RECORDING DATE
“Ghost of Another Lover” is an unreleased song written and produced by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, intended for the Dangerous album. On April 9, 2017, a low-quality edited recording of the song from the Kingvention event in 2016 leaked online.
“Ghost of Another Lover” was co-written and produced with Skylark. It was recorded between 1989–1991 during the Dangerous sessions and engineered by Bruce Swedien.
One of the songs listed by MJ on a handwritten note of songs he wanted to finish in June 2009. “Ghost of Another Lover” was revisited in 2009, as evidenced by a CD in court documents from the Jeffré Phillips lawsuit. The disc dates back to April 29 and includes two mixes by Michael Prince: one with an intro and another without it. It is currently unknown who produced this version. The CD features mixes 4 and 7, meaning that at least 7 bounced mixes with different lyrical compositions were made.
Full demo remains unreleased.
