Early January : Michael, Grace & the kids go back to the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC.

January 8 : Janet is presented with the Merit Award at the American Music Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angele.

Later she shows up at the Arista Records After Party at St. Regis Hotel in Century City with Jimmy Jam.

January 19 : Michael donates a coat to the Movie Action for Children auction. All proceeds go to UNICEF’s efforts to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission in Africa. Michael promises to donate a personal phone call on the highest bidder’s birthday.

Late January : Janet is on the cover of Jer magazine.

Early February : Janet completes the recording of her new album in L.A.
She attends Lisa Marie Presley birthday party.

February 10-20 : Janet rehearses and shoot the video for her new single “All For You” directed by Dave Meyers and featuring a new group of dancers (The Kids) including Shawnette Heard, Gil Duldulao & Kelly Konno.

February 13 : Michael hosts a party for Prince’s 4th birthday in NYC.

February 14 : Hundreds of fans gather inside Carnegie Hall in New York to welcome Michael to a pre-launch event panel for his new charity ‘Heal The Kids’. The charities main initiative is to help restore a child’s birthright to nurturing care. Michael Jackson’s Heal The World Foundation and The Seminar Center presented a special Valentines Day Extravaganza featuring an all-star pPanel of celebrities and experts. The event takes place at the Carnegie Hall in New York City with Shmuley Boteach & Frank Cascio.

From adversity as children to superstardom as professionals, The King of Pop, Michael Jackson and London Times “Millennium Preacher of the Year” and international best-seller author, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, have had to learn to balance careers and parenthood. This was the first public event by the Heal the Kids initiative, a project of the Heal the World Foundation that aims to help busy adults reprioritize children. The children we raise with love today will lead our world tomorrow! Jackson and Boteach organized the Valentine’s Day Seminar to promote family love. A panel of children’s experts and celebrity held a lively, insightful and entertaining discourse about romantic love, family devotion and professional dedication. Michael Jackson appeared live to welcome and introduce his guests and was in attendance all evening. Prior to the event Michaelt sent ‘A Invitation to The World’s Greatest Fans!’

February 28 : The “All For You” single is released to radios around the world.

March 4 : Michael arrives at London’s Heathrow Airport with a damaged leg in a plaster cast, following a fall at his ranch. He is accompanied by Frank Cascio (Tyson) & David Gest. Early Sunday afternoon, He checked in at the Lanesborough Hotel in London. He later goes shopping with friend actor Macaulay Culkin, going to the HMV records store and buying a selection of CD’s.

March 5 : Michael has lunch with friends Uri Geller and Shmuley Boteach in a restaurant in the center of London. Later, he accompanies them to the Royal Institute of British Architects to attend a brief ceremony for the launch of a new book co-written by Boteach and Geller, “Confessions of a Rabbi and Psychic”.

Janet is on the cover of TV Guide magazine with an interview and new photos.

The video for” All For You” is premiered on MTV;

March 6 : Michael goes to the Oxford University to give a moving speech about childhood. Frank, Uri, Schmuley & german business partner Dieter Wiesner attend the event. Michael gives a highly personal speech to promote his “Heal The Kids” program, in which he expresses his appreciation for children, explains his forgiveness to his father, and urges families to reconnect with their children. Michael’s donation of a birthday call and a coat to the “Movie Action for Children” auction at Sotheby’s supports UNICEF’s efforts to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission in Africa.

March 7 : Michael is Uri Geller’s best man at his wedding celebrated in the Berkshire by Schmuley Boteach.

In the evening he attends the 10th annual Michael Jackson Day held by Adrian Grant at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre.

March 9-11 : Michael & Frank spend the week end in the Italian Alps before returning to New York.

March 10 : Janet is the first artist to be honored with the MTV Icon Award during a TV Special on MTV. Janet attends the show taping in L.A along with Terry Lewis, Jimmy Jam, Katherine & Joe, Missy Elliot, Britney Spears and many others at Sony Studios in Culver City, California. Several artist pay tribute to Janet with speeches by Stevie Wonder, Aaliya and performaces by Macy Gray, The Destiny’s Child, Usher, Pink, Mya & Nsync.

At the end, Jermaine, Jackie, Marlin & Tito go on stage to congratulate Janet. Michael appears in a pre-recorded video tape : “Janet, I’m so thrilled that you are being honored tonight as an Icon. No one deserves this more than you. You have achieved so much and will only keep climbing higher and higher. Your talent knows no boundaries. I love you and I am honored and proud to be your brother.”

