, but six and a half years after his tragic death, yet another court case involving Michael Jackson is going on right now in Los Angeles. The case is billed as Qadree El-Amin vs. Michael Jackson Estate (John Branca, John McClain). Although she’s not named as a plaintiff, the person lurking behind this effort to extrude money from the Estate is Michael’s former p.r. lady and “manager,” Miss Raymone Bain. Raymone Bain — one of four people claiming part ownership in a company created by Jackson — took the witness stand on the second day of a non-jury trial resulting from a petition filed by the Jackson estate, which is seeking to have the estate declared the sole owners of the Michael Jackson Co. LLC. Bain, Qadree El-Amin, Broderick Morris and Adean King say they collectively own about 15 percent of the company under a 3 a.m. deal to which Jackson agreed in a Tokyo hotel room on June 1, 2006. King was the only one of the four not present when the alleged accord was reached.

However news of whether the song will be available for download or purchase remains to be seen.

May 09 : Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate release Xscape, the second posthumous album by Michael Jackson. Xscape is the tenth release by Sony and/or Motown since Jackson’s death in 2009. L.A. Reid, chairman of Epic Records, curated and served as executive producer for the album, enlisting Timbaland to lead a team of record producers, including Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, and John McClain, to remix and contemporize the eight selected tracks. The album is #1 in its first week of release in worldwide sales.

The standard version of Xscape features eight tracks, each reworked from 2013 to 2014, while the deluxe version also includes the original versions of the songs which were recorded from 1980 to 2001, a bonus track and two videos. Xscape was promoted across the Sony group of companies; Sony Mobile used a snippet of “Slave to the Rhythm” in their advertising campaign for the Xperia Z2 mobile phone. James Safechuck files a lawsuit against Michael Jackson’s estate, alleging that Jackson had sexually abused him over a four-year period beginning when Safechuck was ten years old. Safechuck claimed that the abuse started after he met Jackson during the filming of a Pepsi commercial in 1986. He alleged that Jackson groomed him with gifts and attention, leading to incidents of sexual abuse during the singer’s 1988 “Bad” tour. The lawsuit contended that Jackson’s companies, MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures, facilitated the alleged abuse by creating an environment that allowed it to occur.

May 12 : The latest sexual assault complaint, filed in court last Friday, remains sealed, but two sources close to the case revealed that the man involved is James Safechuck, who appeared in a Pepsi ad featuring Jackson in 1987 and proceeded to have a close association with the singer for several years. Safechuck has always denied that Jackson had molested him. Safechuck added his name to a suit originally filed by Wade Robson in May 2013. Robson, an Australian who is now 31, testified in Jackson’s defense at the singer’s 2005 trial, where the pop icon was found not guilty of child molestation and other charges. But later, Robson changed his mind. Last year, he alleged in a civil suit against Jackson’s estate that the singer had forced him to perform sex acts. Both Robson, who was once a top Hollywood choreographer, and Safechuck, 36, are represented by the L.A. law firm of Gradstein & Marzano. Partners in that firm declined to comment on their latest filing.

A Michael Jackson fan has filed a Class Action lawsuit in Los Angeles over the authenticity of three controversial songs included on the posthumously-released Michael album. The plaintiff, Vera Serova, alleges that Jackson’s longtime friend Eddie Cascio, his collaborative partner James Porte, and Cascio’s music production company Angelikson Productions LLC committed fraud by creating and selling fake songs, via The Estate of Michael Jackson and Sony Music Entertainment, to consumers on the Michael album – released on December 14, 2010 in the United States.

June 18 : The estate of Michael Jackson has purchased the Calabasas, Calif., home where his mother, Katherine Jackson, lives with the late pop star’s children, according to Hilton & Hyland, the real-estate firm that represented the estate in the transaction. Ms. Jackson, who is in her 80s, has been leasing the home for the past several years, according to Hilton & Hyland’s Nichelle Robinson, who represented the estate along with her mother, Barbara Robinson of Hilton & Hyland. The sale closed Monday for about $10.75 million, she said. The seller was represented by Marc and Rory Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. The seller wasn’t identified. Located in a gated community in Calabasas, the Mediterranean-style house is roughly 12,000 square feet. There is a guesthouse, a theater, a pool and a putting green, Nichelle Robinson said.

Robson claimed that the abuse occurred at various locations, including Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, and involved acts of kissing, masturbation, and oral sex. He also alleged that Jackson had “brainwashed” him into believing the interactions were consensual and discouraged him from speaking out. Despite previously testifying in Jackson’s defense during the 2005 molestation trial, Robson stated that he experienced nervous breakdowns in 2011 and 2012, leading him to recognize the psychological impact of the alleged abuse. May 8 : Los Angeles CNN — A dancer-choreographer has filed a claim against Michael Jackson’s estate related to alleged child sex abuse by the late pop icon. Wade Robson, now 30, denied in testimony at Jackson’s child molestation trial in 2005 that he had been molested by the singer. Two months after Jackson’s death in 2009, Robson said they had “a wonderful relationship” and he called Jackson “a kind human being.” The lawyer for Jackson’s estate called the new accusations “outrageous and pathetic.” The details of the allegation are sealed by the Los Angeles probate court where Robson’s lawyer filed the claim last week, according to a court document obtained Tuesday by CNN. The deadline has long passed for creditors to file claims against Jackson’s estate, but Robson is asking the probate court to allow him to file a late creditor’s claim.

