The title “From the Bottom of My Heart” was first revealed through a 2005 post on 2seasrecords.com, stating it was going to be released as a charity single for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. However, the site was referring to another, completely unrelated unreleased song, “I Have This Dream”, and it is unknown why it was called “From the Bottom of My Heart”. It is presumed, that it was initially an alternate title for “I Have This Dream”, but the title got repurposed for the other song.[3]
What came of “Bottom of My Heart” is an instrumental worked on around 2007 and 2008. The song was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2010, listing Brad Buxer as the producer. Alongside other, thirty four titles, it became a contender for Jackson’s never-finished eleventh studio album.
“[…] Bottom Of My Heart is a totally separate song. The version I heard was an instrumental, and I was told by someone who worked on the music that MJ never got around to recording it. But it was on MJ’s list of songs he wanted to keep working on.”