Janet & The Kids perform All For You for the first time. The Special airs on March 13, 2001 on MTV.

March 12 : Janet is a guest on Late Show With David Letterman at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City.

March 13 : Janet is a guest on the Rosie O’Donnell Show in NYC

MTV Icon honoring Janet Jackson is aired on MTV.

“All For You” is released as the 1st single from “All For You”. It peaks at #1 on Hot 100 Billboard.

March 14 : Janet & the Kids arrive in Berlin, Germany.

March 15 : Janet performs “All For You” at the Echo Awards at the ICC in Berlin.

The German tv show “Wetten, dass..?” (ZDF) celebrate it’s 20th anniversary in 2001. Several celebrities, including Michael Jackson, sent messages to congratulate “Wetten, dass..?” and show host Thomas Gottschalk. Below follows a transcript of Michael’s audio message: “Hi, this is Michael Jackson. I would like to say hello to all my fans in Germany and ZDF. Congratulations for the 20th anniversary of ‘Wetten, dass…?’. Thomas, there will be at least 20 more successful years. Ich liebe Euch.” [“I love you” in German]”.

March 17 : Janet performs “All For You” on Wetten Dass at the Messehalle in Dornbirn, Austria.

March 19 : N’Sync induct Michael in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as a solo artist during a special presentation at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Michael invites Frank “Tyson” Cascio and Shmuley Boteach as his guests. MJ : “Berry Gordy, Berry Gordy, Berry Gordy, Berry Gordy. I just have to say thank you. He was so important in our lives, and he is really my real inspiration, and I owe him so much. Quincy Jones, thank you. We talk about a ‘Thriller,’ it’s Quincy. You’re incredible. I love you, Quincy. He is the man. The glamorous and talented and beautiful Diana Ross, who is my second mother–I thank you. […] To me, the gift of music has been a great blessing, from the time I was a child.” And referring to a broken foot he suffered in a fall at his Neverland home lately he apologized: “As you can see, there’s not going to be any moonwalking tonight because I broke my foot dancing — I fell down the stairs in California.”

March 20 : In London, Janet tapes a performance of All For You on Top Of The Pops which airs on March 30 and another on CD:UK which airs on March 22.

March 21 : Michael meets with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon at a private reception at the home of Israeli businessman Benny Shabtai on Manhattan’s Upper Wes Side in New York. Uri Geller and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach were also present.

Janet & the Kids arrive in Paris.

March 23 : Janet & the Kids go to Paris famous night club “Les Bains”.

March 24-27 : Janet gives many interview in her Parisian hotel.

March 25 : Michael goes to Newark, New Jersey, with Frank & Schmuley to distribute books to children under Heal The Kids.

March 28 : Janet performs “All For You” on French TV show “Graines De Star” before leaving for London.

March 29 : Janet tapes a performance of “All For You” on Top Of The Pops (aired on April 20).

March 30 : Janet gives an interview to BBC Radio 1.

March 31 : Janet performs “All For You” on CD:UK and she gives an interview to TV4

April : Michael, Grace & the kids spend 2 weeks at Teddy Riley’s home in Virginia where he & Michael work on Invincible. Then they go back to NYC and check in the Plaza Athénée Upper East Side.

Michael wraps up conversations with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach about his life, which he started recording in August 2000. These intimate conversations became available in Boteach’s 2009 book. The conversations, free of Boteach’s biased commentary found in the book, are available in the text document. Some time later, Michael & Shmuley have a fallout and Heal The Kids Foundation is dismanttled…

April 1 : Janet & the Kids go back to Paris.

April 2 : Janet performs “All For You” on French TV show Tapis Rouge.

Avril 3 : Michael hosts a party for Paris 3rd birthday at Teddy Riley’s home in Virginia where he & Michael work on Invincible. Frank Cascio joins them.

April 5 : Janet gives an interview on Fun Radio and then she leaves Paris.

April 7 : Janet performs “All For You” at the TMF Awards at the Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

April 8 : Janet performs “All For You” at Quelli Il Calcio in Milan, Italy and then she flies back to New York City.

April 10 : Janet introduces Aretha Franklin during the VH1 Divas Live: The One and Only Aretha Franklin’ held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

April 12 : Janet is a guest on MTV’s TRL and BET’s 106 & Park in NYC.