Paris was taken out of her Calabasas family house on a stretcher at around 2 AM and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The 911 call came in at 1:27 AM.  We’re told the caller reported a possible overdose, although a source connected to the emergency response said there were multiple cuts on one of her wrists.

AEG Live lawyers played short video clips from the depositions of Michael Jackson’s oldest children in court to counter testimony from their chef. The first clip shown to jurors was an answer to a question by AEG Live lawyer Marvin Putnam about former Jackson nanny Grace Rwaramba, who was fired two months before Jackson’s death.
“My dad didn’t like her, so he tried to, like, keep her away from us,” Paris said. “So he sent her on errands a lot.”
Her father was reluctant to fire Rwaramba because “he felt bad because she didn’t really have a lot of money,” she testified.
“He said she was sneaky and she wasn’t an honest person and she lied a lot,” Paris said.
Paris related an incident that happened when she was “really young.” She prefaced the story by saying it was “real creepy” and “this is going to freak you out.”
The nanny would sneak into a doctor’s hotel room and “he’d wake up and she’d be in his bed,” Paris said. “So, yeah, it’s kind of creepy.” It was unclear whose bed Paris was referring to since it was an isolated clip played without context.
Putnam asked her why her father didn’t just make the nanny stay away. “He sent her to India to get some stuff,” Paris said. “She kept coming back.”

The new production began previews on May 23, 2013 and the official world premiere was June 29, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Like The Immortal World Tour, this production was also written and directed by Jamie King. “Sneak peek” videos were released on the internet revealing numbers of the production, including “2 Bad”, “Stranger in Moscow”, “Bad”, and “Smooth Criminal”. However, unlike Immortal, the show only uses prerecorded tracks, with no live orchestra. This show is also the most dance-driven Cirque du Soleil show.

October 2 : A Los Angeles jury on Wednesday found that concert promoter AEG Live was not liable for the death of Michael Jackson, capping a marathon civil trial that laid bare the troubled singer’s health problems, struggles with drugs and fateful attempt at a comeback tour.

Jackson’s family filed the lawsuit, claiming that AEG’s was to blame for the King of Pop’s death because it was negligent in the hiring and supervising of the doctor, Conrad Murray. AEG argued that Jackson had a history of abusing drugs, including the anesthetic, and was responsible for his own death.

The outcome marked a decisive victory for AEG. The jury was left with five questions that it had to answer affirmatively in order to find AEG liable. The jury agreed with the first question, that AEG hired Murray. But it rejected the second question, which asked whether Murray was unfit or incompetent. That finding made the rest of the questionnaire moot.

The Jacksons wanted AEG to pay his children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, $85 million each and his mother, Katherine, at least $35 million.

Katherine Jackson stared ahead stoically as the verdict was read. She was quickly whisked into another courtroom, where she exited at the back of the downtown L.A. courthouse.

July 23 : Back in L.A, Janet goes to the Jackson family home in Calabasas with Jermaine & Randy and they triy to take Prince, Paris & Blanket to Arizona but the kids refuse to go along.

Trent calls the police and orders Janet & her brothers off the property.

July 24 : Janet goes to Arizona to visit her mother.

Katherine orders the security team to be fired and replaced by Janet’s security and she also orders Trent off the property.

Katherines phones to Prince, Paris, Blanket & TJ and promise to go home.

Marlon, Tito & Jackie give an interview to The Insider saying that they are not allowed to speak to Katherine and Marlon breaks down and cries.

LaToya remains silent on her social medias.

July 25 : An L.A Judge appoints TJ to become the temporary guardian of Prince, Paris & Blanket.

Katherine reads a statement to ABC News from the Miraval Spa in Tucson, Arizona surrounded by Janet, Jermaine, Rebbie & Stacee. She denies having been kidnapped and says she’s devasted to have lost guardianship of the kids.

At night she goes back home and is finally reunited with Prince, Paris & Blanket.

My mom told TJ that she was coming home tomorrow (which is today). His performance in court today breaks my heart. He knows his Aunts and Uncles would never hold their mother against her will. That’s ABSURD.He insisted upon knowing what time she was arriving today & now I know why. Trust me – the Executors are behind this. The “powers that be” use tabloid media to spin their lies and divide our family. Again.. WHY would it be necessary for TJ to take guardianship of the children away from my mother when they were already in his care?

