September 15 : Tito dies from a heart attack at a mall in New Mexico after stopping while driving to Oklahoma, where he’d recently moved. Tito was driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma. Gallup Police in New Mexico told DailyMail.com that a passerby flagged down cops at 6:17 pm at the American Heritage Plaza shopping center because of an individual who required medical attention. Police identified the man as Tito Jackson, who was transported in an ambulance to a local hospital in Gallup. He is later pronounced dead. Tito had moved out of California to the countryside of Claremore, OK earlier this year, according to Tulsa World.

We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as “Coach Tito” or some know him as “Poppa T.” Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be “Tito Time” for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is “Love One Another.” We love you Pops.

September 17 : Janet’s concert in South Africa, scheduled for September 21 is officially cancelled. The singer’s team said she’s staying home with her family after the passing of her brother Tito. Still no communication from Janet on her social medias.
September 20 : Janet is spotted in Paris (via an Insta story from Gil).
September 21 : Janet has dinner with friends and crew, including fashion stylist Christian Siriano, Gil, Preston and Dean.
Janet is featured on the cover of UK weekly magazine The Gardian Saturday. In thé interview she mentions new music : « And I have recorded a lot of music,” she laughs. “A lot of music that’s just sitting on the shelf.” Why isn’t she releasing it? “I went to my brother [Randy] … and I think, I think he’s just waiting for the opportune time ». A huge controversy rises when Janet repeats MAGA conspiracy theory about Kamala Harris.
September 22 : Janet Jackson’s statement through her manager, Mo Elmasri: “She deeply respects Vice President Kamala Harris and her accomplishments as a Black and Indian woman. Janet apologizes for any confusion caused and acknowledges the importance of accurate representation in public discourse. We appreciate the opportunity to address this and will remain committed to promoting unity,”
A few hours later, Variety reports : « UPDATED: After a confusing turn of events on Sunday, reps for Janet Jackson tell Variety that an unusually worded “apology” for the singer’s ill-informed comments about Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ racial background was made by a person who is not the singer’s manager, as he had claimed, and thus was not authorized to speak on her behalf. Contacted by Variety, Elmasri claimed in an email, “I no longer work for her. I was fired by Janet and Randy, after attempts to improve her image in front of public opinion and her fans, and this is something I do not deserve.” He then offers “All my support” to Vice President Harris. Jackson’s reps did not immediately have a response, although sources close to her team tell Variety that Elmasri is not known to have been directly associated with the singer.

At night, Janet & the Kids perform the 87th concert of the Together Again Tour at the Accor Arena in Paris France. Janet adds two songs to the setlist (Runaway and Whoops Now). Janet dedicates Together Again to her brothers Michael & Tito and her father Joe Jackson with their pictures on the giant screen.Naomi Campbell attends the show. This is the first concert of the european leg of the tour.

September 30 : Janet has cancelled a concert at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro for the second time. The singer was due to perform at the 12,000-seat venue on 13 October, having originally scrapped her 30 September show. But fans are understood to have received emails from the Hydro saying that gig has also been cancelled – with no confirmation that it will go ahead at a later date.