April 16 : Janet makes a photoshoot with rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri (JD) who just completed a remix for Janet’s new single Someone To Call My Lover.

Janet & JD quickly become friends.

The album “All For You” is released in the US.

April 19 : In Toronto, Janet is a guest on Much Music TV show.

April 23 : The album “All For You” is released in Europe.

April 26 : Janet is a guest on NBC’s  “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” live from Burbank, California and Prime Time Live with Diane Sawyer.

April 30 : Janet is on the cover of Jet magazine, VIBE magazine and Billboard magazine.

May : Michael, Frank, Grace & the kids check in the Sheraton Bel Harbour in Miami Beach where Michael completes the recording & mixing of Invincible with Bruce Swedien, Rodney Jerkins & Teddy Riley.

Michael meets Dr Alex Farshchian who becomes his personal physician.

Michael meets comedian Chris Tucker through Gavin Arvizo. Michael & Chris become friends and record a new version of “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” for the soundtrack of Rush Hour 2.

JD also shoots his part for the video remix.

May 16 : Janet celebrates her 35th birthday in Anguilla where she is rehearsing for the new tour with the Kids.
JD offers Janet a 2 way pager as a birthday gift.

June : Michael hires Marc Schaffel and they create a new company Neverland Valley Entertainment with a common bank account.

Janet & the Kids continues to rehearse the new show in Vancouver.

June 12 : At the Hit Factory Criteria studio in Miami, Michael & Bruce present the new album called Invincible to Sony excecutives. The album is not 100 % completed. He wants the song “Unbreakable” to be the first single but Sony insists for the song “You Rock My World” and Michael accepts. He starts to work on the short film with director Hype Williams.

June 13 : The video for Someone To Call My Lover is premiered on MTV.

June 26 : “Someone To Call My Lover” is released as the 2nd the single from “All For You”. It peaks at #3 on Hot 100 Billboard.

June 28 : Michael gets on stage at the end of the Summer Jam Concert festival in Long Island to hug rapper Jay-Z with whom he has just done background vocals For his song Girls, Girls, Girls.

July : Dissatisfied with the video concept of Hype Williams, Michael hires Paul Hunter to direct You Rock My World.

He starts rehearsing for 2 concerts produced by David Gest and scheduled for september 7 & 10 in New York to Celebrates his 30th Anniversary as a solo artist.

July 2 :  Live from Vancouver, Janet is a guest on CNN’s Larry King Live.

July 7 : Janet kicks off the All For You Tour at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland.

July 8 : Janet gives a concert at the KeyArena in Seattle.

July 9 : Janet gives a concert at the General Motors Place in Vancouver, Canada.

August 9 : In a Los Angeles dance studio, Michael starts rehearsing a medley with his 5 brothers for the upcoming New York concerts.

August 10 : Janet gives a concert at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo.

August 11 : Janet gives a concert at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford.

August 13-21 : Michael shoots the “You Rock My World “short film in Los Angeles directed by Paul Hunter and featuring Chris Tucker and a special appearance by Marlon Brando!

August 16+17+18 : Janet gives 3 concerts at the MCI Center in Washington, DC.

August 18 : New York’s KTU radio premieres MJ’s ‘You Rock My World’.

August 20+22+23 : Janet gives 3 concerts at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

August 22 : Janet is a surprise guest on MTV’s TRL in NYC.

After several leaks, the song “You Rock My World” is finally released as the 1st single from “Invincible”. It peaks at #10 on Hot 100 Billboard.

August 24 : You Rock My World“, the first single from the forthcoming Michael Jackson’s album “Invincible” is premiered online, on internet at http://michaeljackson.com.

August 25+26 : Janet gives 2 concerts at the Fleet Center in Boston.

August 28 : Janet gives a concert at the First Union Center in Philadelphia.

August 29 : Michael celebrates his 43rd birthday at the Cascio family home in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

August 30 : Early in the morning, Michael opens the stock exchange at NASDAQ on Times Square in New York City.

He is also presented with a birthday cake and a Shirley Temple poster.

September 3 : Janet gives a concert at the Gund Arena in Cleveland.

September 6 : Michael goes to the Madison Square Garden to rehearse his duets with Britney Spears, Whitney Houston & N’Sync. In the evening, he makes a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards at the Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center in NYC to dance with N’Sync at the end of their performance.