I would first like to start off this tweet by thanking the fans that have always stood by me and my family, my dad really appreciated your support and I still treasure it to this day. As I am sure everyone is well aware of the events that have been going on. I have not been backing up my sister and her tweets avidly because I was waiting for the time to reveal my side. As long as I can remember my dad had repeatedly warned me of certain people and their ways. Although I am happy my grandma was returned, after speaking with her I realized how misguided and how badly she was lied to. I’m really angry and hurt. The following image is of a group chat I had started to several family members. This group text message I had initially sent was replied to but they didn’t know that I could see the responses. 1) When TJ asked my mother if he should ask for temporary guardianship, my Mother told TJ NO – twice.

2) The Estate denied Rebbie, Janet and Jermaine access to the house when they returned to home to Calabasas with a letter written by Howard Weitzman, attorney for the Estate, who is not a resident of the home.

3) The Estate is trying to isolate my Mother from her family JUST LIKE THEY DID TO MICHAEL, in order to propagate their lies, financial agendas and to protect a fraudulent will.

4) The same people that are trying to manipulate my mother are the same people that were involved with my brother when he died.

5) In order to obtain temporary guardianship, TJ lied to the court. Rebbie, Janet, Jermaine and I would never harm our mother and we are doing our best to protect her and the Estate knows that. I want to know why Perry Sanders would consider a negotiation based on lies.

6) It is clear that anyone who stands up against the Executors of the Estate – John Branca, John McClain and their attorney Howard Weitzman – is denied access to my mother.

7) It is my fear and belief, that they are trying to take my mother’s life.

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say the executors of Michael Jackson’s will are causing harm by damaging “fundamental family relationships” and isolating matriarch Katherine Jackson “from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will.” The Jackson siblings released a statement late Friday through an attorney amid a fight over their brother’s will with the executors of his estate. On Thursday a judge named TJ Jackson, a cousin to Michael Jackson’s three children, as co-guardian with Katherine Jackson, who was named their sole caretaker in the disputed will. Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson accuse the executors of a “relentless” negative media campaign and say they have been barred from visiting their 82-year-old mother or Jackson’s children. “The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will,” reads the statement by Janet Jackson’s attorney, Blair G. Brown, released on behalf of Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson. They say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson’s will because “the executors have never explained how Michael could have signed his will in California on a date that irrefutable evidence establishes that he was in New York.”

Representatives for the executors of the will did not immediately respond to calls and emails requesting comment. However, representatives for executors John Branca and John McClain released a statement some weeks ago saying, “Any doubts about the validity of Michael’s will and his selection of Executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court.” Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say they will continue to contest Michael Jackson’s will, adding, “they stand nothing to gain financially by a finding that the will is invalid.” “The individuals who have the most to lose by a finding that the will is invalid are, of course, the executors and those on the executors’ payroll.” The siblings say they will “press forward in their search for the truth in order to carry out the wishes of their brother Michael.”

Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has been re-instated as guardian of his three children by a court in Los Angeles. She will share custody with their cousin TJ, who was made temporary guardian last week after the 82-year-old was reported missing. A hearing on 22 August will decide if the arrangement will be made permanent. Tito Jackson Jr, the 34-year-old son of Michael’s brother Tito, stepped in as guardian for Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14 and 10 year-old Blanket. However, his lawyer Charles Shultz said he “in no way was trying to displace his grandmother” as “they respect each other”. Under the new agreement, TJ Jackson remains as co-guardian, with control over the staff and day-to-day operations of the family home. Perry Sanders Jr, Katherine Jackson’s lawyer, has said the arrangement will allow his client to focus on the children’s upbringing and not on financial or logistics issues. The co-guardianship arrangement would also allow either adult to serve as sole guardian if the other were no longer able to serve.

August 31 : The Bad 25 documentary directed by Spike Lee is premiered at the 69th Venice International Film Festival. Later, the film is shown for a limited time in New York and Los Angeles theaters on October 19, 2012. The film makes its television premiere on German television channel VOX on October 20, 2012 and in the United Kingdom on BBC2 on December 1, 2012. A 90-minute edited version of the film, running for 64 minutes without commercials, premieres in North America on ABC on November 22, 2012. The film is released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 2, 2013.

September 18 : Sony and the Michael Jackson Estate release “Bad 25”. Bad 25 is the 25th anniversary edition reissue of American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson’s seventh studio album Bad (1987). Along with the original album, Bad 25 contains demo recordings recorded during the Bad era, with the deluxe edition also containing a live CD and DVD of Live at Wembley July 16, 1988, Jackson’s performance at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom during his Bad world tour. To implement a new “Live for Now” campaign, Pepsi planned to promote the 25th anniversary of Bad by printing one billion Pepsi cans with a photo of Michael Jackson from the “Smooth Criminal” video (which is not to be included on the CD or DVD itself).

Sony Music and the Estate of Michael Jackson in partnership with BET broadcast a two-hour TV special titled Bad 25 : The Short Films of Michael Jackson, which shows the short films from Bad, which like Thriller revolutionized the industry, and also features interviews with fans, journalists and critics.
