Originally an experimental sound Jam and Lewis was considering for the album, they did not give the song serious contemplation until the film producers from Poetic Justice requested a ballad for the soundtrack.

LIVE PERFORMANCES ON TV SHOWS

November 11, 1993 : BBC UK airs Janet performance of ”Again” on Top Of The Pops (taped in Los Angeles).

March 21, 1994 : Janet & Rene attend the 66th Annual Academy Awards at Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles, where  “Again” is nominated for Best Song For A Film. Janet performs the song live but she does not win.

May 26, 2010 : Live on FOX from the Nokia Theatre in L.A, Janet gives a surprise performance of “Nothing” and “Nasty” on the season finale of American Idol. Prior to her walking on the stage, several of the contestants perform a few lines of “Again” and Janet joins in with them before she begins singing the other songs.