Janet also attends the MTV Video Music Awards with Gil. Along with Missy Elliot, she pays tribute to Aaliyah. While in NYC Janet visits the Jackson family who is in town for Michael’ concerts at the Madison Square Garden.

September 7 : It’s Michael’s day in New York City ! All the biggest stars of music, films & sport gather to attend his concert at the Madison Square Garden . Michael arrives one hour late with Elizabeth Taylor and during the first part of the show he watches tributes perfomances of his songs by today’s biggest artist in a VIP section with all his family & friends (Joe, Katherine, Rebbie, Macauley Culkin, the Cascios, Gregory Peck, Mark Lester & many more) while other friends such as Liza Minelli or Marlon Brando pay him respect on stage. Prince & Paris are in audience with Omer Bhatti.

During the second part of the show, Michael performs a live medley with the Jacksons (joined by N’Sync on Dancing Machine), + The Way You Make Me Feel in duet with Britney Spears, Billie Jean, Black Or White with Slash, You Rock My World & We Are The World with Quincy Jones, Yoko Ono and many stars.

After the concert, Michael attends briefly an after party held at the Tavern On The Green where he poses for pictures with many stars including Beyonce from the Destiny’s Child and Yoko Ono.

Janet gives a concert at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville.

September 8 : Janet gives a concert at the Philips Arena in Atlanta.

September 9 : Janet gives a concert at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro.

September 10 : Michael performs a second concert at the Madison Square Garden . At the end of You Rock My World, Usher & Chris Tucker gets on the stage to dance with him! Backstage, Michael has an argument with Corey Feldman over his plans to write a book on their friendship. After the concert, Katherine, Rebbie & the Cascio family spend time with Michael in his hotel suite.

September 11 : After hearing of the terrorist attacks in New York , Michael leaves New York with Grace, Prince & Paris and the Cascio. They go at the Cascio family house in New Jersey.

The Jackson family rides back to California in a bus.

Janet postpones several concerts because of 9/11.

LaToya is in Las Vegas. She writes the song “Free The World”.

September 16 : Michael annouces that he is going to record the song “What More Can I Give” with many artists for the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York . The song is produced by Marc Schaffel for Neverland Valley Entertainment.

Janet gives a concert at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans.

September 17 : Michael speaks with Rolling Stone on his upcoming recording of “What More Can I Give” for 9/11 victims.

September 18 : Janet gives a concert at the Compaq Center in Houston.

September 19 : Janet gives a concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

September 21 : The video for “You Rock My World” is premiered in Europe .

Michael records the song “You Are My Life” with John Mac Lain in Los Angeles and he likes it so much that he decides to add it at the last minute to the tracklist of “Invincible”!

September 22 : Janet gives a concert at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

September 24/25/26 : Janet & Missy Elliot shoot the video for “Son Of A Gun” directed by Francis Lawrence in Los Angeles.

September 26 : Janet gives a concert at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego.

September 27 : Janet gives a concert at the America West Arena in Phoenix.

September 29 : Janet gives a concert at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim in Anaheim.

October : Janet announces the cancellation of her European tour due to 9/11.

October 01 : Michael meets Dr. William B. Van Valin II (whom he called Barney) in his medical office in Solvang. He invites Barney ans his son Mason to Neverland this night. They have dinner together with Prince & Paris then go to the arcade room, the movie theater ans the amusement park. For four years, until the end of the 2005 trial, this doctor and friend regularly shares the singer’s daily life, which he recounts in a book published in 2012, Private Conversation In Neverland with Michael Jackson.

October 2+3 : Janet gives 2 concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Most of the Jackson family attend the show.

October 5+6 : Janet gives 2 concerts at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Katherine, Joe & LaToya attend the concerts.

October 8 : Janet gives a concert at the Compaq Center in San Jose.

October 9 : The single of “You Rock My World” is released in Europe and becomes a huge hit.

Janet gives a concert at The Arena in Oakland in Oakland.

October 10 : Janet gives a concert at the Compaq Center in San Jose.

October 12 : Janet gives a concert at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

October 13 : Janet gives a concert at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

October 15 :While Quincy Jones is promoting his autobiography On the Oprah Show, Michael calls him on the phone to congratulate him.

