September 3, 1980 : In recognition of their contribution to music , The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honour The Jacksons with a Star on Hollywood Boulevard’s “Walk Of Fame”. Michael, Jackie, Tito, Marlon and Randy attend the presentation with Joe & Katherine, Rebbie, LaToya, Janet and Joe’s mother Crystal Jackson. Michael is also presented a special plaque in “recognition of 4 Top ten singles from the album Off The Wall”. Later the Jackson family has dinner at Chasen’s restaurant in West Hollywood.
January, 1981 : The Jacksons win the NAACP Image Award for best singing group of the year.
January 30, 1981 : Michael attends the American Music Awards where he receives three awards for Off The Wall (one of them is presented by sister LaToya) and he also pays tribute to Chuck Berry. Diana Ross is his date for the evening.
March 1981 : Michael & the Jacksons attend a press conférence to announce the upcoming Triumph Tour.
March 31, 1981 : Michael attends the Academy Awards with Diana Ross and then they go to an after party where he meets and befriends actress Brooke Schields.
September 1981 : Michael is presented with a Scotty Award for Off The Wall. He poses for pictures with the award (specific date and place remain unknown).

The Jacksons Live! Released on November 11, 1981
The Jacksons Live! (a.k.a. Live) is a live album by The Jacksons. It was released on November 11, 1981 by Epic Records. The album was recorded during the band’s North American concert tour in fall 1981, known as the Triumph Tour. The live double album was culled from recordings made on the tour’s stops in Buffalo, Providence, Atlanta, and New York City. The live album would go on to sell over two million copies worldwide.

Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at Park City, Utah on January 24, 2016. It was shown on the American television network Showtime on February 5, 2016. The film was released along with a reissue of the original Off the Wall album on February 26, 2016. It features never before seen pro HQ footage from Destiny Tour 1979 (December 16, 1979 at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum Arena in Oakland) and Triumph 1981 (September 26, 1981 at The Forum in Inglewood).
