May 20 : Live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Janet walks the red carpet of the Billboard Music Awards with her team (Joey, Preston, Janet & Robert). She performs a medley of Nasty/If/Throb with 40 dancers and then Bruno Mars presents her with the Icon Award. Katherine, Rebbie, Austin & Yashi are her guests and sit front row. Prince & Randy Jackson are backstage (but not together). Paris reveals on Instagram that she was not informed by her management or family about this award but she congratulates Janet on her Insta Story.

June : Paris and musician/singer Gabriel Glenn form a musical duo called The Soundflowers and perform their first gig at Canyon Sessions on June 23, 2018, with original songs “Daisy” and “In the Blue”. Paris sings and plays the ukulele while Glenn also sings and plays acoustic guitar. The Soundflowers released their first self-titled EP on June 24, 2020.

June 22 : Joe Jackson — the music manager and father of 11, has been hospitalized with terminal cancer, TMZ reports.
The 89-year-old Jackson family patriarch has been battling the illness “for some time,” the outlet says, but is “at the end stages” and “the cancer cannot be treated.” Family, including wife Katherine, has been at his bedside, sources tell TMZ. Jackson’s children and grandchildren have also made visits. On Wednesday, son Jermaine told the Daily Mail, “He’s very, very frail, he doesn’t have long. The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days.”

Among others : Katherine, Rebbie, Austin, Janet (with her son Eissa), LaToya, Jackie (with children and grandchildren), Marlon, Tito (with children and grandchildren), Randy, Jermaine Jr (with wife Asa), Joh’Vonnie (with daughter Yasmine), Paris & Bigi, Stevie Wonder & Johnny Gill. Prior to the service some family members gathered at Hayvenhurst, the family home since 1971. After the service they had lunch at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.

Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate have won a case to remove themselves from liability in a lawsuit claiming that three tracks on Michael Jackson’s 2010 posthumous album, Michael, were recorded by an impersonator. The accusation was brought about by a fan, Vera Serova, who named Sony Music, the Michael Jackson Estate, MJJ Productions and the album’s production company, Angelikson Productions LLC, in a class action lawsuit.
August 29 : LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jackson’s estate and IMAX are partnering to digitally remaster “Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D” into IMAX 3D. It will be released in IMAX theaters across the U.S. for one week, beginning Sept. 21. The remastered release precedes the launch of Amblin Entertainment’s fantasy film, “The House with a Clock in Its Walls,” starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett.

September 9 : Prince Michael Jackson is honored with the Motif Lifetime Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest honor in youth advocacy at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old called the award — which he received for his charity, Heal Los Angeles — “an incredible honor” in his acceptance speech, before using much of his remaining time to pay tribute to his late father, Michael Jackson.
“This is a really special moment for me. My dad did some cool things, but his biggest passion was helping others,” Prince said. “I learned how important that was from him. We called the foundation Heal L.A., because the goal was to further the cause of dad’s Heal the World organization and start locally by helping out at home.”