Michael completes the recording of “What More Can I Give”. Many artists have recorded their parts including Justin Timberlake, Usher, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Aaron & Nick Carter, Luther Vandross, Boys 2 Men, Gloria Estefan ect…

October 16 : Sony releases special editions of Michael’s classic albums “Off The Wall”, “Thriller”, “Bad” & “Dangerous” with exclusive new materials (interview, demo & previously unreleased songs).

Michael films a scene for the movie Men In Black 2 directed by Barry Sonnefield where he plays Agent M.

Janet gives a concert at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

October 17 : Debbie Rowe goes to the family court in Los Angeles to give up her parental rights on Prince & Paris because she says she has not seen them for a year and do not want to disturb them by making intrusions in their life once in a while.

October 18 : Janet gives a concert at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

October 20 : Janet gives a concert at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.

October 21 : Michael is in Washington DC where he participates at a TV concert for the victims of September 11. He performs “Man In The Mirror” and at the end, he sings “What More Can I Give” with all the artists of the night (including Usher & Mariah Carey) Prince, Paris, Macauley Culkin, the Cascios, Kenny Ortega & Marc Schaffel attend the concert backstage.

October 22 : Michael records a Spanish version of “What More Can I Give” titles “Todo Para Ti”.

October 23 : Janet gives a concert at the First Union Center in Philadelphia.

October 26 : Michael participates in an Online Audio Chat with his fans hosted by Yahoo & Get Music, sponsored by Rolling Stone. With music critic/writer Anthony DeCurtis, he answers questions from fans via telephone about the new album, the recording process and his music.

Janet gives a concert at the Ice Palace in Tampa.

October 28+29 : Janet gives the last two concerts of the american leg at the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise.

October 30 : Worldwide release of the album Invincible.

Michael is on the cover of TV Guide with an exclusive interview and pictures. In the interview, MJ talks about 9/11 : “I got a call from overseas that said America’s being attacked. I said, “What are you talking about?” They said, “Turn on the news.” And I couldn’t believe what I saw. And I screamed down the hallway, “Everybody, quick, get up, we’ve got to go.” And everybody got dressed, and we got in the car and drove farther out [from the city]. I was sick over the notoriety of the attacks. I don’t know if [television news] played it too many times, but we went from fear to hate to anger to vengeance. And I think the media had a lot to do with that.”

October 31 : On Hallowen night, Michael Prince & Paris go to Dr. William B. Van Valin II (Barney)’s home : “We went trick-or-treating all over Ballard [Ballard, where Dr. Van Valin lived, is a small town between Los Olivos and Solvang, just a few minutes from the Neverland Ranch], without stopping. The people who recognized Michael left him alone. But they pointed out to me the next day that they had seen me walking around town.”

November 7 : For the first time in his career, Michael makes an appearance at the Virgin megastore of Times Square in New York to promote and sign copies of Invincible. He is accompanied by Frank & Eddie Cascio + his make up artist Karen Faye.

He also gives several interviews to the TV shows TRL (MTV), Entertainment Tonight (CBS) et 106 & Park (BET).

November : Janet is on the cover of Ebony magazine.

November 12 : Entertainment Tonight airs the first footage of the “What More Can I Give” video. The song is ready but Sony doesn’t want to release it. They also refuse to put commercials for Michael’s new album during the airing of his concert on CBS.

Michael is furious against Sony CEO, Tommy Mottola.

November 13 : CBS broadcasts an edited version of Michael’s concerts at the Madison Square Garden and gets great ratings.

December 3 : The single  “Cry” is released in Europe while Butterflies is played on US radios (with a remix featuring rap artist Eve). Michael does not appear in the video.

December 4 : Live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Puff Daddy & Missy Elliot present Janet with a special Award of Achievement during the Billboard Awards ceremony.

December 11 : “Son Of A Gun” is released as the 3rd & final single from from “All For You”. It peaks at #28 on Hot 100 Billboard.

December 14 : Michael gives an interview to USA Today. Asked about “What More Can I Give”, MJ answers : “It’s not finished. We’re adding artists, and I’m getting myself satisfied with the instrumentation.”

December 17 : Michael makes a photoshoot with Prince & Paris at Neverland for an upcoming VIBE magazine coverstory with photographer Jonathan Exley. The same day he gives a long interview to Regina Jones.

December 19 : Michael attends the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball Concert in Los Angeles where Rick Dees & Magic Johnson present him the Legend Award.

December 24/25 : Michael celebrates Christmas at Neverland with the Cascios, the Bhattis, Prince & Paris.
